Don't be deceived brethren, covenantee is only quoting the Daniel 9:24 verse in italics as written. That is NOT a direct quote by Clement.
Please just quit while you are (way) behind. That WAS a direct quote by Clement. He quoted Daniel 9:24. And covenantee quoted what Clement said which included the quote of Daniel 9:24. Hello? Do you enjoy making yourself look bad over and over again? What is wrong with you?

The FALSE idea that Jesus fulfilled the Daniel 9:27 final 70th "one week" is an idea from the FALSE JEWS of the "synagogue of Satan". It should be obvious that is who planted that idea among cult groups like SDA, etc. The early Church fathers never... stated that false idea. Instead, mostly all the early Church fathers (except for Hippolytus and Irenaeus) believed the final "one week" of Daniel 9:27 was fulfilled in 70 A.D. with the destruction of Jerusalem and the 2nd temple by the Roman army. Hippolytus and Irenaeus instead believed the final 70th "one week" was still unfulfilled, and would only be fulfilled at the end of the Gospel Age.

Hippolytus
, Preface on Daniel, section II, no. 21 & 22:

21. "For this reason, then, the angel says to Daniel, "Seal the words, for the vision is until the end of the time." But to Christ it was not said "seal," but "loose" the things bound of old; in order that, by His grace, we might know the will of the Father, and believe upon Him whom He has sent for the salvation of men, Jesus our Lord. He says, therefore, "They shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall;" which in reality took place. For the people returned and built the city, and the temple, and the wall round about. Then he says: "After threescore and two weeks the times will be fulfilled, and one week will make a covenant with many; and in the midst (half) of the week sacrifice and oblation will be removed, and in the temple will be the abomination of desolations."
22. For when the threescore and two weeks are fulfilled, and Christ is come, and the Gospel is preached in every place, the times being then accomplished, there will remain only one week, the last, in which Elias will appear, and Enoch, and in the midst of it the abomination of desolation will be manifested, viz., Antichrist, announcing desolation to the world. And when he comes, the sacrifice and oblation will be removed, which now are offered to God in every place by the nations. These things being thus recounted, the prophet again describes another vision to us. For he had no other care save to be accurately instructed in all things that are to be, and to prove himself an instructor in such."

Thus the early Church father Hippolytus, bishop of Rome, believed the final 70th "one week" of Daniel 9:27 would be fulfilled at the END of this present world, and not back in 70 A.D., nor during Christ's Ministry.
Debunked.

"Irenaeus and his pupil Hippolytus are the only two writers from the early Church period who believed in a still-future fulfillment of Daniel’s 70th week. They both placed the 70th week at the end of the gospel age and so are the first interpreters to postulate a gap between the 69th and 70th weeks (AG, V). Both predicted a specific date for the second coming that has long since come and gone.

But their belief in a future 70th week was never widely accepted! St. Jerome specifically pointed out that the number of years in their system did not coincide with the historical events they purported to cover. He wrote, “If by any chance those of future generations should not see these predictions of his (Irenaeus) fulfilled at the time he (Irenaeus) set, then they will be forced to seek for some other solution and to convict the teacher himself (Irenaeus) of erroneous interpretation” (CID)."

MORE... about the early Church father's belief that the 70th "one week" of Daniel 9:27 was fulfilled in 70 A.D.

As I have already said, only the early Church fathers Hippolytus and Irenaeus (per their writings) believed the final 70th week was still pending. None of the early Church fathers believed that Christ fulfilled the 70th week during His Ministry. That is a much later doctrine of men not associated with any of the early Church fathers.

When the Jew's 2nd temple and Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D. by the Roman army under emperor Vespasian, and the Roman general Titus, the majority of early Church fathers 'spiritualized' that began Christ's dawn of the era of the Church Age. They even 'spiritualized' Apostle Paul's prophecy about the "temple of God" in 2 Thessalonians 2:4. They treated the Church as the new temple since the Jew's temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. Thus some of them believed the 2 Thessalonians 2 Scripture had been fulfilled.

