I had cancer years ago. I threw away my meds. Still here. I don't advise anyone, except to trust God of the Bible.your part way making sense but if your diabetic would you throw your meds away ? eat what you want ?
Could you explain what you mean by "authority in prayer"?The short answer is "Yes."
But does that mean we have no authority in prayer?
James 4:2 NIV
... You do not have because you do not ask God.
thats fine but your changing your story... do you go to the doctor for checkup of any kind? we can trust God still take medsI had cancer years ago. I threw away my meds. Still here. I don't advise anyone, except to trust God of the Bible.
I use BP meds that are proven to work. All I advise is STUDY the Bible. Learn God's promises.thats fine but your changing your story... do you go to the doctor for checkup of any kind? we can trust God still take meds
μένωPerhaps we need to compare other "ask and receive" scriptures.
@Cyd has this in her signature line. Notice the caveat.
John 15:7 (KJV) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Do you even read your own posts?Perhaps we need to compare other "ask and receive" scriptures.

smart move.. but your dishing me over my statement there is no scripture that promises a 100 % healing every time we pray . you changed your tune from your o.r on my post the promises of God are thereI use BP meds that are proven to work. All I advise is STUDY the Bible. Learn God's promises.
The promises are for those who TOTALLY please God. I never said I totally please God.smart move.. but your dishing me over my statement there is no scripture that promises a 100 % healing every time we pray . you changed your tune from your o.r on my post the promises of God are there
This seems to confirm the "whoever believes in me" qualification in John 14:12.μένω
- to remain, abide
- in reference to place
- to sojourn, tarry
- not to depart
- to continue to be present
- to be held, kept, continually
- in reference to time
- to continue to be, not to perish, to last, endure
- of persons, to survive, live
- in reference to state or condition
- to remain as one, not to become another or different
- to wait for, await one
I long time ago, in the long-defunct Ekklesia forum, I started a thread on what it means to be "IN Christ". That and the prayer request for my son are the only threads I've ever started myself, and both get brought up in this one. Full circle.
But God revealed what's really in you heart! This seems to confirm the "whoever believes in me" qualification in John 14:12.
Unless here is more to this abiding in Him business than simple belief.
But why no additional qualifier in John 14:12?
John 14:12-14 NIV
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing,
and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
I learned an important lesson from a missionary to China who attended the evangelical church I grew up in.
You should have stuck with the Bible. Not a missionary. No wonder you said:
"And clarity is further confused by the definitions shell game.
Why do we need a secret decoder ring to understand the Bible?
This is Freakin' nuts. (no wonder I don't trust the Bible)"
You admire those who don't trust the Bible? That says a LOT about you.I admire the patience of @St. SteVen, I don't have patience with stalkers, and I would instantly report you.
that has to be tough losing a son. it would cause me to do some deep soul searching.. if we would just be honest somethings we dont understand . as a christian death is vicory we get a new body. our family has to deal with the losesthe prayer request for my son
The promises are for those who TOTALLY please God. I never said I totally please God
your getting more honest in replies btw we will never please God %100 while we are in this body of flesh. we will fail the good news is we have a advocateThe promises are for those who TOTALLY please God. I never said I totally please God.
By following that logic, the reason my prayers for my stepson weren't answered were because I was not abiding in Christ, correct. (Uh, oh! Do I smell of sulphur?)This seems to confirm the "whoever believes in me" qualification in John 14:12.

not and you know thats not it.. not sure we will ever fully understand the reason of a untimely deathBy following that logic, the reason my prayers for my stepson weren't answered were because I was not abiding in Christ, correct. (Uh, oh!)

Thank you Jesus for revealing what's in ProDeo's heart!
Right. - LOLBy following that logic, the reason my prayers for my stepson weren't answered were because I was not abiding in Christ, correct. (Uh, oh! Do I smell of sulphur?)
I think part of the problem is the level of unbelief in America and the west in general.Right. - LOL
That can't be it. So what is the problem here?
