Where does the Spirt of Christ dwell in us? = John 3:1-10 = in our spirit

That which is Spirit is spirit = in our spirit

God created us 3 Dimensional = Body , Soul , Spirit

Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,
it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

1 Thess 5:23 - May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through.
May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

No the Spirit of Christ dwells in your soul. He breathed life into Adam and he became a soul that was alive.

You do not have a spirit. Spirit = life and life is of God only.

Even if you had a spirit it would not be able to give you eternal life because it's Christ in you - in your soul - that gives you eternal life

You are talking through both sides of your mouth at one time. Does man have a spirit or not outside of Christ?

Jesus' Spirit is the Spirit of the Father. When you are born of His Spirit - that is when eternal life IN CHRIST is given to you. Your spirit of life does not exist and never has existed. ALL life is of God who is the only source of life.

Adam had a body and a soul. He became a living soul when he received the spirit (breath) of God - the source of all life and all existence.

When he sinned, he lost his connection to the source of eternal life (the Spirit of God) and he stopped living forever.

As solomon told you, until Christ when Adam and all his descendants die, the body returns to the dust and the spirit to the God who gave it. Spirit = life. God is the only source of life.

The baby born into the world has life but that life is not eternal life. The souls of babies and children who die will most likely go to be with Christ, like the adults who have been born of the Spirit and have been given eternal zoe in Christ. The soul of the unsaved goes to hades when the body dies.

soul and spirit are not the same thing.

It's such a simple gospel children will be able to understand it.
Did your read the Scripture in Post 179?

God created us with 3 Parts with a body , a soul and a spirit

Watch where the spirit is when God sends someone to hell = Matt 10:28

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.
Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Notice God does not throw the spirit of man into hell so = Where did the 'spirit' that was in man go???
It went back to God who gave it = Ecc 12:7 , Proverbs 20:27

For then the dust will return to the earth, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.
The spirit of a man is the lamp of the LORD, searching out his inmost being.

No the Spirit of Christ dwells in your soul. He breathed life into Adam and he became a soul that was alive.

NEVER in our soul = NEVER

READ Matthew 10:28 again = God removes the spirit of man that was made in the image of God

The triune makeup of God lends strongly to the view of the triune makeup of man. Man is made in the image of God – tri-partite – body, soul and spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 declares, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole (1) spirit and (2) soul and (3) body blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Man is not therefore simply spirit, Man is triune like. We are made in His image or likeness. Many conveniently leave Christ and the Holy Spirit out of their evaluation of God. We are made in that image. There is body (Christ), soul (the Father) and spirit (Holy Ghost) to God, like us.

We all have 2 opposing invisible natures within us – one earthly, natural and sinful, the other, heavenly, spiritual and holy. These are both hidden as is the Father and the Holy Spirit. Both are revealed in a physical manifestation. With God it is in Christ. With us it is our outward physical form. Scripture differentiates between the three distinct parts of man. It also divides between the two invisible parts of man. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

The Word expressly dissects between the old natural soulish man in us and the new spiritual man. It also exposes “the thoughts and the intents of the heart.” Even now while I am speaking, the Holy Spirit can take something that I say from this Word and apply it to something in your life.

The quickening /resurrection of the spiritual man that occurs upon salvation affects the whole being. It places the whole person (body, soul and spirit) under new ownership thus causing the new birth of the person. Whilst we are tri-partite we are also unitary like God. For the body and soul to be saved the spirit must be quickened.

What is the result of being born of the Spirit?

"If Christ's Spirit is in you,

1. your body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit (of Christ) is your (eternal) life [zoe] because of (Christ's) righteousness.

2. Moreover, if the Spirit of the one who raised [egeiro] Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised [egeiro] Christ from the dead will also quicken [zōopoiéō] your mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you." (Romans 8:10-11).

Therefore in Colossians 3:4 Paul wrote:

"When the Messiah, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."

"Ye are buried with him [sunthapto] in baptism, wherein also all of you are risen with him [sunegeiro] through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him [egeiro] from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him [syzoopoieo], having forgiven you all trespasses." (Colossians 2:12-13) *

* Christ's dead body was quickened - not His Spirit:

"If the Spirit of the one who raised [egeiro] Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised [egeiro] Christ from the dead will also quicken [zōopoiéō] your mortal bodies through his Spirit who lives in you." (Romans 8:11).

So using the same Greek words in Ephesians 2:4-6 that he used in Colossians 2:12-13, Paul says,

"God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us, Even when we were dead in sins,

(1) He has * syzōopoiéō (quickened together with) Christ, (by grace ye are saved);

(2) and has * raised us up together (synegeírō)

and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 2:4-6).