When Jerusalem and the 2nd temple was destroyed in 70 A.D., the early Church fathers treated that 70 A.D. event as the end of the Jewish Age. One of the major events that happened with that 70 A.D. event was the Diaspora (dispersion), the scattering of the Jews out of the holy lands then by the Romans. Only in the latter centuries, and especially in 1948, have many of the Jews returned to the holy land. And still today, the actual restoration of old Israel per God's Word is still yet to be completed.

But what the majority of those early Church fathers also did, was to WRONGLY treat 70 A.D. as having fulfilled Bible prophecy meant only for the END of this world, even all of Christ's Olivet prophecy, which if anyone reads will notice includes the future 2nd coming by Jesus and gathering of His saints. This is why their old doctrines of the 70th week already having been fulfilled in 70 A.D. is held by the seminary groups like Preterism and Historicism. They wrongly preach many Bible prophecies that are meant only for the very end of this world as having already been fulfilled in 70 A.D. But the FALSE idea that Jesus fulfilled the 70th "one week" of Daniel 9:27 during His Ministry, that is a doctrine the early Church fathers never held, but comes from fringe cult groups like SDA, JW, etc.

Provide a verbatim quote from any recognized source in historical orthodox Christianity claiming that Christ did not fulfill Daniel 9:24.

Nope, that was not a direct quote by Clement, NOR WAS IT DOCUMENTED where to find it!
What evidence do you have to show he didn't say that? None. Is it too hard for you to ask him where he found that quote instead of just assuming he made it up and again making yourself look bad? Here is Clement's entire quote including the source, which was Clement of Alexandria, Stromata, book 1, chapter 21.

"Cyrus had, by proclamation, previously enjoined the restoration of the Hebrews. And his promise being accomplished in the time of Darius, the feast of the dedication was held, as also the feast of tabernacles. There were in all, taking in the duration of the captivity down to the restoration of the people, from the birth of Moses, one thousand one hundred and fifty-five years, six months, and ten days; and from the reign of David, according to some, four hundred and fifty-two; more correctly, five hundred and seventy-two years, six months, and ten days. From the captivity at Babylon, which took place in the time of Jeremiah the prophet, was fulfilled what was spoken by Daniel the prophet as follows: "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people, and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to seal sins, and to wipe out and make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal the vision and the prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies. Know therefore, and understand, that from the going forth of the word commanding an answer to be given, and Jerusalem to be built, to Christ the Prince, are seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; and the street shall be again built, and the wall; and the times shall be expended. And after the sixty-two weeks the anointing shall be overthrown, and judgment shall not be in him; and he shall destroy the city and the sanctuary along with the coming Prince. And they shall be destroyed in a flood, and to the end of the war shall be cut off by: desolations. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week; and in the middle of the week the sacrifice and oblation shall be taken away; and in the holy place shall be the abomination of desolations, and until the consummation of time shall the consummation be assigned for desolation. And in the midst of the week shall he make the incense of sacrifice cease, and of the wing of destruction, even till the consummation, like the destruction of the oblation." That the temple accordingly was built in seven weeks, is evident; for it is written in Esdras. And thus Christ became King of the Jews, reigning in Jerusalem in the fulfilment of the seven weeks. And in the sixty and two weeks the whole of Judaea was quiet, and without wars. And Christ our Lord, "the Holy of Holies," having come and fulfilled the vision and the prophecy, was anointed in His flesh by the Holy Spirit of His Father. In those "sixty and two weeks," as the prophet said, and "in the one week," was He Lord. The half of the week Nero held sway, and in the holy city Jerusalem placed the abomination; and in the half of the week he was taken away, and Otho, and Galba, and Vitellius. And Vespasian rose to the supreme power, and destroyed Jerusalem, and desolated the holy place. And that such are the facts of the case, is clear to him that is able to understand, as the prophet said. On the completion, then, of the eleventh year, in the beginning of the following, in the reign of Joachim, occurred the carrying away captive to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar the king, in the seventh year of his reign over the Assyrians, in the second year of the reign of Vaphres over the Egyptians, in the archonship of Philip at Athens, in the first year of the forty-eighth Olympiad. The captivity lasted for seventy years, and ended in the second year of Darius Hystaspes, who had become king of the Persians, Assyrians, and Egyptians; in whose reign, as I said above, Haggai and Zechariah and the angel of the twelve prophesied. And the high priest was Joshua the son of Josedec. And in the second year of the reign of Darius, who, Herodotus says, destroyed the power of the Magi, Zorobabel the son of Salathiel was dispatched to raise and adorn the temple at Jerusalem. The times of the Persians are accordingly summed up thus: Cyrus reigned thirty years; Cambyses, nineteen; Darius, forty-six; Xerxes, twenty-six; Artaxerxes, forty-one; Darius, eight; Artaxerxes, forty-two; Ochus or Arses, three. The sum total of the years of the Persian monarchy is two hundred and thirty-five years. (Clement of Alexandria, Stromata, book 1, chapter 21).

