I believe it meant the new wine could only be poured into the new creation that we become when we are born again. We are the new wineskins. Old covenant Israel could not contain the new wine. They needed to be made new.
Let's examine Revelation 20:4 yet again.

Yes their hearts were failing them for fear I'm sure....those were terrible times. Do you think the sun and moon turning black and stars falling from heaven had to be literal? Stars falling from heaven referring to those who were falling away....sun and moon turning black, meant the church and the gospel of Christ were not shining their light...the church was under such heavy persecution at the time....many were martyred, many were falling away, and the rest had to flee Jerusalem as per Jesus' prophetic warning and instruction. No sun and moon left shining in Jerusalem when the faithful were all gone, either dead or fled or fallen into apostasy.....thus Jerusalem was left desolate.
I don't think we should assume Satan's little season suddenly happens overnight......it takes time to deceive and gather the deceived. It sure looks to me that he is on the move in a big way these days:

This is Soon Coming but has NEVER occurred in World History =Revelation 13:13-18
And the second beast performed great signs, even causing fire from heaven to come down to earth in the presence of the people. = This has NEVER occurred in World History
Because of the signs it was given to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived those who dwell on the earth, telling them to make an image to the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet had lived. = (this could be Trump)
The second beast was permitted to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship it to be killed = AI never before in World History
And the second beast required all people, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark—the name of the beast or the number of its name. = Never before covering the World

When expressions are used like, 'Your views are completely different from God's Word', what is really being said is, my point of view is the same as God's, oblivious to the arrogance which rolls off the tongue or the pen in this case.
Learning in real terms has ceased and one's opinions are conflated with God's.
It behooves us to recognise that opinions are our right but to conflate them with God's, is slippery territory.

I'm trying to trust Jesus at His every word, but understanding and parsing His every word is another matter, much less that remembering His every word all at the same time is very difficult for me. As I've tried to convey, I believe some things still wait to be fulfilled, but a lot of what was prophesied both by Jesus and the OT prophets did happen "to the Jew first", in the first century, which is a pattern/ensample for the end of this age as concerns the Gentiles. Is it not true that Rome was an empire that encompassed all the known world/nations at the time and her army would have been composed of conscripts from all nations? Jesus came for the Jew first......the prophesies (His word)...oracles of God......were given to Israel first and are/were speaking to the Jew first, then the Gentiles.
Jesus was standing there in Israel talking to His own people after the flesh and prophesying that not one stone will be left on top of another......abomination of desolation....Jerusalem surrounded by armies.....etc. To the women who were weeping for Him, He said to weep not for me but weep for yourselves and your children who were of "that generation" who would sadly and tragically be living through the things He prophesied.

And there followed him a great company of people, and of women, which also bewailed and lamented him.
But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.

And I'm afraid Israel will receive a second judgment in the end too....Isaiah says she pays double for her sins, and that agrees with Rev saying to "double unto her double". If Israel doubles down on her rejection of Christ with a new Temple, animal blood sacrifices and another abomination of desolation, will not the Lord, sadly, judge that?
Yes, though I do understand really because I never saw it either until a few years ago....but having seen it, by God's grace, I can't unsee what is now as plain as the nose on my face. However, there is nothing new under the sun and I believe, as Solomon wrote, what has been will be again.

Here are just Two Prophecies of the LORD that has Not occurred as yet = Matt 23:37-39 and John 6:35-40

Revelation chapter 6 is another Prophecy of the LORD that exposes the lie of "we are in satan's little season now/today"

If you believe their is any error in the Scriptures that i posted or in the way i posted them, feel free to elaborate.
Also - when i post i am very specific = especially when a lie is being perpetrated by doctrines of men!!!
Therefore, when a person holds to a doctrinal error, they will feel as if they themself is being attacked.
This was the main obstacle with the pharisees, with Catholics, with Protestants(especially Baptists) with ecumenicalism, with SDA with Watchtower followers and on and on...
Our Heavenly FATHER is Calling us to come out of Mystery Babylon = the place of all false doctrines/teachings
EXAMPLE:

I am sorry to hear that and pray for relief for you but the Lord knows our hearts too.
My point is to not just state that we are wrong without hearing our interpretations and for you to consider our interpretations and then come to your own conclusion and not to tell us that we are professing lies of men. That is not graceful debating in love but condemnation.
