@Wrangler wants the followers of Jesus to turn to (and into) Vlad the Impaler. Violence is the only means of defense he wants his readers to consider, ignoring what Chambers calls “our first line of defense” - prayer.

In part 4 of the video, the speaker recommends that Christian men join a “BJJ dojo.“ Do you know, do you understand, what that is @Wrangler? It doesn’t fit with your thirst for killing your enemy.

Is Brazillian Jui Jitsu (a martial art) designed to kill enemies? Google it.

As for the martial arts, what is their religious origin? Do you know?

Later, the Gracie family developed their own self-defense system that they named Gracie jiu-jitsu

Dang, I prefer the name "Gracie jiu-jitsu". I wish it had stuck.

When you force your opponent into submission, it's "Say goodnight, Gracie".

The speaker in the video urges men - not women - to be dangerous. He knows that followers of Jesus includes women.

You are not following Jesus if you aren’t armed, ready to kill.” - @Wrangler

Does the speaker agree with and share your teaching? He doesn’t in the video.

The speaker stresses that he wants followers of Jesus to be harmful.

Does Jesus instruct his followers to be harmful? That question keeps ringing in my mind.

“Be wise as serpents and as harmless as doves.” - Jesus

How harmful are harmless doves?

I’ve watched the video around half a dozen times now. No mention of Vlad. No mention of Muslims. No mention of killing enemies. No mention of joining the military. No mention of guns. No mention of women and children except as victims / potential victims of violence.

Does the speaker mention those things in other videos? I don’t know. He might. His target audience in this video is Christian men.

Grappling. The video in post #1 is advocating grappling.

How we got to “vlading” (I know that’s not a word defined in the dictionary; I’m coining it -> definition: to treat one’s enemies as Vlad the Impaler treated his enemies) is because @Wrangler, not the speaker in the video, led us there.

“Grappling” (consult a dictionary for the meaning of the word) isn’t “vlading”.

Did Vlad the Impaler practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu?

AI Overview answers -

“No, Vlad the Impaler did not practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Vlad III Dracula lived in the 15th century (c. 1431-1476), long before Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was created in Brazil in the early 20th century. He was a 15th-century ruler of Wallachia who fought using medieval warfare and weapons, not modern ground-grappling martial arts. The only modern overlap is that some grappling positions or guards in modern combat sports are colloquially nicknamed ‘Dracula’ for visual reasons, which sometimes leads to online jokes or confusion.”

The constraints of history.

And now a joke -

Unbelieving Jews threatened Jesus with violence on several occasions. How did he defend himself from their violent intention?

“So they picked up stones to throw at him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.”

(John 8:59, NABRE)

In this particular instance he defended himself by hiding and then leaving the area.

The Vlad pushers are stacking the deck. They don’t want us to think hiding and leaving is a possible option. In their scenarios, it’s not an option. In real life, it often is. When it is, it’s a better than good means of self defense when threatened with violence.

How much does a dog leash cost these days? $5? $10? I don’t know. I don’t own a dog right now, but I do have an old dog leash.

What in the wide, wide, world of sports does that have to do with self defense?

I was speaking with a policemen years ago about self protection. (My work frequently brought me in contact with Police Departments before I retired.) He had a number of suggestions. One of them: keep a dog leash on your porch, even if you don’t own a dog. Why? Burglars don’t want to come face to face with a dog in the home. Dog leash = the thought that there is, or may be, a dog around. What kind of dog? A peaceful pooch or a viscous Chihuahua? The burglar has easier targets and passes on.

When I see the dog leash on the porch - the police officer recommended keeping it on the back porch - I’m reminded of my deceased dog. When a burglar sees the dog leash he is reminded that he may be about to be confronted with teeth.

The speaker in the video recommended locking your doors as a means of self defense. Would the speaker object to keeping an old dog leash on the porch as a means of self defense? I doubt it.

They are named after Mars, the god of war.

Vlad was the only thing stopping the Islamic conquest of Christian Europe. He was raised by the Muslims and knew what he was up against. 20K fought off 90K Islamic Jihadi’s.

When Mehmet, the 29-yo conquerer of Christian Constantinople went to Wallachia to conquer but saw 1,000‘s impaled - Ottoman prisoners, traitors, collaborators, rotting for weeks, while some still moved, he got the message. The message was: you are not at the edge of Christendom to conquer but to die. Mehmet turned his army around. And that, boys and girls, is how Christendom was saved from Islamic Jihad.

Would Christianity have survived if every Catholic had been eliminated from the face of the earth?

Search the scriptures for the answer.

Given that, in addition to the Catholics killing Muslims andJews, they killed Christians. Catholics killing Christians didn’t bring about the end of Christianity.

Vlad was a killer of Christians. So are you, but only in your heart / mind.

Christianity will not be extinguished by your - nor by anyone else’s - desire to kill their Christian enemies.

Your enemy is your mission field.” - John MacArthur

That’s the proper way, the biblical way, the Christian way to think about our enemy.

Jesus calls his followers to love our enemy, our mission field. The apostles followed this path. It is the path that leads to life.

The devil calls his followers to hate their enemy, their mission field. Vlad the Impaler followed this path. It is the path that leads to destruction.

Do follow Jesus and the apostles. Don’t follow the devil and Vlad the impaler.

Don’t destroy those whom you are working to bring to Jesus.

Choose life.

A riot in Ephesus (Acts 19: 21-41).

”At that time a great disturbance took place concerning the Way. … When [the Ephesians] heard this they became enraged and began to shout, ‘Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!’”

That’s where my mind drifts to as I listen to an evil man being hailed a hero / role model. It’s not the first time that this has happened.

***

”The Communists convened a congress of all Christian bodies in our Parliament building. There were four thousand priests, pastors, and ministers of all denominations - and these men of God chose Joseph Stalin as honorary president of the congress. At the same time he was president of the World Movement of the Godless and a mass murderer of Christians. One after another, bishops and pastors arose and declared that communism and Christianity are fundamentally the same and could coexist. One minister after another said words of praise toward communism and assured the new government of the loyalty of the Church. …

Orthodox and Protestant church leaders competed with each other in yielding to communism. An Orthodox bishop put the hammer and sickle on his robes and asked his priests to no longer call him ‘Your Grace,’ but ‘Comrade Bishop.’ Priests like Patrascoiu and Rosianu were more direct. They became officers of the secret police. Rapp, deputy bishop of the Lutheran church in Romania, began to teach in the theological seminary that God had given three revelations: one through Moses, one through Jesus, and the third through Stalin, the last superseding the one before.”

(Richard Wurmbrand, Tortured for Christ, pp. 12,13)

I read the book around 50 years ago. I’m re-reading it now.

“Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!“ “Great is Joseph Stalin of the Russians!”

”Great is Artemis!” “Great is Stalin!“ “Great is Vlad!”