As you can see above, Clement quoted Daniel 9:24-27 in full within his commentary on that passage. So, you are wrong yet again. Do you never tire of being wrong? Do you enjoy it?

BRETHREN IN CHRIST:
Even to this day, many in the Church do not believe the final 70th "one week" of Daniel 9:27 is still pending for the end. It is still not a widely accepted or POPULAR doctrine. So what is most POPULAR is always the Truth? yet that really is a funny idea!

And some groups against that "one week" prophecy being for the end even try... and associate it ONLY with those who believe a false pre-trib rapture theory. Yet MANY brethren in Christ Jesus DO believe that final 70th "one week" is yet to be fulfilled, and will ONLY be fulfilled by events prophesied to occur at the END of this world. MANY of us who believe that are NOT even pre-trib believers! Thus the attacks by Preterists and Historicists are just jokes on themselves, because they 'wrest' with The Scriptures to their own destruction.

A STRANGE HAPPENING:
In case one has not noticed in the past few decades, many folks that were NOT believers on The Bible nor on Lord Jesus Christ have been actually realizing... some of the end time events prophesied in God's Word! Is that a coincidence? Those who were not believers seeing events leading up to the end per God's Word are flocking... to Christ Jesus, becoming members of His Church! Amen! I've had the privilege to speak with many of them about that, and why they feel we are reaching the end of this world. The evidence for this movement in our time is overwhelming. Folks are understanding more of Christ's Book of Revelation about the 'end' than ever before.

And a quick study in the writings of the early Church fathers shows they didn't get to see many of today's events prophesied about the end in their day. One such event is the forming up of a "one world government" today, which globalist groups like the United Nations and World Communism has been the main world leaders in fulfilling. The early Church fathers never saw that, even though that "one world government" over all nations and peoples is the idea of the ten horn, seven head, ten crown beast kingdom of Revelation 13:1 prophesied to occur at the end of this world. Yet Preterism and Historicism even tries to deceive folks against understanding that simple Revelation prophecy for the end.

Even the alignment of the nations of Ezekiel 38 that are to come up against Israel in the last days is almost complete today, the nation of Turkey (old Togarmah area) is the final one still to be added to Russia's list of supported radical terrorist nations that are against Israel.

Even the technology of the Clark satellite belt has only happened in the 20th century, which is a requirement to fulfill the Revelation 11 Scripture about the dead bodies of God's "two witnesses" in Jerusalem at the end of this world being seen by the nations laying in the street...

Rev 11:8-10
8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

9
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
KJV

Only since satellite technology has that prophecy become possible to be fulfilled. The early Church fathers definitely never saw that.

