Now.
If we could just convince you to DECLARE that God MUST be obeyed.
Problem is, although YOU MUST is old covenant Im afraid you make matters worse by saying you MUST to law you will always stand guilty before. Paul knew what he was talking about in the verses Ive often quoted to you, no licence to sin for the law remains in your heart and will stay there as long as you live

As Lizbeth said, the only time she recalled Jesus using the word MUST was when he said Ye MUST be born again. You need to be willling, which a truly born again christian is, for God has put the desire in their heart to live as he wants them to live
You MUST old covenant
You WANT in your heart to obey, new covenant
What if I decide that I don't really want to?

Isn't sin, as in 1 John chapters 1 and 2, the fact that at that moment I don't want to?

Is it OK because I don't want to?
No. It is NOT OK.

God does not make requests.
God demands.

Jesus said MANY times that we must obey Him.
IF we are born again...which we MUST be ...
then we are also required to obey Him
REQUIRED.

Required is a MUST.

Well Ive committed sin, as everyone does, maybe my experience is different to yours, but I always come back and say I am sorry, for the law in my heart and mind, gives me no rest and no peace until I come before my father in Heaven and tell him I am sorry for my folly. And I always will say sorry, as surely as night follows day, only then do I get my peace back

I stated a long time ago that I agree that in the - let's call it - the Old Covenant (the Mosaic)
God told the Israelites that IF they obey....
but there was no indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

In the New Covenant,,,God has supplied a METHOD by which we CAN obey.

But obey we msut.
Where, in the New Covenant does it state that obedience is abolished?
God has ALWAYS wanted obedience since the Edenic Covenant.
You've never addressed this fact.

The METHOD changes.
The REQUIREMENT remains the same.

Its you want now, not you must. And with that belief and knowledge:
By their fruits ye shall know them

Everybody sins.
The MUST does not mean the person should be perfect.
NO ONE is perfect except Jesus.

It just means that it is what God rquires.
THIS is WHY you confess....
because you have NOT done what God requires.

Yeshua explained the oneness concept in detail. They are not one.

In other words you refuse to allow what God says in His Word to get in the way of what you believe, got it.

1 John 5:7
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are One.

Yes.
It's YOU WANT now.

THAT IS THE METHOD.

The requirement of obedience to God REMAINS.

Isn't the reaosn you confess because you did NOT MEET that requirement??

Why tell people they MUST look to a law that is already in their heart and mind? You must know in your mind what has been placed there, and you in your heart desire to live according to what has been placed there. You MUST obey the TC means you will concentrate on that law, which you will always stand guilty before. Better to look to Jesus and trust him.

Everybody sins.

Speak for yourself.

What kind of sin are you in to?

Molesting children? Watching porn, smoking crack, mugging little old ladies, spittin on the side walk?

Please do tell what kind of works of the flesh that disqualify people from entering God's Kingdom do you enjoy

You have God's applicable laws in your heart and mind

Yes I do.

As surely as night follows day I will say sorry for my folly, aren't you the same?

Saying sorry for your folly isn’t biblical.

Confessing your sins, and being forgiven is.

Many Calvinist’s don’t confess there sins because they have been taught there is no need to, because all there future sins are already forgiven.

No.
YOU are concentrating on the Law.
YOU keep speaking about THE LAW.
THE LAW is dead and was abolished.

Philippians 4:8 Keep your mind on things from above, on good things, things of God. (my words).

Stop trying to understand what Paul was speaking about.
Listen to what Jesus taught and obey Jesus.

None of those BB.
But don't you realize how HOLY God is?
I'll bet we sin every day.
God is perfect...He is blinding light.
We all sin and need the forgiveness offered to us.

So you don't sin, so you claim to perfectly obey the law regarding the inner man, the law only you and God need know you break?

No.
I don't see that.
Persons come on these Forums and make statements that make it sound as if we don't even have to obey God anymore.
You may not MEAN it this way --- but that's what it sounds like.

We have to repeat what Jesus taught.
Jesus taught that thsoe that do the will of the Father are going to heaven.
He taught that the Lawless will not see heaven.
He taught that we are to ACT on His words.
He said that we are the LIGHT of the world.

It seems really easy to me.
God is Holy and we sin every day.
Not those big sins @Big Boy Johnson mentioned, but in little ways....
getting mad at someone is sinful...

It's still wrong even though we do it.
And that's where the MUST comes in...

it's a way of understanding that God is perfect and we are not
and so we need His forgiveness for NOT OBEYING HIM.

You tell someone they MUST obey the TC, what impression will that give them? Heaven hinges on it. You MUST. There is no way a person will not then concentrate on that law, you will concentrate on what you believe your eternity hinges on

I'll bet we sin every day.

So you're a gambler and you engage in sinful behavior every day, got it.
So you don't sin, so you claim to perfectly obey the law regarding the inner man, the law only you and God need know you break?

Maybe someday you can grow up spiritually and get off milk and get on the meat of God's Word.

I can do all things thru Christ that strengthens me - Philippians 4:13

Through God's promises I partake of His divine nature - 2 Peter 1:4

Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 13:14
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Hebrews 9:14
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Romans 6:4-6
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
