I pray Jesus speaks through all the addresses. This makes it look like Jesus is a speaker. This is sacrilegious. The Chosen is not good.
This church age has done that . OH lighten up it cries . THEN wonders how on earth evil took over .This is IDOLATRY. No one is claiming a show is taking "the place of, or supersedes Scripture." The Chosen is just entertainment, Christian entertainment, and there is nothing wrong with being enriched by amusement from time to time. My wife likes to sing even though the songs are not in the Bible.
Lighten up while you still can.
Take a good long look at every single picture .This makes it look like Jesus is a speaker. This is sacrilegious. The Chosen is not good.

JESUS dont speak through an anti christ or its int efaith anti christ interreligious dialgou e .I pray Jesus speaks through all the addresses.
What I found disturbing was the way that images from the show would start playing in my head when I read certain stories in the Bible. In some places, the show had taken over my imaginative response to the written word. My ability to meditate on the stories and form my own ideas had been seriously compromised. Indeed, the strong emotions I experienced in connection to the way ‘The Chosen’ interpreted them made part of me not even want to.
I’m sure it’s obvious that that presents a serious problem. Our response to Jesus should come most dominantly from reading his Word—since that’s the only completely trustworthy place we can go to find the true Jesus. So when I realised the propensity for my heart to be more strongly influenced by ‘The Chosen’ than Scripture, I had to make the decision to leave off watching it. The temptation was just too strong to dabble with.
Hello Stevesonthebay, how are you all? We have viewed the video: "The Complete Last Supper-The Chosen," and we are still studying when Yeshua said: "Take My Yoke Upon You And Learn Of Me." Is To Us The Only Way To Live, As He Has Said, To His Father's Kingdom. Because Of What The Scriptures reveal, rightly divided unto Him Day And Night. To follow His Steps: Submission In Business: verses 18-25. 1Peter 2I have been watching the Chosen series and I think the Last Supper from the most recent series is most relevant this Easter.
I don't mind the way they have made this series of Christs ministry and so far up to the last supper and His arrest. Season 6 comes out in November and I am looking forward to seeing it. Very real and brings to life Christs crucifixtion and resurrection.

Season 6 - The Chosen TV Series

Another series I was watching on Prime was 'The House of David'. I got up to where David had defeated Goliath. But I have not renewed the subscription as I got bored with it.
I like these independent and crowd funded series and movies as they cover stories the mainstream would not cover. I am a visual person and having some backdrop and putting some flesh to the stories makes them come alive.
I also like the 'Bible Expidition' series as they bring real places in the bible to life on the ground. You can imagine how it was back in those times.

Expedition Bible
Expedition Bible brings you the teaching of Joel Kramer, a biblical archaeologist and former expeditioner in his younger years. Joel teaches by "taking you into the Bible," showing you Biblical sites, and giving you context, evidence, and experience to understand Scripture more profoundly...www.youtube.com
The many unbiblical fictions, unseemly additions, and false portrayals of Christ in The Chosen do not bother you at all?I have been watching the Chosen series and I think the Last Supper from the most recent series is most relevant this Easter.

Hello Anchorite,The many unbiblical fictions, unseemly additions, and false portrayals of Christ in The Chosen do not bother you at all?
I would hope that the written gospels alone could be vivid to us, and not need irreverent film presentations to enhance the events in our minds.

@amigo de christoBlessed be the man in whose HOPE BE THE LORD JESUS THE CHRIST .
but cursed is the man who fol lows ecumiencal intefaith for it shall all end ON HIS DAY with the lie and those who made and lo ved a lie .

Hello, Sister Marvelloustime: Interesting post, my wife has not seen it yet. How are you all? We are well,

No more than some movie about any history that will also take some poetic licence. I guess it depends on the individual. But I know enough about the truth of the bible to tell the difference and not allow it to put my faith in doubt. The many unbiblical fictions, unseemly additions, and false portrayals of Christ in The Chosen do not bother you at all?

It doesn't bother me at all since it is a fictional story and the creators encourage people to read the Gospels to learn about the real Jesus. One thing our culture gets wrong that the ancients understood is that just because something is fiction does not mean it is false. The many unbiblical fictions, unseemly additions, and false portrayals of Christ in The Chosen do not bother you at all?
To put this sentiment in metaphor, the show is a mirror. So I guess its a matter of how one sees things.
You'd need to point me to what you're referencing with 2 and 3
Did you see my clarification?#2. Was Solomon’s temple re-built in 3 days? John 2
14 In the Temple area he saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; he also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money. 15 Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple ...“Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!” ... 18 But the Jewish leaders demanded, “What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it.” 19 “All right,” Jesus replied. “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”20 “What!” they exclaimed. “It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple, and you can rebuild it in three days?” 21 But when Jesus said “this temple,” he meant his own body.
ANALYSIS:
The key to a lie is deception. Approximately 400 times in Scripture, "this temple" refers to Solomons's temple. The narrator knows this is how Jesus' audience interprets "this temple," which is why he added v21, which helps the reader - not the audience listening to Jesus words. No where in the text does Jesus mean what he says and says what he means in defining "this temple" to be an exception in this context of something other than Solomons's temple.
It's like lying to your wife that you'll be home by 9 PM from drinking with the boys but then tell the boys you meant a time zone 6 hours behind making your wife have no right to being angry when you stroll in the door at 3 AM, adamantly claiming that from that other "perspective" only the truth was told to her.
No, Solomon's temple was not rebuilt in 3 days. Saying so, implying so is a lie. Plain and simple.
#3 Is cannibalism approved by God in the OT? John 6
47 “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life. 48 Yes, I am the bread of life! 49 Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but they all died. 50 Anyone who eats the bread from heaven, however, will never die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will live forever; and this bread, which I will offer so the world may live, is my flesh.”53unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you cannot have eternal life within you. 54 But anyone who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life ... 61 Jesus was aware that his disciples were complaining, so he said to them, “Does this offend you? ... 66 At this point many of his disciples turned away and deserted him.* 67 Then Jesus turned to the Twelve and asked, “Are you also going to leave?”
ANALYSIS
'This bread is my flesh,' eliminates the possibility that Jesus is speaking metaphorically. The bread is the metaphor defined by Jesus as literally meaning his flesh. And he emphatically says to eat it over and over again. (He doesn't say this bread is my spirit.) The audience properly interprets Jesus words as advocating for cannibalism, which is not a blessing but a curse according to God. Click here. Just like the question of whether the girl is sleeping or dead, is Jesus talking about:
X. breadY. fleshZ. something else (like spirit or substitutionary sacrifice of life-for-life)?
If he's talking about something else, why does he keep talking about bread and flesh knowing his audience is reacting to his curse, which eating flesh is? Deception, which profoundly violates 2 Cor 1:13 (VOICE) We are not writing to you in anything resembling codes or riddles. The intent to deceive is so extreme, even to the point that his own disciples walk away from him! No Christian apologist in their right mind would adhere to deceptive language to the point of having, not only unbelievers walk away, but even fellow Christ followers. Come on now!
Knowing someone is deceived by what you said (emphatically and repeatedly) and you choose to let them remain deceived by your words rather than kindly speak the plain, simple truth falls short of the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
* IMO, this (John 6:66)is the saddest verse in all of Scripture.
Yes, I did. It's given me much food for thought. I need to let it ferment.Did you see my clarification?
The food for thought you need to let ferment is that Jesus Christ never lied or sinned in any way. To claim that Jesus was deceptive, where do you think such blasphemy has its origin?Yes, I did. It's given me much food for thought. I need to let it ferment.