THEREFORE... brethren in Christ, never allow yourself to be deceived by those who try and claim whatever is WIDELY ACCEPTED is always the Truth. Often it is NOT!

Yes, you can't convince anyone of your risible malinterpretations of Daniel 9, so you have to resort to Ezekiel and Revelation to continue your charade.

It is to laugh.

OK, time for a FINAL confrontation against doctrines pushed by the devil's children upon the DECEIVED!

Here are the events the deceived... are saying Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled during His Ministry...

Dan 9:27
27 The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings. And as a climax to all his terrible deeds, he will set up a sacrilegious object that causes desecration, until the fate decreed for this defiler is finally poured out on him."
Holy Bible, New Living Translation ®, copyright © 1996, 2004 by Tyndale Charitable Trust. Used by permission of Tyndale House Publishers. All rights reserved.

The Living Translation Bible makes it that simple to understand the one who presents that treaty (covenant) for 7 years is also the one who will place the "abomination of desolation" IDOL in the Jewish stone temple which Lord Jesus warned of in Matthew 24:15-26.

Those who push the LIE that Lord Jesus is Who fulfilled that above Daniel 9:27 verse during His Ministry are actually CLAIMING Jesus setup that IDOL ABOMINATION IN THE JEW'S TEMPLE DURING HIS MINISTRY!

We know per history that the Romans failed to setup the "abomination of desolation." Per the Jewish historian Josephus (100 A.D.), the 2nd Jewish temple the Romans tried to seize in 70 A.D. burned down from a fire that started inside the temple. The Romans never got a chance to capture the temple. That means NO "abomination of desolation" IDOL event in the temple happened in 70 A.D.

We also know per history, that in 165-170 B.C. Antiochus Epiphanes conquered Jerusalem with an army, ended the Jew's daily sacrifices, went into the 2nd temple and sacrificed swine upon the altar, and spread its broth around inside that temple, spiritually desolating the temple. Then Antiochus setup an altar and IDOL for Zeus worship, and demanded that all bow to that IDOL abomination. Thus Antiochus served as a TYPE for the FINAL ANTICHRIST that is to setup the "abomination of desolation" IDOL that Lord Jesus prophesied of for the END of this world, per Matthew 24 and Mark 13. HOWEVER... Jesus gave His prophecy about the "abomination of desolation" being setup in a Jerusalem temple per the Book of Daniel about 200 years after... Antiochus had been dead! That means friends, that "abomination of desolation" prophecy from Daniel 9:27 and Daniel 11 has never been fulfilled to this day.

FUNNY! covenantee thinks to falsely claim that I... am the one guilty of blasphemy against Christ Jesus when it is covenantee that WRONGLY BELIEVES JESUS SETUP THE "ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION" IDOL DURING HIS MINISTRY!

See brethren in Jesus Christ, ANYONE who believes that Lord Jesus fulfilled the final 70th "one week" prophecy of Daniel 9:27 during Christ's Ministry are BLASPHEMING JESUS CHRIST, AND THE FATHER!

And covenantee has already shown he believes Jesus fulfilled that final 70th week during His Ministry.

Once again, covenantee WANTS you to ACCEPT that Jesus is Who placed the "abomination of desolation" imn the temple at Jerusalem DURING HIS MINISTRY, because that is one of main prophecies that Daniel 9:27 verse is about!

covenantee simply wants you to DENY that Jesus setup that IDOL abomination, even though he is wrongly claiming Jesus FULFILLED THAT DURING HIS MINISTRY. So is covenantee simply confused by a false doctrine from the devil, or is he actually 'knowingly' purposefully pushing that false doctrine of the devil? Still to be determined.

You didn't answer the question.

Why didn't you quote the Matthew 26:28 fulfillment of Daniel 9:27?

Once again, Davy can't read or understand the interpretive testimony of historical orthodox Christianity.

He knows naught except the dispensatanized heresy of modernist revisionist futurized fable, fallacy, and fantasy.

