>>>In that case, the mark means nothing if the person's faith is in Jesus Christ.
They had a choice to die but instead chose to live by taking the 'mark'
They chose flesh life rather than being killed for their faith - they willingly took the 'mark'
In nazi concentration camps they were physically forced to have tattoos.

I believe BOTH spiritual and physical

In Deuteronomy which you quoted, God commanded a physical mark/binding that represented the spiritual Way to think & act.

In Revelation we have the same = a physical mark that represents Satans kingdom on earth = "for a short time"

God's words/Holy Scriptures do "mesh perfectly together"

SHOCKER = there are contradictions in the Scriptures = God intended ones for us to solve!!!
Do you believe the mark of God in Revelation is physical?

Nazi is not MOTB
MOTB - take it or put to death, what would you do ?
You are avoiding the question ... if a person was physically forced to take the mark, would he/she be lost?
YES, because they chose to take the 'mark'

You are still avoiding the question ... the fact is that someone could be physically forced to take a literal mark in a totalitarian regime. And at a personal level, a father could physically coerce his wife and children to comply. In that case, is the marked person lost?

Wow! You are promoting another alien gospel. Damnation comes through rejecting Christ, not by taking a physical silicon chip on your skin.

Apparently you know better than Revelation does
Revelation 14:9-11

9And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

What I tried to convey is that I believe the "mark" means "having the understanding darkened" (Ephesians 4:18)

I don't agree. It says they are deceived so that would happen before the mark. The mark itself controls who can buy and sell not a darkening of their understanding which would have already happened in the deception before the mark is given out.

The difference between the literal-spiritual camps is the way the whole text of Revelation is approached.

Using the text to determine the meaning of the words, by comparing how the same word is used elsewhere in the same book, is the only reliable way I know of determining the meaning of a word in highly figurative language.

A dictionary will not tell you the meaning of "sword" in Rev 1 ... even you would agree with that, I think.

I wouldn't agree. A sword or a symbolic sword that kills people is still a sword whether made of steel, or lasers (Light saber?)...to me the same concept.

If their understanding is already darkened, then the mark is not the cause of them being lost.

The "sword" in Revelation is the Word of God ... it is a two-edged sword because it brings life to believers and death to unbelievers.

No! I refuse to impose a false non-corroborative extra-biblical interpretation upon Revelation that does not correspond with the rest of the Bible. Most popular end-time false teaching comes from the Futurist's interpretations of Revelation. They basically make the book say whatever they wish. The major error they make is that they interpret the rest of Scripture in light of their mistaken opinion of Revelation, instead of interpreting Revelation in the light of the clear, explicit, and repeated teaching of the rest of Scripture.

Man's eternal destiny in the last days (like any other day) is determined by their response to Jesus Christ and His precious Word.

John the Baptist proclaimed in John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Jesus said in John 5:23b-24,He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

I John 2:22-23 solemnly asks, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ (or Messiah)? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”

1 John 5:12: He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”

2 John 1:9: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”

That is the reprobation that comes with rejecting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Interpret Scripture with Scripture. Do not invent your own theology through your opinions of the book of Revelation.

Only if it is part of the MOTB and not before.
You can chip now if you want since we are not in the MOTB period :)

This is because the 37-year-old doesn't need to use a bank card or his mobile phone to pay. Instead, he simply places his left hand near the contactless card reader, and the payment goes through. The microchip implants that let you pay with your hand

That's from that link. Already it contradicts Revelation 13. That ch says right hand not left hand.

IMO, in order to gain more insight into buying and selling, maybe one should determine that in light of Revelation 18, for instance? That ch appears to be involving buying and selling. But in what sense though, I'm not entirely certain. Actually Revelation 13-14, 17-19 have a number of things in common.

Revelation 18:9 ¶And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

This would be involving the aftermath of judgment. Revelation 13 is not involving the aftermath of anything. It is involving the era of time prior to judgment. The above passage echoes Revelation 14:11---And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever---where that is then echoed in Revelation 19:2-3---for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

Take note that Revelation 14:11 involves torment as does Revelation 18:10. Yet some would have us believe that Revelation 14:11 = Revelation 20:11-15. Good luck getting Revelation 18:10, Revelation 19:2-3 logically fitting the scene in Revelation 20:11-15 somehow.

On a side note, Premil has to be the correct view since Rev 14:11 can't be meaning the GWTJ since the GWTJ is after the millennium and that Rev 18-19 is meaning before the millennium, otherwise, you would think Rev 14:11 indeed equals Rev 20:11-15. Except it can't because both Rev 18:10, Rev 19:2-3 already prove it can't.

Rev 18:13 is very interesting

KJV
And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

ESV
cinnamon, spice, incense, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and slaves, that is, human souls.

Some see the last item as the slave trade ... others see it as those who are spiritually deceived by "Babylon" ... I lean towards the latter.
