Blood representing the blood of others, self-inflicted for no Godly cause for salvation. Death, eternal death....not being saved and Paul is not to blame as he warned that wolves would spread thin and attempt to destroy the sheep, even within the congregations, and 'kill' many of them if they could, to be void of the truth that brings salvation.

(Act 20:29) I know that after I leave, some men will come into your group. They will be like wild wolves and will try to destroy the flock.
(Act 20:30) Also, men from your own group will begin to teach things that are wrong. They will lead some of the Lord's followers away from the truth to follow them.
(Act 20:31) So be careful! And always remember what I did during the three years I was with you. I never stopped reminding each one of you how you should live, counseling you day and night and crying over you.

I'm going to guess, (especially in light of the teachings of modern MS Christianity), that what may be controversial in this day and age would be the fact that Paul does not appear to consider any of them to be already totally "saved", which must be so, for he is essentially declaring to them that their blood is still "on the line" depending upon how they navigate their own trials and tribulations which are yet to come "in Meshiah", (or "in Christ").

I don’t think it’s likely that anyone will see anything peculiar or controversial about Acts 20:26. If someone does, I’m willing to take another look at it.

Compare the sentence structure in Acts 20:26 with the sentence structure in what Jesus said on the cross.

Take 1 preserves the belief of the prophets, the Messiah and the apostles in the inherent mortality of the person and resurrection of the dead to life when the Messiah returns; the dead are made alive.

Take 2 promotes the belief of the Greek philosophers in the inherent immortality of the person and eliminates the concept of resurrection of the dead; the dead are alive.
