What does Israel have to perform?Jeremiah 31:31-34,
- I will forgive their iniquity and I will remember their sin no more
This covenant is CONDITIONAL.
It is not conditional God will perform his covenant......................Nowhere does Jeremiah teach this covenant is made without conditions.
The new covenant is future when Israel is in all the promised land, so of course they didnt fulfill it and couldnt, God will have to do it all for IsraelNational Israel never fullfilled Jeremiah 31.
The scripture I gave you say otherwise here the are againJeremiah 31 cannot be fullfilled in unbelieving Israel because,
They do not know the Lord,
Their sins are not forgiven
The law is not written in their hearts
You have a faulty translation. Jesus shed his blood for the new testament NOT the new covenant....................[Luke 22:20 KJV] "Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup [is] the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you."The new testament teaches the new covenant is fulfilled in the church not Israel.
Luke 22:20,
- this cup is the new covenant in My blood which is shedfor you(the church)
Once again a faulty translation. The KJV reads.........[2 Corinthians 3:6 KJV] "Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life."Paul says the church ministers the new covenant.
2 Corinthians 3:6,
- who also hath made us(believers in the body of Christ) able ministers of the new covenant NOT OF THE LETTER(Jewish old covenant law) but of the Spirit
Really? In Rom ch2 Paul states the law is in gentiles hearts at that time(14:15)The new covenant is future when Israel is in the land and is made only with Israel not the body of Christ
Romans 2 is directed to Jews its not about us becoming spiritual Jews. In the body of Christ there is no Jew................[Galatians 3:28 KJV] "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."
It is written to believing Jews who are being urged not to revert back to the Levitical temple worship to escape persecutionHebrews is written to christians not unbelieving jews.
As I said Hebrews is written to BELIEVING JEWSThey are warned not to fall away proving they cannot be unbelievers.
Hebrews 6:4-6,
- those who were once enlightened and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit
You cannot teach on this subject as you are too ignorant of what the new covenant is.u have a faulty translation. Jesus shed his blood for the new testament NOT the new covenant
Priests are mentioned 960 times in scripture but Paul says NOTHING about it, nor does Paul say Jesus is our High Priest. He is Israel's High PriestJesus Christ is the High priest for all He came to save.
Jeremiah 31 says nothing about all nationsThe New Covenant that was prophesied in Jeremiah 31 was for a remnant of those from the House of Judah and Israel, along with the remnant of all nations.
An individual Jew had to believe on Jesus to have eternal life by believing on his name, not yet by the blood of his cross..........Like I said before, the church has been indoctrinated or infiltrated with this false doctrine of salvation for a whole nation of people. God saves us individually. He's not saving us because we are a particular ethnicity. There's one plan of salvation for all of humanity.
The new covenant says who it is made to and its Israel...............[Jeremiah 31:31 KJV] "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:"Really? In Rom ch2 Paul states the law is in gentiles hearts at that time(14:15)
Through the law we become conscious of sin Rom 3:20
All Christians are conscious of sin in their hearts, therefore law is in their hearts.
All Christians know there sins and lawless deeds will be remembered no more
All Christians know there is no more sacrifices for sin.
The covenant dispensationalists insist is only for Jews at a future time, is now, practically speaking fully reflected in the lives of gentile believers.
But God will cause them to keep his statutesThere is no unconditional covenant. Even the text you quote right here says: you shall keep my statues.
Context determines whether its translated as testament or covenantThe Greek word used for new testament is diatheke.
It means covenant.
New testament = New covenant linguistically and theologically.
Jesus is our mediator between God and man.Priests are mentioned 960 times in scripture but Paul says NOTHING about it, nor does Paul say Jesus is our High Priest. He is Israel's High Priest
There is a relationship between the new testament and new covenant in that for God to forgive the nation of Israel's sins in the new covenant Christ had to shed his blood to forgive their sins committed under the old testamentYou cannot teach on this subject as you are too ignorant of what the new covenant is.
You need to be taught before you can be a teacher.
Hebrews 9:15 - and for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament that by means of death
The Greek word used for new testament is diatheke.
It means covenant.
New testament = New covenant linguistically and theologically.
Luke 22:20 - this cup is the new covenant(new testament) in My blood which is shed for you
Jesus shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins, Matt. 26:28.
If Jesus did not shed His blood for the new covenant and by your doctrine this covenant is for the jews. Then the jews have no forgiveness of sins.
Jesus can be our mediator without having to be a priestJesus is our mediator between God and man.
Mediator is the priestly role.
Exodus 28:1 - and take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother... that he may minister unto me in the priests office
A priests role
Represent people before God.
Represent God before the people.
This is mediation.
Priests explicitly act as mediators.
Deuteronomy 5:5 -I stood before the Lord and you at that time to declare unto you the word of the Lord
Moses functions as a mediator and Moses also functions in priestly roles, Exodus 24; Psalm 99:6
The priest is the one who gives the sacrifice.
Jesus is that sacrifice.
1 Timothy 2:5
- one mediator between God and men the man Jesus Christ
The new covenant is Jesus' will and new testament as the Greek translators of the new testament make clear to us.There is a relationship between the new testament and new covenant in that for God to forgive the nation of Israel's sins in the new covenant Christ had to shed his blood to forgive their sins under the old testament
