Christians killing Christians. It’s madness.

A couple of years ago I was researching miracles of wars. I read about this story. It really happened. WW1 began as a gentleman's war, with both sides cordial with each other, but all the soldiers on both sides were transferred afterwards. The Great revival of the 1800's had ended and fruit spilled into the 1900's.As the war progressed, it got nasty. However, just as it is today, many called themselves Christians, that weren't. Germany had big celebrations at Christmas, as noted in the video. I read where the WW1 German army killed Christians who refused to go to war. In WW2 Christians were sent to concentration camps with the Jews.

Setting our good conversation about York aside, as well as the issue of whether or not German soldiers in WWI were Christian, do you think any Christians - combatants and / or non-combatants - were killed by Christians during the war?

From the OP -

“Christian hero Prince Vlad”

That’s Vlad the Impaler. Do you think Vlad could be an example of someone who called himself a Christian but wasn’t?

For sure, on the British and American side Christians they were in a battle for their countries lives. Winston Churchill called national days of prayer in all churches during battles. However, I read many stories of God protecting His people.

Vlad was not. Hitler was a Jew. Many imposters in name only. Constantine used the cross to conquer Rome, but wasn't a Christian

So we appear to be in agreement that Christians were killing Christians in the war.

What specifically makes Vlad and Constantine imposters in your eyes?

Being a Christian conscientious objector myself, I’m naturally interested in how nations treat CO’s during times of war.

An article I’ve been reading this morning.

This vid is provocative from the perspective of today's overly spiritualized.

Why not just use a Bible if you are trying to prove that Christianity is Pro-Active?

Paul teaches that we are in a war, and we are soldiers of The Cross.

2 Timothy 2:3-5
King James Version

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good SOLDIER of Jesus Christ.

Paul likens the spiritual fight against evil, in all forms, including against fake believers who teach a cursed gospel of works and water baptism........by showing us a Roman Centurian's body armour as the Spiritual Armour of a Christian.

Ephesians 6:11-18
King James Version

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Imagine that. A "gentlemen's war" (if such a thing exists) turned into a dog fight.

Vlad was eastern orthodox and forced to be Roman Catholic. Constantine tried to be saved at the end of his life, the Catholic way, by baptism.

Thanks. Roman Catholic / Catholic appears to be the common denominator.

Im sure that some Roman's were "secret" Christians, in those times, exactly as you find some Hamas members and similar Muslims are also secret believers.

Thanks.

You are not following Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill.

What do you think about this doctrine?

Thanks.

What do you think about this doctrine?

Jesus never told anyone to kill anyone else.
In fact, when He was being arrested, he had the oppourtunity to kill a lot of people who were coming to take Him as Prisoner.
He knocked them down by the power of His word.......and then he Healed one of them whose ear was cut off.

There is another moment in Jesus's ministry that happened earlier, where He took some cords and fashioned them into a WHIP and went inside the Jerusalem Temple and ran them out with that WHIP............but He never Killed anyone with it.

Jesus is God, and They said to "love your enemies".........so that settles it.

Now, what a real Christian should always be ready and willing to do., is..

Preach
Pray
Die
