Well, that is your version of events...adopted in ignorance of the facts.....but let’s take the Bible’s Words, since you know what it teaches...right?
Are you well versed in Matthew ch 24, Amigo?
This is the chapter where Jesus gives us all the evidence for his return...how well have you considered what he said...not in the KJV English translation, but in the original language of the NT, in the gospel written by Matthew?
How did Jesus’ Jewish audience understand what he said?
There are some glaring anomalies when we compare Greek to English in that chapter....
First of all Jesus was asked a question by his closest companions, his apostles....after describing what would happen to Jerusalem and it’s grand Temple....”not a stone left upon a stone”....all that represented God’s worship on earth was to be destroyed....why? Because the Jews had corrupted it beyond all redemption. No Temple has been rebuilt on earth for 2000 years.... so no natural Jew has been able to offer the required sacrifices to God for all that time.
Matt 24:3...KJV...
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”
Seems pretty straightforward in English, but what does it say in Greek to indicate something that this translation does not convey?
“Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, [parousia] and of the end of the world [aiōn]?”
So the disciples did not then know when Jesus was coming back for them, and asked for a “sign” [
sēmeion]
to indicate to them that it had taken place. What was the point of a “sign”, if his return was something that all would see and recognise? There is more to this one sentence than a cursory reading would indicate....
They asked for a “sign”, not of his “coming” but of his “presence”....understanding that his return would not be a public event. The sign that he gave was multifaceted....so that they would know with certainty that all together, one “generation” would see all the facets of the sign, and know that he had returned.... unseen and unnoticed by the world....in “the same manner” as he left. The world at large were unaware that it took place....only his apostles witnessed it.
Jesus’
“coming [erchomai] on the clouds, with power and great glory” was something yet future......referring to what happens after his “parousia”....incognito.
The last days of this “age” [
aiōn], begin with Christ’s return, and end with his final judgment. He has been here all this time, separating the “sheep from the goats”.....
After warning about false, deceptive shepherds, acting in Jesus’ name, he told them what to look out for....
Vs 4-8....
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (KJV)
The “signs” he gave to indicate that he was already here, were....unprecedented war, food shortages resulting in widespread famine, pestilence (disease pandemics) and earthquakes....not in one locality, but in “divers” or “various places”. This was to be observed globally. Have we observed it? What is the unprecedented war in this age or era?
We are living in the time period he spoke about, when he is about to make his striking appearance as judge of all the earth. And
“judgment starts with the house of God”. (1Peter 4:17-18)
Are we awake to the devil’s deceptions? Don’t we have to know how long his deceptions have been imposed on the members of Christendom’s churches, who accept them as valid Bible teachings.
Now is the time to extract ourselves from “Babylon the Great”....But first we have to know who or what this “greater Babylon” is. (Rev 18:4-5)
She is identified by her doctrines, which all originated back in that ancient city with the first rebel after the flood....Nimrod....a character whose influence is featured in false worship around the world.
What are the doctrines that originated in ancient Babylon, that are held in common in all false worship?
* Multiplicities of gods, especially triads....in contrast to the one true God of the Bible, Yahweh. (Deut 6:4)
* Immortality of the soul....supporting satan’s lie that you don’t really die. (Gen 2:17; 3:4)
* A hell of eternal torment for the wicked.....something that a God of love would never even think of doing. (Jer 7:31)
Those who support those doctrines are in bed with the harlot.....
Are you one of them, Amigo?