* The word "has" in Ephesians 2:5-6 is past tense: Christ's dead body has (past tense) been quickened and raised, and those who belong to Him have been (past tense) quickened and raised together with Him.

"Ye are buried with him [sunthapto] in baptism, wherein also all of you are risen with him [sunegeiro] through the faith of the operation of God, who has raised him [egeiro] from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him [syzoopoieo], having forgiven you all trespasses." (Colossians 2:12-13)

It's talking about the positional reality in Christ of those who belong to Him, and it's because (and through) the following two facts:

"Christ is risen [egeiro] from the dead, and become the first-fruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection [anastasis] of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be quickened [zoopoieo: made alive]."
(1 Corinthians 15:20-22 ).

Paul never conflates quickening of the resurrection of the body with quickening and resurrection of a so-called dead human spirit.

"I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you."
(John 14:19b-20b)

Paul called this "the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints,

which is Christ IN you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27),

So Paul says,

"If then ye be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life [zōḗ] is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life [zōḗ], shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory." (Colossians 3:1-4).

The word zoopoieo (quickening, being made alive) is being applied to the mortal body in all the above verses.

When your body dies one day, it will go to the grave. Your soul will go to be with Christ - WHO IS YOUR LIFE. His Spirit will quicken your mortal body that died - because you have part in the quickening and resurrection of HIS body BY HIS SPIRIT IN YOU, WHO IS YOUR LIFE.

When the body of someone who is NOT born again dies, it goes to the grave. The soul goes to hades. The spirit of the life it had goes back to its only source - because

- the One God who exists from eternity unto eternity is a Spirit (John 4:24
- and the source of all existence, and all life [zoe]. The life [zoe] that is in Him is eternal life [zoe aionios].

God alone has/possesses life [zoe] in Himself (John 1:4; John 5:26).

Have you ever heard someone say, "I have eternal life because God has given me eternal life"?

Eternal life [zoe] never becomes something we have in ourselves. Of all human beings ever to have walked on the earth since Adam and Eve, only to the Son of God (the Man, Jesus Christ) has it been given by God to have eternal life in Himself (1 John 5:11-12 & John 5:26).

Eternal life [zoe] is given in Christ Jesus to the seed of created human beings (1 John 5:11-12) but it never becomes something we possess in ourselves; hence it never becomes the possession of the seed of created human beings.

I must go now. Will carry on with this another day.
Why would His Spirit need quickened? He was never spiritually dead. Only His body needed quickened.

@Zao is life

The WORD that was GOD is Spirit
The FATHER is Spirit
the Holy Spirit is Spirit

The THREE are ELOHIM from Genesis chapter 1

Genesis 1:26 - Elohim Said: “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.
Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. -
Romans 8:9

CHRIST's Spirit never died = only His physical body died on the Cross = "Father into your hands I commit MY Spirit"

So you don't know! and you are here teaching!!!
You Premils are all so childish. As if he doesn't know the answer to his own questions? The answer to all of the questions, of course, is Jesus. So, since scripture like Acts 26:23, 1 Corinthians 15:20, Colossians 1:18 and Revelation 1:5 all teach that Christ's resurrection was the first resurrection, why wouldn't that tell you how to identify what the first resurrection is all about in Revelation 20? Do you believe that we spiritually have part in Christ's resurrection when we become saved/born again?

Except the thread is still going and people are still reading and the facts in the OP remain the same - and you're still posting.

Nothing is destroyed except your integrity (which is what you yourself have accomplished by your own hostility from the start, and continue with) and the fact that you have not answered the simple questions to back-up your claims.

A few Amilliennialists on this board always seek to destroy threads by the kind of trolling with hostility and insults which has been seen once again in this thread - but so far neither your hostility nor the hostility and insults of others has succeeded.

By the way, you and your hostility are on ignore now along with the other two Amil trolls who frequent almost all threads with the same MO so continue with your "puffed-up in my self-righteous religiosity (relgiousness devoid of Christian evidence) hostile ways".

It will only continue to destroy your own integrity, which you have already made a good job of doing.
You troll people and hurl insults more than anyone on this entire forum. You have no self awareness. And, what do you do when your view is challenged? Run and hide. You put people on ignore and pout like a little child.

You are in DANGER

You and the amils are not sitting on thrones = you are on earth.

Your religion blinds you to the very TRUTH of God's words as you continue to add and take away from his words.