He denies Christ's Covenant and Blood.

Such is blasphemy.

OK, time for a FINAL confrontation against doctrines pushed by the devil's children upon the DECEIVED!
Enough of your nonsense already. You blatantly twist the text by making a prophecy about Christ into a prophecy about an imaginary Antichrist instead and you twist the text by making a covenant into a treaty. It's a complete joke. Here is the truth about the 70 weeks, which can be discerned by looking at the fulfillment of Daniel 9:24.

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Here is my understanding of the fulfillment of each of the six things listed in Daniel 9:24. I will list the scriptures that I believe refer to the fulfillment of each of them.

1. To Finish Transgression

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Hebrews 9:15 That is why he is the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, so that all who are invited can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Romans 4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace".

John 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

2. To Make an End to Sins

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

1 John 3:5 And ye know that He was manifested to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in Him sinneth not.

2 Cor 5:21 For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22 Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Hebrews 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

3. To Make Reconciliation for Iniquity

Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven

4. To Bring In Everlasting Righteousness

Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Hebrews 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

5. To Seal Up the Vision and Prophecy

Luke 18:31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Matt 26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.

6. To Anoint The Most Holy

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Acts 4:27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed.

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel.

Only Jesus could fulfill those things. Without His death and resurrection, none of those things could be fulfilled. So, if your interpretation of the 70 week prophecy does not have Him being cut off (crucified) within the 70th week, it is a false doctrine as His death is crucial to fulfilling the prophecy. He was to be cut off after the end of the 69th week (Daniel 9:26) and that placed the timing of His death within the 70th week. He confirmed the new covenant with many during the 70th week and made the old covenant sacrifices and offerings obsolete by way of His once for all sacrifice.

You didn't answer the question.

Why didn't you quote the Matthew 26:28 fulfillment of Daniel 9:27?

That shows how coveantee is more confused than once thought! The Matthew 26:28 verse HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FULFILLMENT OF THE DANIEL 9:27 EVENTS!! It is even CRAZY to suggest such an erroneous idea!

Here is what Jesus said in Matthew 26:28...

Matt 26:28
28 For this is My blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
KJV

And here is the prophecy given Daniel about the coming "abomination of desolation" IDOL that will be setup in the temple at Jerusalem for the end of this world...

Dan 9:27
27
The ruler will make a treaty with the people for a period of one set of seven, but after half this time, he will put an end to the sacrifices and offerings.

The KJV uses the idea of the 'confirming of a covenant' in place of that "make a treaty" for seven years. covenantee is obviously listening to a false one try to make that confirming of a 7 year covenant to be Christ's New Covenant. It is NOT The New Testament Covenant. To believe it is Christ's New Covenant is terrible deception!

FACT: Lord Jesus NEVER... made any limited 7 year covenant. Not with Israel, and not with Gentiles.

The New Covenant, which is what the Matthew 26:28 verse is about, is an EVERLASTING COVENANT. It cannot be limited to 7 years!

And how can any... believer on Jesus Christ TODAY think the New Covenant could be for ONLY 7 years? It would mean that believer is a FAKE believer, because a 7 years covenant would mean The New Covenant NO LONGER EXISTED TODAY! WHO brethren in Christ, do you think would most be behind that FALSE idea?? The devil himself, and his children! That is who covenantee has been listening to, the devil's children, the seed of iniquity, the "many antichrists", the "crept in unawares", the "tares" that are to be destroyed in the fire!

Another problem those like covenatee has, is FAILURE to study His Bible as written. And because of that he thinks it OK to pull ONE VERSE from The Bible, and create a whole doctrine out of it. Yet God gave us the method to use, two or more witnesses to establish every word. Did you not know brethren in Christ, that there exists ANOTHER BIBLE WITNESS to that Daniel 9:27 subject as written? It is covered in the Daniel 11 Chapter. (And if you are present with one of these deceived souls like covenantee when you bring up the matter of that Daniel 11 Chapter as a second witness, don't act surprised when you see them begin to squirm and feel uncomfortable, because they don't want you to go there.)

