When understanding Daniel 7, one must consider and understand that the three kings (symbolized as horns), that were before/earlier than "the other king", aka a "little horn", took place long before Jesus' first appearance in the flesh.
Those three kings that were subdued (made humble, brought low) were the two horns of the "Ram" and the one notable horn on the "He goat". It is those three horns that were "plucked up by the roots" (their ability to dominate the world came to a complete end).
The Ram- 2 kings of the combined empires of the Medes and Persians.
The He goat- 1 king Alex the Great, who died at an early age, having no heirs to assume his place.
And the little horn?? Well, he was no other than Antiochus lV Epiphanes of the Seleucid Empire, one of four latter kingdoms that had divided out of Alex the Great's Grecian Empire.
Though that scripture sounds prophetic and could be applied to church-ianity's huge hope in what THEY love to call "THE Antichrist", I personally believe that Jesus was only speaking in general terms, showing that Israel will only approve of those who THEY themselves approve of, to be THEIR messiah.
YES = AGREE with prophecy,
as you pointed out, that has already came to pass.
DUAL FULFILLMENT
From what i have gathered in the overall picture of prophecy is that there is a repeating pattern that culminates as we approach His 2nd Coming.
Example of prophecy that repeated = Isaiah = "a virgin shall conceive..." (caption below off internet)
This is an example of a class of prophecies in the Old Testament which appear to have a dual fulfillment, that is to say they predict something to take place in the near future which symbolizes something greater that will take place in the distant future.
CONTINUING PROPHECY
In John chapter 3 is a continuing prophecy spoken by the Lord:
a.) "must be born-again to enter the kingdom of God"
b.) Spirit gives birth to spirit"
c.) "he who believes is not condemned"
d.) he who believes not is condemned already"
Acts is another "continuing prophecy" - Acts 2:16-21
this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out My Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Even on My menservants and maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
The sun will be turned to darkness,
and the moon to blood,
before the coming of the great and glorious Day of the Lord.
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
Continuing prophecy of evil
We know that the "whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one" - Matt 4:1-10 , 1 John 5:19 , Eph 6:12
The spirit of antichrist is at work even in "church-ianty" - the RCC being the 'poster-child' of that evil that appears as a lamb.
CUMMALITIVE Prophecy = Christ is our King and High Priest at the Right Hand of GOD = Acts 3:21
But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.
Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and
that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before,
whom Heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