And to the one who overcomes and continues in My work until the end, I will give authority over the nations.
He will rule them with an iron scepter and shatter them like pottery—just as I have received authority from My Father.
And I will give him the morning star.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

I testify to everyone who hears the words of prophecy in this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and the holy city, which are described in this book.

He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
You are way out of line here, buddy. You are applying Revelation 22:18-19 to Amils, which is absolutely ridiculous. Do you not understand that Revelation 22:18-19 is talking about anyone who PURPOSELY adds to the words of the prophecy of the book or takes away from them will be condemned? You are condemning Amils by associating us with that passage. You are making it as if having the correct end times doctrine is a requirement for salvation. You need to stop your foolishness.

And the fact that @Davidpt liked your post shows that he condemns Amils to hell as well by associating that passage to Amils. You guys really need to grow up.

You don't get your understanding from scripture, that's for sure.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul says we have a spirit. And a soul. And a body. Listen to Paul.

This is a testimony that they have lost the battle. The bitterness is so palpable. They go there every time their doctrine is exposed.

The LORD Jesus Christ did not not come down from Heaven to make us amillennialites.

Christ Saved us so that we can have Eternal Life by Knowing the FATHER and the SON and this Knowing comes to us from the HOLY SPIRIT.

We are not called to be proponents of amillennialism.

We are Called to be Filled with the Holy Spirit and led by the Spirit into TRUTH
When we allow the Holy Spirit to be our Guide, HE always leads us to glorifying CHRIST

GOD Saved
us to be conformed to the Image of Christ

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

amil is a man-made doctrine, and the DOCTRINE = amil purposely alters the clear words of Revelation when it says things like:
a.) we are ruling now on thrones
b.) the First Resurrection of Rev 20:4-6 is only spiritual
c.) Satan is bound now/today in prison according to Rev 20:1-3 = MAJOR LIE
d.) there is no literal 1,000 year reign as SPOKEN by GOD = denying His Word

From Lion and Lamb ministry

The amillennial view does not stand the test of either the Scriptures or reality.
  • How can anyone truly believe that we are currently living in the Millennium? Society is disintegrating before our eyes, and the Bible says it will get worse the closer we come to the Lord’s return (2 Timothy 1-5).

  • How can anyone truly believe that Satan is bound today? The Bible says “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

  • How can anyone truly believe that the Church is reigning with Christ over the nations? Try telling that to persecuted and suffering Christians all over the world.

  • How could anyone truly believe God has no purpose left for the Jews? After 2,000 years of dispersion all over the world, they are being regathered to Israel in what Jeremiah calls a miracle greater than the deliverance from Egyptian captivity (Jeremiah 16:14-15).
Let’s stop playing games with God’s Word. Let’s allow it to mean what it says. Bible prophecy is really not hard to understand. It’s just hard to believe. If you will believe it, you will understand it.

Those who have indoctrinated you have sold you a false bill of goods. Where does it teach millennial bliss in your only proof text Rev 20?

[*]How can anyone truly believe that Satan is bound today? The Bible says “the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

You have been given the Scriptures and you careful duck around them as Premils do. That is because Scripture is Premils greatest enemy on this subject.

[*]How can anyone truly believe that the Church is reigning with Christ over the nations? Try telling that to persecuted and suffering Christians all over the world.

We are reigning now. We are kings and priests on earth now. The "dead in Christ" are kings and priests in heaven now. After we enter into this resurrection we enter into our eternal reign in life on earth (in its yet imperfect sense) and in glory (in its more perfect sense). We reign in life and we reign in death. We reign in time and we reign in eternity.

Please read Romans 5:17, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”

We are positionally reigning now in life through Christ. Such was secured through Christ’s victorious work at Calvary. There, Christ defeated every enemy of righteousness – including sin, death, the grave, hell, Satan, sickness, the demonic realm, and so on. The people of God, being “in Christ,” have therefore entered into that victory and have been given kingdom authority over the demonic realm through the blood of Jesus when moving in the Spirit and in the will of God. In fact, the word "shall" in the King James Version doesn’t actually appear in the original but is added by the translators.

Revelation 5, which is evidently located before the Second Advent, describes the same kingly/priestly reign of the redeemed in heaven, saying, “they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast (aorist active indicative) redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made (aorist active indicative) us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth” (v. 9).

