One thing I realized as a young man is the Left’s totalitarian view of politics. It doesn’t end for them. OK, we disagree on public policy X; I’ll see you at church, work, at the neighbors cook out, and we’ll work together on many other public policies we agree on.

First, it was cancel culture. Then, Supreme Court Justices very lives are being threatened, including Bret Kavanaugh and just last week, Amy Barrett. The Jerry Springer show comes to mind. Everyday people airing tabloid style storylines on national television. And then, getting into physical fights.
That show aired for many years. And only grew worse.
And it wouldn't have lasted as long as it did if there wasn't a demand,a fan base,for it.

And I recall that the general public later on started to behave the same way. Only brought to our attention because of social media and everyone with a cell phone able to memorialize bad behavior. And upload it or live stream as it happens.
