Are you willing to give me some scriptures for your belief instead of an imogee
Before we go any further answer this question .

Do you understand that it is the Holy Spirit doing the speaking no matter if it is a man or woman that the message in tongues is coming out of ?

We have the completed Word to build the church

‘The bible without the power of the Spirit to give understanding to walk in the truth of the word is nothing more than words on a page.

Or as Paul says… having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
2 Timothy 3:5

Jesus said… But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 1:8

‘Why would the Lord not want us to have power to be witness to demonstrate the Gospel the way Jesus did, and like the Apostles did?

I think Satan doesn’t want us to have power to cast out devils and heal the sick and raise the dead, and cleanse the lepers.

What verse for this please
Why do you ask me the verse when you're in a dilemma, where you copy and paste scripture to fit your own doctrine?

Those who speak in tongues, scripture does not mention whether male or female, but rather in general male or female.

Paul did not say they should be silent completely, but rather they speak it out and interpret for the audience, so that the whole church shall be 'edified'.

And he also allow, 2 or 3 to speak at a time and the others take turns.

On the other hand ch. 11, Paul speaks about women who pray and prophesy, and not call them to be silent, but rather have a covering when doing so.

My opinion means nothing But lets look at scripture to inform our understanding
[1 Corinthians 2:10 KJV] "But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."............the Spirit reveals to us the deep things
[1 Corinthians 2:11 KJV] "For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God."........we cant know the things of the Spirit on our own
[1 Corinthians 12:6 KJV] "And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all."
[1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV] "To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another [divers] kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:".....these verses say the Spirit operates and works in regard to tongues

So yes I agree the Spirit gives them what to speak

Sorry but what is it you are arguing against I dont get your point
What does this have to do with saying prophesying and tongues werent needed after the scripture was completed

How I view scripture may not always be right but it is based on what scripture says. I "copy and paste" scripture that upholds what I say and is the basis for what I say

I gave verses that show ONLY MEN are to speak in tongues

In the following verses only men speak in tongues. There is no verse that attributes speaking in tongues or permits women to speak in tongues..........[1 Corinthians 14:4 KJV] "He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church."
[1 Corinthians 14:5 KJV] "I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying."
[1 Corinthians 14:13 KJV] "Wherefore let him that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue pray that he may interpret."
[1 Corinthians 14:27 KJV] "If any man speak in an [unknown] tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most [by] three, and [that] by course; and let one interpret."

Your church and not ours, for we have nothing in common, but just want to expose your fallacy.
I said tongues would cease as does Paul............[1 Corinthians 13:8 KJV] "Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away."

‘It has everything to do with the false doctrine that teaches us that the gifts of the Spirit, and especially tongues which is a result of the baptism with the Holy Spirit (the power of God) that was poured out on the day of Pentecost has ceased.

Maybe women needed to be silent because there was a lot of angry noisy protests after they were told the old men needed to be crusified.....lol :-)

I will tell you what i think this passage is saying

Tongues were to edify/build up the church...............[1 Corinthians 14:26 KJV] "How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying."

[1 Corinthians 13:8 KJV] "Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.".............Tongues will cease, but when?
[1 Corinthians 13:9 KJV] "For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.".............they only knew what scripture was given them. It was still being given. Tongues were to to edify the church, to make up for what hadnt been revealed as of yet by scripture
[1 Corinthians 13:10 KJV] "But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away."............the perfected(completed) Word of God made tongues obsolete. Tongues had nothing left to edify the church.

Knowledge as a spiritual gift will cease...........[1 Corinthians 13:8 KJV] "Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away."

It doesn’t say knowledge as a spiritual gift.

It says knowledge.

The Bible is knowledge.

When that which is perfect comes has nothing to do with the Bible.

It has to do with God Himself, when He comes and dwells among us, and we see Him face to face.

We won’t need the knowledge of the Bible to teach us about God, we will know Him even as we are known by Him.

This passage is about love.

God is love.

  • For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face.

Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. 1 Corinthians 13:8-12

[1 Corinthians 12:8 KJV] "For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;"

The Bible is knowledge.
Yes we have the knowledge from having the complete Word of God not from the prophesying of tongues anymore................[Ephesians 1:17 KJV] "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:"