There is little doubt this scene is current and relates to a time-period preceding the second coming of the Lord. Moreover, no reasonable Bible student would surely deny that the reading relates to anything other than the redeemed situated in heaven. Here, the disembodied spirits of the elect in heaven are seen reigning as kings and priests now. Significantly, and like Revelation 20:4, the dead in Christ in heaven are described (in relation to their kingship and priesthood) as “hast made” – proving this is speaking of the current fulfilment of the same. The aorist active indicative demonstrates that this is ongoing in this intra-Advent period.

John sees those that have been saved in heaven and explains how they continue in their kingly/priestly position. Here we see the two spiritual offices that believers (dead or alive) exercise and enjoy “in Christ.” They are kings and priests. The humble servant-hood of the true believer and his self-sacrificing walk is connected to his priestly position, whereas his reigning in spiritual power and authority is related to his kingly office.

This dual role of kingship and priesthood is not just restricted to the redeemed in heaven, or does it commence at entry into the heavenly shore, it begins upon this earth at the new birth. The family of God today are positionally reigning as kings and priest in both heaven and on earth. They perform such an awesome function in and through the person of Christ and His impeccable life, His atoning death and victorious resurrection. In fact, 1 Peter 2:9 says of the Church presently – intra-Advent, Ye are a chosen generation, a royal (or kingly) priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.”

We are kings and priests today. The demand of a priest was to make a sacrifices and intercede for the people. We fulfill that spiritually, not in an Old Testament sense. The responsibility of a king was to reign and exercise authority and power within the kingdom. We fulfill that spiritually, not in an Old Testament sense.

We are presently a kingly priesthood. This is current and occurs before the second coming of the Lord.

[*]How could anyone truly believe God has no purpose left for the Jews? After 2,000 years of dispersion all over the world, they are being regathered to Israel in what Jeremiah calls a miracle greater than the deliverance from Egyptian captivity (Jeremiah 16:14-15).

What was the condition for a biblical return to the land?

Let’s stop playing games with God’s Word. Let’s allow it to mean what it says. Bible prophecy is really not hard to understand. It’s just hard to believe. If you will believe it, you will understand it.

Again, zero evidence. Just more noise.

What is it that is dead that need brought to life in an unsaved human?

Our spirit is dead in trespasses and sins; it is not without life because it is through the spirit that man possesses natural life in the flesh. It is not a resurrection that our natural spirit receives through the Holy Spirit in us when we are born again! Our natural spirit is infused or introduced to a new quality of life that is absent from all of humanity until we have been born again. That's why Paul says "we were dead in trespasses and sins" because without knowing we have eternal life through the Spirit in us, we are indeed, dead in trespasses and sins, being ordained to die in our sins!

It is quickened by the Holy Spirit and raised from the grave of sin. This produces new life.

1 Corinthians 15:45-48 explains:

The first man Adam was made a living soul [Gr. psuchē].”

“the last Adam was made a quickening [Gr. zōopoieō] spirit [Gr. pneuma]."

And continues, “Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.”

Keeping in mind the awful separation that occurred when Adam spiritually died when he partook of the forbidden fruit in the Garden, and allowing for the fact that all mankind was represented in Adam in that Fall, we now see the great reconciliation that is realized between God and man through Christ in the act of salvation. The sinner is made spiritually alive and brought into mystical union with God through the person and work of Christ, by supernaturally receiving life and by being spiritually revitalized.

This text teaches us that our “natural” ‘soulish’ man came first; the “spiritual … heavenly” came second. This is talking about our old man and our new man. The old man is dead unto God and controlled by natural understanding and natural feelings. Our new man is our spiritual man who has been raised from spiritual death. He is God-conscience, and alive unto God. These two natures are in conflict with each other.

The Greek word interpreted "quickening" is zōopoieō meaning to produce alive, to cause to live, make alive, give life. Metaphorically, it describes seeds quickened into life, i.e. germinating, springing up, growing.

We are talking about regeneration here! We are looking at the translation of a man from death to life. This is indeed supernatural, and is instigated by the Lord. The phrase "a quickening spirit" is talking about the initiator of life Jesus Christ; a quickened spirit is the recipient of that life.

It is quickened by the Holy Spirit and raised from the grave of sin. This produces new life.

Yes, our spirit is quickened not raised or resurrected from the grave of sin. Quickened through the power of God in us, with new heart/mind/will that now desires to serve God, which is not through resurrection but through new birth, that's when we become a new man in possession of eternal life both knowing and entering the Kingdom of God in heaven through Christ's Spirit in us.

I have showed the Scriptures repeatedly. So you know them. Very clear.

Do you believe we are tri-part beings – body soul and spirit?
