@saved by grace 101

YOU posted to ME.

And I REPLIED.

YOU did not.

Perhaps you'd like to try again?

Here is post no. 431 to which you DID NOT reply:

Did he stop doing what he was doing?

Then he was doing the will of the Father.

He did not have the POWER to stop before calling out to God.

Do you know any businessman that claims to be Christian and claims to have called out to God and persists in whatever sin he may be addicted to?

Or do you know any businessman that comes to God and then returns to his sinful behavior?

There are many examples in the Christian life.
One thing is for sure:
Jesus said to obey Him.

Some do it out of love.
Some do it out of fear.
But those that do it are the ones that are doing the will of the Father.

Those that do NOT obey, are living against the teaching of Christ.
And THIS is the point that must be made....

NOT the reason any particular person obeys.

You keep bring up the NC.
I've stated to you that every covenant demands obedience, including the New Covenant.
You never replied to that either.
If you want answers to questions, you must be prepared to answer others questions, which you are not prepared to do. That in itself shows your lack of confidence concerning subjects you like to discuss

So if I quote the plain words of scripture three times what is written in it does not make it right?
Youve never received a reply to your question. Lol, you won't answer any questions I've asked you, you just start bearing false witness in order to deflect away from answering. But I will answer it, same way Lizbeth answered it to you
Under the OC you MUST
Under the new covenant, you WANT to obey.
It is how you obey you do not understand
Yes sir.
And I never will receive a reply from those that post as you do because the reply would be too uncomfortable.

Here's the question AGAIN:

AFTER salvation, are we required to obey God?

Simple question.
Simple answer.

Youve already had the answer. However, you seem to think you are only required to obey God when you decide to. I will repeat, in order to deflect from answering a question of mine you started bearing false witness against me. See, what you are writing is not your reality is it

Its an immature question anyway. Applicable law is in the hearts and minds of believers, meaning in their mind they know how God wants them to live and in their heart they want to live that way. Which is why, though I can commit sin, I cannot do so casually without conscience as you appear able to do

Not what I asked.

Here's the question AGAIN:

AFTER salvation, are we required to obey God?
We are required to have faith in Christ, we are required to know we have no righteousness before God of obeying the law, that is obeying God, and we are required to see obdience through such faith.

Sin is the transgression of the law 1John3:4
Therefore:
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law/not committing sin, rather through the law we become conscious of sin Rom3:20
Are you confused?

Why is it impossible to reply a yes or no to this question?

We are required to obey God at all times after salvation.

Simple.

No confusion about the Law.
NO ONE is saved by following commands.
NO ONE is saved by works.

BUT
AFTER salvation we are required to follow the commands of God.
This is what Jesus taught.
This is what Paul taught.
This is what all the writers of the NT taught.

HOW we obey God has changed in the NC...
NOT
the requirement to obey Him.

GOD has ALWAYS demanded OBEDIENCE in every Covenant beginning with the Edenic Covenant.

Youve been given the answer many times now
Once again under the old covenant you MUST obey
Under the new covenant you in your heart WANT to obey

If you are under you MUST, aren't you condemned? You pick and choose when ytou want to obey and when you do not.
Anyway, why should I answer anymore questions of yours, firstly answer this, do you agree with the following?
Sin is the transgression of the law 1John3:4
Therefore:
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law/not committing sin, rather through the law we become conscious of sin Rom3:20

We are not saved by works...
but we are saved by obeying God.

We are saved by God's grace through our faith:
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

We must obey God after salvation:
Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

John 3:36
36 "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

You just do not like the reply.

My last comment:

God does not ASK us politely to do obey Him...
GOD DEMANDS that we obey Him.

As I've stated:
The HOW (of the New Covenant)
does not eliminate the WHAT. (of all the Covenants - obedience).

MUST to YOU means that we get to pick and choose when to obey or what to obey?
There is much confusion here.

I asked you specifically if you agreed with Rom3:20 bearing in mind 1John3:4, we have no righteousness of oberying the law/not committing sin. As usual you ducked answering.
When I got saved at the age of ten, I believed Jesus died for my past sins, then I MUST obey God's laws/not commit sin to remain saved, as you do now. For you are making statements that have no other inference. You MUST obey God's laws. If I asked you what happens of they are not obeyed, you will respond you cannot be saved, you have to.
Therefore, your right standing before God does not hinge on faith in Christ, it hinges on obeying the law

As your right standing before God hinges on obeying the law, bearing in mind you transgress the law, do you expect to be cast into hell?

Here's what salvation hinges on:

1. Belief on God.
2. Obedience to God.

We need both.

Now to your verses:

Romans 3:20
19 Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;
20 because by the works of the Law no * flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

We are not saved by our good deeds.
Have stated this a couple of times now.

1 John 3:4
4 Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.

Of course.
John learned this from Jesus, who stated:

Matthew 7:23
23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART
FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.'

Jesus explains WHY He never knew them...
because they practiced lawlessness.

And if we read just a few verses down John states:

1 John 3:7-8
7 Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;
8 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.

We are told by John to practice righteousness.
We are told that if we practice sin we are of the devil.
John tells us that Jesus appeared to destroy the works of the devil.......
that would be sin.

Sin is DISOBEDIENCE to God. The very difinition of sin.

We'll let God be the judge of that.

But that is known as deflection....
Really, deflection? We MUST obey God's laws you said. Do you mean a watered down version or the pristene level they are set at. Heres some examples, how are you getting along:

Let’s start with the Ten Commandments:

Do you ever put anything before God in your life?

Do you ever build any graven images in your mind?

Do you always honour your parents without exception.

Have you ever looked at a woman with lust in your eye? (Jesus ratified the commandment)

Have you ever fibbed about anyone, or been untruthful about a person in anyway?

Have you dwelt on any impure thought?

Do you ever desire ANYTHING of your neighbours, whether material goods or a member of their household?

Do you fully obey the law relating to the inner man, the law only you and God need know you break?

Jesus commands:

If someone asked to lend from you would you gladly lend to them without ever expecting anything back?

If someone stole from you, would you offer them more than what they stole with nothing but love in your heart for them?

Do you not invite friends or family home for a meal, but rather the poor, blind, lame and beggars?

If you have ever fasted, have you even hinted to anyone you are fasting?

Do you truly in your heart love your enemies, those who may malign, harass or persecute you?

Do you leap for joy if you are persecuted?

Second greatest commandment

Do you always truly love all those you come into contact with in thought, word or deed, constantly, including our enemies, those who may be unkind to us, persecute or harass us?

All examples of what it takes to obey the TC, Christ’s teaching and the second greatest commandment.

I say YES.

The reply does not require a statement of several sentences.

If we DO NOT OBEY

Is it so difficult to reply to my scripture?

AFTER salvation...are we required to obey God?

Once again I see I am the only one prepared to answer questions put
The believer is required to live under a righteousness of faith in Christ(as I told you)
The believer must die to righteousness of obeying the law(as I also told you)
Obedience is required via faith(as I told you also)
However, all believers stand guilty before God's laws, you me and everyone else
So, when you say we MUST obey God's laws, you fail the test
The believer in their heart already desires to live as God requires them to live. Your statements mean righteousness of obeying the law, and you fail that test
