That's what you say but that's not specifically what this scripture says. My statement still remains. If you're in sin you can't be saved until the sin is removed, so, what scripture tells you how/when and at what point your sins are removed? It's not the one you posted.
[2 Corinthians 5:19 KJV] "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation."
When we are in Christ are sins are not imputed to us which means they have been removed from us

When we are "in Christ" you said. How do we get to be "in Christ"? What scripture(s) tell you how one gets "in Christ"?

[Galatians 3:26 KJV] "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus."
[Galatians 3:27 KJV] "For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ."
By faith in Christ we have been baptized into Christ by the Spirit

Exactly. We're baptized into Christ; no other way. So, by one's belief which us followed by faith, we then are obedient to the gospel, and repent and are baptized into the body of Christ and become Christians, children of God, and members of the body of Christ which is his church.

Ask that thief upon that cross
The thief was forgiven by Christ as he forgave others while alive, under the OT! Baptism wasn't a requirement of salvation until Christ died, at which poitgd NT began. Read Hebrews 9:16-17

16For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

It's a false argument trying to relate the thief on the cross with baptism.

It's by immersion in the water that enables contact with the Spirit, so, no baptism into Christ, no contact with the Spirit whuch means no cleansing of sin, no contact with the cleansing power of Christ's blood.

you sure like to add to scripture are you a Calvinist. when scripture says who so ever shall call upon the name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED... we have to be lost in order to be saved /born again regenerated

Acts 2:38

38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22:16

16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Romans 6:3-5

3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

The Ethiopian eunuch called upon the name of the Lord and was saved as recorded in Acts 8, as also required by Romans 10:8-10; but what else was required that the Ethiopian eunuch did? He was asked to confess his belief, which he did, but then was baptized into Christ. How did he know that baptism was also necessary? Philip obviously told him as part of his preaching if the gospel to him. Read the account.

And Paul was also told to call upon the name of the Lord as recorded in Acts 22:16. He was also told to be baptized to wash away his sins.

Acts 22:16

16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Acts 2:38

[Acts 2:1 KJV] "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place." ............Pentecost is a Jewish feast day
[Acts 2:5 KJV] "And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.".............There were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem
[Acts 2:14 KJV] "But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:"...............Peter was preaching to Jews. He said men of Judea (Jews) He said all that dwell at Jerusalem (Jews as seen in v5 above)
[Acts 2:22 KJV] "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:".........again Peter was only preaching to Ye men of Israel
[Acts 2:38 KJV] "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
[Acts 2:39 KJV] "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call."...............Peter was commanding Israel to be baptized for remission of sins not us. The promise was to Israel who was there at Pentecost and those afar off which were scattered Jews outside Jerusalem

Acts 22:16

16And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
[Acts 22:12 KJV] "And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt [there],".............Ananias was a devout Jew who would observe water baptism upon conversion and at this time Paul would know of baptisms
Romans 6:3-5

[1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV] "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."............Paul in Romans 6:3-5 is speaking of Spirit baptism not water