Dan 11:21-37
21 And in his estate shall stand up
a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
22 And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
23 And after
the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.

The "he" of the Daniel 9:27 verse is that "vile person" who makes that "league" (covenant) with "a small people", meaning a small group of leaders in Jerusalem. Because the Daniel 9:27 "he" is not defined within that same verse, we are REQUIRED to go back to the Daniel 9:26 verse and pick up that last object being talked about. And per the Daniel 9:26 verse, the last one there spoken of is "the prince" that shall destroy the city and the temple. Historically, that was the Roman general Titus who destroyed Jerusalem and the 2nd temple in 70 A.D. So now we have to consider the idea of TYPES in God's Word, for there are many given. Roman Titus serves as a BLUEPRINT for the coming FINAL Antichrist/false Messiah at the END of this world. That is the "he" of the Daniel 9:27 verse that will confirm the covenant for seven years, then end the Jew's sacrifices, and then spiritually desolate the temple with IDOL worship. Antiochus Epiphanes in 170 B.C. already did most of that very thing, serving as a very... clear example or TYPE for the final Antichrist at the end.

Who are those "small people" that "vile person" becomes strong with as their king? Those are the ones Jesus rebuked in John 8 that worship their father, the devil. They will setup that "vile person" in place of Christ. That "vile person" will be the Antichrist for the end, the pseudo-Christ which Jesus warned about in Matthew 24:23-26 that will work great signs and wonders to deceive. That one will be the "man of sin" Apostle Paul warned about in 2 Thessalonians 2, the "another beast" that Apostle John was given to warn about in Revelation 13:11 forward.

24
He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.

25 And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him.

26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain.

27 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.

28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches;
and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.

When that "vile person" as king, returns to his own land (Israel), his heart will be against the confirming of the covenant he made for 7 years. In case you do not yet know just what 'covenant' that is, it is about the 'old covenant' worship. The idea of confirming is used in the KJV translation of Dan.9:27. KJV "confirm" is the word gabar (OT 1396) in the manuscripts, which means to 'make stronger', 'to prevail', 'put to more strength'. It is not suggesting a new covenant, but instead the making stronger of a previously existing covenant, the old covenant. That is why the Daniel 9:27 covenant event involves the re-establishing of old covenant animal sacrifices by the Jews for the latter days.

This is why the above verse shows the heart of that "vile person" will be against the "holy covenant".

(Continued...)

29 At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter.
30 For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return,
and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.

Once again, the "vile person" who will have CONFIRMED the old covenant for a period of 7 years with the Orthodox Jews there in Jerusalem for the end, will eventually "have indignation against the holy covenant." He will seek to end it, along with the daily sacrifices.

31 And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

The above are the EVENTS of the Daniel 9:27 verse, just made more plain. That "vile person" (Antichrist) will "pollute the sanctuary". Antiochus as a TYPE did that in 165 B.C. by sacrificing swine upon the alter inside the Jew's temple at Jerusalem (per the Jewish historian Josephus). Antiochus then setup an altar at that temple and placed an IDOL to Zeus on it, and demanded that all bow in worship to it. That IDOL is what is called the "abomination of desolation". It means an IDOL abomination that spiritually desolates the temple of God.

32 And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.

33 And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.

34 Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.

35 And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white,
even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed.

Daniel is shown the above events are for the very END of this world, not back in history. That is even proven by Lord Jesus quoting this from the Book of Daniel in Matthew 24:15 about the END of this world, even about 204 years after Antiochus had already been dead.

36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
KJV

That above event of the coming Antichrist exalting himself above every god is what Apostle Paul warned about with the coming "man of sin" in 2 Thessalonians 2. Paul said the "man of sin" will exalt himself over all that is even called... god, or that is worshiped, which pretty much covers everything.
