Ephesians 4:4-6 LITV
4) There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
5) one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6) one God and Father of all, the One above all and through all and in you all.

3) Or are you ignorant that all who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4) Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.

One baptism, being baptized into Christ.

one outward water baptism = symbolic of dying with Christ that we may also share in His Resurrection

One Spiritual Baptism in the Holy Spirit = Gospel & Acts

Gospel = John ch4 and ch14

Acts chapters 1 & 2

And while they were gathered together, He commanded them: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised, which you have heard Me discuss. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Promise #1 = Gospel = Salvation
Promise #2 = Baptism of the Holy Spirit
Promise #3 = Resurrection unto Immortality

The Bible says that no one can follow (believe) Jesus unless God permits them to do so. When it happens, I believe it could be described as a spiritual baptism.
JESUS says the New Birth is the New Birth by the Spirit - John 3:5-8

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

You should not argue with God over what He said. It's very plain, the only issue is whether you will believe what God teaches, or if you will add to His Word.

There is one baptism, accomplished by the Holy Spirit, into Jesus Christ. There is no separate "baptism in the Holy Spirit" apart from regeneration.

Romans 8:8-11 LITV
8) And those being in the flesh are not able to please God.
9) But you are not in flesh, but in Spirit, since the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone has not the Spirit of Christ, this one is not His.
10) But if Christ is in you, the body indeed is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11) But if the Spirit of the One having raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the One having raised the Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies live through the indwelling of His Spirit in you.

Much love!

dispensational falsehood

============================================================================

and Now:
TRUTH from the Mouth of GOD = You should not argue with God over what He said = listen to the LORD

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

Acts 1:4-8
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water,
but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”
Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Physical water is on earth = water baptism

SUPERNATURAL HOLY SPIRIT WATER is from HEAVEN and only in the Baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT

JESUS gave us His commandment but few listen and obey = to their own detriment

If you reject the clear teaching of the Bible - I'm not saying these things, God says these things - if you reject His Word, then what?

There is One Baptism, being immersed into Jesus Christ. This is plainly stated Scripture which you either believe, or reject.

I urge believing God's Word.

Much love!

Was Jesus referring to water baptism or spiritual baptism? I'm thinking it's the latter. What do you believe?

Mark 16:14-18
14 Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen. 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Water.
After properly repented the other is received.
We can not receive spiritual baptism until we are cleansed. The Holy Spirit way.

dThe thief on the cross wasn't baptized in water. Was he saved? Yep.
Study your bible;
There is nothing in the Bible that tells me he was not baptized.
But, he was under the old covenant {old testament} so that doesn't fit. Baptism wasn't required then as it is now under the new covenant {new testament}.

We must be careful not to take the bible out of context.

Don't pretend to agree unless you do. That's just dishonest.

23) And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
25) Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

AGREE AGREE AGREE = Paul is speaking of the symbolic act of water baptism = there is only one

Paul is specifically addressing the water baptism into Christ's Death = going down under the water = complete submersion
Water baptism is symbolic of the our dying to sin(under the water) and our Rising up symbolically of His Resurrection

Romans 6:3-4 is REPEATED by Paul in Colossians 2:12 = water baptism

For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized.
And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead.

Are you able to discern, from Scripture, the difference between water baptism and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit???

If you read the Gospel and Acts you can SEE the Main Difference = and it is IMPORTANT

Water doesn't wash away sins. ONLY the Blood of Jesus. His Blood was shed. The New Covenant was alive!

I believe it was the Spirit baptism.
However, I would not use that verse to prove baptism is necessary for salvation. If you do that ,you also have to claim only those that see Jesus can be saved:

Jn 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Would you agree that many of us who do not see yet believe are saved as well? Could it not be the same for baptism as well

You say you agree but I think you are being deceptive.

Paul wrote there is one baptism, and that baptism is not into water, it's into Jesus. Not water, Jesus.

I don't think you agree even though it seems you want to appear that you do. Again, that is dishonest.

There is One Baptism, Into Jesus. I don't think you agree.

Baptism wasn't required under the old covenant. Keep it in context.
Actually, baptisms were required in the Old Covenant. Various objects were baptized - immersed into water - to cleanse them.

Leviticus 11:32 KJV
And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed.

"put into water" in the Greek LXX is "βαφήσεται", from the root Bapto, to dip or immerse.

Gentiles would be baptized to join Israel. This is why the Pharisees were so offended by John telling them they needed to be baptized.

Much love!
