UmmmmmAnyone else tired of being sold a pig and a poke? I know I am. Donald Trump sold us a lie. That lie was America first, or MAGA, for short. But now what do we hear? Well we were going to do America first, but politics is... too hard.
Well politics is hard; It's difficult to be the President of 350 million people. But this is the job Trump ran for, and now he has it because we put him there. Now he's backpedaling on America first and he's adopted the neocon ideology of Israel first.
You oppose giving Israel billions of dollars in foreign aid to conduct a genocide in Gaza while Americans are living paycheck to paycheck and our veterans get absolutely nothing? I don't want your support, says Trump. Or if you're Marjorie Taylor Green, he'll just call you a traitor...
He was elected to put an end to the wars. The Ukraine war is still raging, and now this administration is apparently entertaining the idea of going to war with Venezuela...
So let me get this straight. Trump's new plan is to start new wars, continue funding the wars we're already in, proxy or otherwise, suppprt ethnic cleansing in Gaza, and gaslight Americans into believing that inflation is down, that the high cost of groceries is a figment of their imaginations, and that Israel needs the government's support more than Americans do?
I would say to vote Democrat in the midterms to punish this fat New York sack of crap, but they're bought and paid for too. Remember Joe Biden? That's okay, he doesn't either. But I give him a little bit of credit; he did more to try to stop the Israelis than Trump ever did. He at least spoke out against the atrocities that everyone was witnessing by saying the Israeli conduct in Gaza was "over the top", even if he ultimately failed to make a difference...
But I'll tell you this: both of these parties have been captured by lobbies that represent foreign interests and the military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about decades ago. They don't represent the American people anymore, and I'm happy to see that more Americans are waking up to this fact, especially on the Republican side of the isle.
It took them a little bit longer to wake up, but that's probably due to many of them being Christian and believing that we must support Israel no matter what because "God's chosen people" and all that other assorted lunacy.
But even Christians have their limits on supporting genocide it would seem. Would Jesus be cool with 20,000 children being systemically exterminated for the ambitious idea of "Greater Israel"? I have my doubts.
"Well, if we don't support Israel, God will smite America!", says Lindsay Graham. These are the people in charge. This is the mantra. If you don't tow this insane line, you're labeled antisemitic or a traitor or both.
America first was supposed to drain the swamp, remember that? And now Trump has become a swamp creature. He's just another Bolton, another Cheney, another Bush, another Rumsfeld.
