I do not believe the verse is speaking about Satan being the God of this world. Satan is called the Prince of the world (not a God and not a King) but not the God of it.

You believe wrong.

God gave Adam dominion over the world to rule this world as a "god" under the Lordship of God the Father.

But, Adam as you know bowed his knee to the devil submitting himself to darkness and thru that has given that dominion over to satan which will not stop until Jesus returns and locks satan and his demons up as Jesus starts His 1000 Year Reign.
