17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles. - Acts 22

6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
8 And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas. - Acts 16

From Jerusalem, to Phrygia, to Galatia, to Mysia, down to Troas... No profit... No luck... Forbidden in Asia... Forbidden in Bithyhnia.... An apparent total waste of time. A vision from God needed! And granted! Thankfully the upcoming nine and tens!

9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. - Acts 16:9-10

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city. - Acts 18:9-10

When Witnessing is a Waste of Time?
(Now.) Like the two witnesses in the book of revelation.

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: (Indeed.)

It is the responsibility of Christians to witness. Even if rejected it stands for a witness on Judgment Day.

It is the responsibility of Christians to witness. Even if rejected it stands for a witness on Judgment Day.
The word being rejected has some value, in that it proves the righteousness of God before the host of heaven again. But it is essentially worthless after judgement day.

The Glory God receives doesn't elevate his opinion of himself. It elevates him in the minds of his creation, so that we can begin to comprehend his majesty. And the more we understand the higher we will realize him to have always been.
