Do you have any evidence where someone predicted the significance of the year 1948 prior to it occurring? For example, is there any written record of someone, let’s say in the 1800’s, who used the Bible to predict exactly what took place in 1948, or is it only after the fact that people are able to come up with ways that the Bible predicted the year 1948?
I don't find anywhere in Scripture a prediction of 1948!
GB, if we read Genesis 15:16 we are told that, "16
But in the fourth generation/age they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete."
Now in 1948, some of Abraham's descendants return to the land of Canaan in their own strength and claim that the land of Canaan was theirs to live on and establish the Nation of Israel with dominion over the land of Canaan. Now the fourth age of the existence of Israel from the time of the birth of Isaac started in the year 1021 AD and ended in the year 2044 AD. Now Isaac was born at the very end of the year 2052 BC, and in 1948 AD the Nation of Israel was established in the Land of Canaan, exactly 4,000 solar years after the year Isaac was birth.
Now in Exodus 20:4-6 we have this prophetic word given: -
Exodus 20:4-6: - 4 " You shall not make for yourself a carved image — any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations/ages of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."
such that the visitation of the fathers' iniquities upon their children occurred from 4 BC up to and including the year 2044 AD after which God declared that He would begin gathering Israel to Himself.
This spoken time of God walking contrary to Israel is recorded in these two passages: -
Firstly, in Jeremiah's lamentation over Israel in: -
Lamentation 5:19-22: -
19 You, O Lord, remain even to the vanishing point in time;
Your throne will still remain for an age and an age. {i.e. after two ages}
20 Why do You forget us for so long a time beyond our ability to grasp,
And forsake us for such a long a time?
21 Turn us back to You, O Lord, and we will be restored;
Renew our days as of old,
22 But You seem to have utterly rejected us,
And are still angry with us!
and also in
Hosea 6:1-3: - A Call to Repentance
6:1 Come, and let us return to the Lord;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
2 After two days {within God’s timeframe of reference
[1]} He will revive us;
On the third day {within God’s timeframe of reference} He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
3 Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
The difference between when some of Israel returned to the Land of Canaan in 1948 AD and when God will begin gathering Israel to Himself in 2045 is 96 solar years.
GB I hope that you can follow the above scriptures and confirm that what I have presented is true.
rwb: - Your statement that scripture does not mention 1948 as to year that the fig tree will begin budding leaves once more is true, but God's prophetic word in Genesis 15:16 gave us a time span in which it would occur. 1948 AD does however confirm the prophesised age in which some of Abraham's descendants would return.
Shalom
