what about Matthew 6:10 ?Jesus called it the "Kingdom of Heaven" so that one.
what are you trying to say, just say it.what about Matthew 6:10 ?
Dear Brakelite,As if Jesus died for us but won't listen to us when we need help? Aside from the necromancy of course, Catholics who prefer to approach Mary target than Jesus are practising the very nature of Antichrist... Instead of Christ, or in room of Christ. That's the meaning of anti in the context.
Hardly surprising after reading some of your other posts. You are plucking doctrines from the bottom of your corn flakes box. According to you... God intended mankind to sin all along, He then arbitrarily chose a few to be saved and the rest to remain in their sin offending God and blaspheming all of heaven and hurting, killing, raping, abusing and belittling their fellow man who were made in God's image just so He could judge them, but after that gives them faith to believe so that everyone will be saved in the end.
No, that isn't all I said. Read the post again. I don't think I was being obtuse. It's clear what I was saying. And it was in context to the situation and predicament the apostles and Jesus were in. The sword was a metaphor for all violence and hatred and killing. Of course, you don't want to hear that because you believe God uses violence and hatred and killing just for fun, even forcing men to do so against their will.
Grace, this is sad. Of course Faith is essential. I never said it wasn't!! Do you read what I write? Why do you do that? faith without love is worthless. Good deeds are worthless without love. THAT is what I said. That is what the scriptures say.1 Cor 13 is YOUR verse.
I wanted to know what verse I posted that you did not agree.
But no matter,,,
there seems to be a communication gap here so better to end this conversation.
You say that Faith and §Works take a back seat to love.
I said that even atheists can do works out of love.
Are they saved?
No.
Because without faith we will not be saved.
Now you say faith must work through love.
I don't know any Christian that does not agree with this.
That's it for me.

Locust is a JW- Ask him why being a locust is a good thing? he thinks he is a locust from Rev 9- coming to "harm" you since you are not a Jw and therefore no HS. His king is Abbadon from the pit.. (aka the Lord). No I'm not kidding.what are you trying to say, just say it.
The Kingdom of heaven always means heaven.what about Matthew 6:10 ?
I'm sure we'll meet up again.Grace, this is sad. Of course Faith is essential. I never said it wasn't!! Do you read what I write? Why do you do that? faith without love is worthless. Good deeds are worthless without love. THAT is what I said. That is what the scriptures say.
You did not agree before. Go read your own posts. So if you do now- good.![]()
Once people know the truth they cannot go back
“For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. ”His misunderstandings are too severe to lead anyone to Christ, more than half of what he writes is false. the bible is closed to him.
Yes my friend but i was speaking of these John 10That's not what the scripture teaches... some actually do go back to living after the flesh (in sin) after having come to the Truth and being born again.
1 Timothy 4:1,2
Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron
("depart from the faith" is not referring to sinners in the world who never came to faith in the first place)
2 Timothy 4:3,4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (teaching); but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Peter 2:1-3
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying (contradicting, Not agreeing with) the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness (idolatry) shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.
Jude 1:4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness (no self control, living after the flesh), and denying (contradicting, opposing Jesus’ teachings) the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. (referring to false teachers and false brethren - see Matthew 13:24-30)
(Deny = Strong's G0720… to contradict, disavow, reject, deny, refuse - and Strong's G4483… the idea of pouring forth, to utter, speak of or say, command)
Who is it that rules in heaven ? Jesus recognizes that God will Rule over the Earth. The Kingdom of heaven always means heaven.
The Kingdom of God could mean the Kingdom that Jesus meant to establish on earth
or
heaven...it depends on the context.
The Kingdom of God is a spiritual Kingdom to which all believers belong...
and it will spill into a real Kingdom...an earth made better by the beliefs of Christians and how they effect
all aspects of life here.
IOW...if everyone that claimed to be Christian really behaved like one...
think of how much better our daily lives would be just by having person
love God, their neighbor and themselves.
Matthew 6:10 is the Kingdom of God on earth.
No, the Kingdom of Heaven was preached by Jesus and is found in the early pages of Matthew. After it was pretty apparent that the Jews would not accept Jesus as the Mashiach Nagid thus Jesus stopped Preaching of this time....The Millennium was suddenly postponed for over 2000 years so far.The Kingdom of heaven always means heaven.

- New heavens- new earth- The holy city, the new Jerusalem, comes down out of heaven from God & He will dwell with us Rev 21No, the Kingdom of Heaven was preached by Jesus and is found in the early pages of Matthew. you have left out the 1000 years of the millennium that come before the New Heavens and New Earth. oops- New heavens- new earth- The holy city, the new Jerusalem, comes down out of heaven from God & He will dwell with us Rev 21
No I actually didn't.you have left out the 1000 years of the millennium that come before the New Heavens and New Earth. oops
That's not what the scripture teaches... some actually do go back to living after the flesh (in sin) after having come to the Truth and being born again.
