Why the one true God acted as he did and acts as he does is directly related to his character, which you’ve blasphemed. Your irreverence doesn’t change the fact that there is no God besides him. God is good and the Messiah isn’t an idolator.
If God were a person doing these things, we would put him in jail and throw away the key.

You know I'm right, Matthias.

I know you’re at enmity with the one true God and, if that doesn’t change, you’re going to be destroyed in the lake of fire.

But... I'm not wrong.

Your Christian school let you down. You’re wrong about God but you‘re right that you would throw him in jail and throw away the key if you could.

I would hold him accountable to the law. If a perfect God cannot think of another way to solve problems except through violence, then he is not divine nor is he perfect.

You have a flawed understanding of God.

You have a flawed understanding of God.
Anyone can read what it says for themselves. In the story of Exodus, God murders children. It isn't flawed to say this is morally reprehensible.

Are you in favor of the death penalty?

Yes. But not for children.

If you knew in advance that the children of the Canaanites would do unspeakably wicked things to themselves, to their children, to their neighbors in other countries when they became adults, would you be for the death penalty?

I would never be in favor of the death penalty for children.

Go back to Genesis. How many men, women and children were destroyed in the flood?
The flood was even worse. Mass murder of everyone except for Noah and his family.

You don’t know what God knew.
I know that they're all just stories. Hence why God doesn't do those sorts of things anymore.

You would allow them to sacrifice their own children, among other things.

God put an end to it and now you would lock him up - if it were in your power to do so - for having done so.

Executing the incorrigibly wicked -> while you would have let them continue.

I know that they're all just stories. Hence why God doesn't do those sorts of things anymore.

How could he not do those sorts of things anymore if they are just stories?

If I were to use the same excuse, you'd call me a monster and a child killer. But because it's God, any atrocity is permitted.

It’s not an excuse. God knows what you are and what you aren’t.

But because it's God, any atrocity is permitted.

God doesn’t need anyone’s permission to destroy the wicked. It’s the wicked who accuse God when he acts against them.
