If I had been Peter, a "Well done, my good and faithful servant." may have been more what I wanted to hear.

Why did Jesus say what He did to Peter?

Matthew 14:29-31 NIV
“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Because He did not have the faith that can move mountains in fact !
Because Such is to be in clearly in a God given state, not one of only just religious devotion, but that of the Saved ! why well because one is then The Body of Christ Jesus as He is the Head their of !
This had not came yet, such only came when Jesus became The Christ Jesus, when he went to Heaven !

Jesus walked on the waters ! this is in regards Gen 1 , and the Spirit of God was stirring above the waters.

Peter had not been Saved yet, so not good and faithfull servant, for he knew not ! One must abide in Christ Jesus in fact !
Peter was chosen because he had what it takes to be.

The wind here is This world ! Peter did not have such in the bag. he needed help ! and in the form of who ? Salvation in the Lord ! such was in regards Oh you of little faith.

Little faith is a good thing but such is not the big picture. you need the faith that can move mountains in fact ! so if your faith is not 100% you are not Saved ! but being in regards the track to be saved if you have some faith.

That sounds contradictory.
Saved by some faith, or 100% faith?

It's in fact Biblical !

Blind faith is worthless !

Oh you of little faith ? is not a good thing because such a one is not Saved in fact ! but it's a start ? but not what Christ Jesus clearly wanted in fact ! this is exposed in that Jesus said of them, who he never knew !
Oh yes they say Did we not do x, y, z for you ? No ! for they were only Religious and never truly knew or served Christ Jesus at all in fact !

That's the issue, the Religious do not Save ones Soul. Only Jesus can do that !

Who is it that believes in blind faith ? such as they were never Saved, they can turn their backs on God, for they never truly knew him.

Do not worry I have heard the simple faith line many years ago, untill I got Saved ! it's about knowing ! not only just believing in things that have not truly sunk in ?

If you believe ? you will be saved ? it means you may be on the path of being saved ? It does not mean you are Saved ! Once one is truly Saved you know ! because you are not 99% sure ? your 100% ! their can be no doubt !
If one hads doubt's you can be stolen away by Satan. Look at all of the stupid Priest who became child molesters etc They are all clearly Devils ! and so are all who supported such as they in fact ! no one could be so stupid !

Maybe Peter's faith problem is not about with regard to Understanding of the truth that Jesus spoke.
Peter's little faith comes from that he can't believe he can Walking on water like Jesus.
Maybe Peter can't equate himself with Jesus.which is son of God.

But Jesus didn't let him drown and neither are we lost when we have doubts PROVIDED our faith & trust remains ONLY in the death, burial & resurrection of Christ to save us.

So you never occurred to you that you could educate your children to exist like Jesus. It's like this is a big "mountain", and you can never move it.

ABSOLUTELY but is moving a big "mountain" more important than entering eternity ?

I think this is equally important.becaus we unity with Christ in one.we shall be as the image of Christ.
If moving a 'mountain' is EQUALLY important as entering eternity then Christ would have taught that through His chosen Apostle Paul and Minister Paul to teach that to believers 'today'.
Can you list the verses ?

The Gospel of Luke
3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

3:5 Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

3:6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

It all depends on what the metaphorical meaning of "mountain" that Jesus was inferring in the verse about the power of prayer.

If Peter couldn't walk on water, Jesus wouldn't have told him to come to Him.
In many places Jesus teaches that we humans can manifest miracles.

Okay,I know that For example, when I talk to a girl on the phone, but I have never met her.But I can feel her face through the sound of waves.
But I believe that it doesn't come from my ability, it comes from the ability that God gave me.(Daredevil 2003)

Or 7 days and 7 nights without sleeping or eating. That's also not from my ability either. We don't live by bread. But living by the word of God .

He took his eyes off Jesus and let the world consume him again just like today. No one here has the faith to walk on water.

Immediately after Peter began to sink while walking on water, Jesus caught him and said,"Oh you of little faith why did you doubt" This occurred after Peter, having walked on water toward Jesus, became fearful of the strong wind and lost focus, prompting his cry for help