It's really something to behold....It’s true that Scripture talks about people turning from the truth:
“But you, anointed one, listen! A time is coming, and it is now here, when those who are in you will be deleting the law of your Messiah from their scrolls and will not be finding your words.” (Isaiah 8:16)
“For you, anointed one, hear what the Lord is saying: ‘A time is coming, and it will come upon the house of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will stir up within them a spirit of stupor, of blindness and deafness: both their eyes and their ears. Then they will come and grovel long and hard before the Lord who gave them pleasure, but they will not give heed to him at all.” (Zachariah 12:1–2)
“So then, they have departed from us to show that they were not of us. For if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but the truth has been made manifest among them, that none of them are of us. (1 John 2:19)
There is no distinction between professing faith and those that left the faith. The thing to notice about this verse and others like it is that they are talking about professing believers, but in John’s wording, the ones who left were never saved to begin with. The Bible makes a clear distinction between professing faith and being possessed of faith.
Where dies the NT state this?If the person is really a child of Christ, then they will persevere. The fact that they left shows they never were saved.
Replied to above.Jesus said the same in the Parable of the Sower. (Matthew 13) He said some hear the Word with joy but are “rootless” and fall away in times of trial (Matthew 13:20–21). This does not mean they were saved and then lost salvation. It means it never really started.
Jesus said WHY He never knew them.Jesus also said to the wicked workers in the vineyard: “‘I never knew you’” (Matthew 7:23)
You're adding words to Matthew 13:9 too !It’s not like He knew them, then lost them, they were never known by Christ. “You who are hearing are not listening like a believer.” (Matthew 13:9)
Jesus gives eternal life to those who follow Him.A genuine believer can never be lost; they are kept by the power of God. “My sheep hear my voice and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27). “And I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
And who endures to the end?“Whoever was born of God does not keep on sinning, for his seed remains in him.” (1 John 3:9)
So it’s true that some do fall away as Paul and Peter prophesied. But when that happens, it’s proof that they were never saved in the first place. As Jesus put it: “He that endureth to the end shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:13)
The first part of your sentence is correct. The test of a true believer is not that they never sin, but that they never remain lost. The God of the universe keeps His own by His Spirit.
The Kingdom of God is on earth,,,right now.No, the Kingdom of Heaven was preached by Jesus and is found in the early pages of Matthew. After it was pretty apparent that the Jews would not accept Jesus as the Mashiach Nagid thus Jesus stopped Preaching of this time....The Millennium was suddenly postponed for over 2000 years so far.
The Kingdom of God is in Heaven, not on earth.
God WILL rule over the earth.Who is it that rules in heaven ? Jesus recognizes that God will Rule over the Earth.
The first principle in Scriptural interpretation is letting Scripture interpret Scripture. The Word of God cannot contradict itself. When John says, “They went out from us, but they were not of us” (1 John 2: 19), context reveals these were professing Christians that were never actually believers. John’s point was not that people could lose salvation but rather that they showed they never had it when they walked away. Jesus taught the same principle: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven… I never knew you” (Matthew 7:21–23). Note He does not say, “I knew you, but you fell away.” He said, “I never knew you.” In other words, there was never a genuine relationship to begin with. It's really something to behold....
Christians that know nothing of church history.
Please don't take my word for it:
Please study on what 1 John 2:19 is referring to.
It is referring to gnostics that had entered the church...
it has nothing to do with believers..it has to do with gnostics.
Gnostics are not Christian and did not belong then - nor they belong now - in the Christian church.
There is no distinction between professing faith and those that left the faith.
Paul speaks of falling away. What do you suppose these are falling away from?
Hebrews 3:12
12 Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.
It is possible to FALL AWAY from the living God.
Please note re the sower of the seeds: YOUR verses...
Matthew 13:20-21
20 "The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;
21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away.
Note: The word is received with joy.
But it is only TEMPORARY.....temporary means something was and then was not.
Because of tribulaton he immediately FALLS AWAY.
Falls away from what?
Luke tells the same parable and actually uses the word BELIEVES....he BELIEVES for a while and then falls awayl.
Same idea.
So Paul and Matthew and Luke agree.
James also agrees:
A brother that WANDERS AWAY is lost.
James 5:19-20
19 My brethren, if any among you strays from the truth and one turns him back,
20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
A brother that wanders away and is then TURNED BACK....will have his soul saved from death.
If he remains in the wandering state...his soul is lost.
Where dies the NT state this?
What it states is exactly the opposite.
Jesus Himself warns that we could be cut off from Him...
John 15:2a
2 "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away;
Please note: The branch is IN JESUS....the person is a saved person.
The person does not bear fruit...
the person is taken away.
Replied to above.
Jesus said WHY He never knew them.
Please post Matthew 7:23 and show where the word BORN AGAIN is used.
It's not there.
Jesus said He didn't know them because they were LAWLESS.
If we do not OBEY God....He will state that He never knew us.
You're reading into scripture what YOU believe to be true.
You're adding words to Matthew 13:9 too !
We're told not to do this in Revelation.
You seem to make a habit of it.
Here is your verse. to which you are adding your own words.
BELIEVER is nowhere to be found in the verse:
Matthew 13:9
9 "He who has ears, let him hear."
Jesus is teaching something.
He's saying TO LISTEN TO HIM.
NOTHING there about believers.
He's merely saying that the smart FWILL listen to Him.
WILL listen.
And it's interesting that you add BELIEVERS to 13:9
but will not do so in 13:21
You are not properly dividing the Word of God.
Jesus gives eternal life to those who follow Him.
Where does this state they can NEVER be lost when He CLEARLY stated a person could be lost
in John 15:2 ?
And who endures to the end?
UNBELIEVERS???
No.
Believers must endure to the end.
