The title of this Bible/Torah study is "Re'eh" (see or insight) concerning the "blessing or the curse." Just as Israel, so many thousands of years ago, had a choice to either follow God and his commandments or go and chase the world and all the false gods and idolatry. Do we have the same choice today? Can we choose the world and the pleasures of the world, ignore God and his commandments, and still receive blessings? Many want just that. What does the Bible say about blessings and curses? Watch the video on this Torah portion, "Re'eh"

Hi Ben,

Yes, we today have that same choice. Actually...and perhaps your study goes into it, I'll go check it out...but the biblical precipice that occurred there and then with Israel following Joshua, was a foreshadowing of our entering into the heavenly promised land. That light unto the gentiles that they made known before us, pointed to that greater heavenly account of following Jesus. In the case of Jesus, He also set before the church "life and death, blessing and cursing", but did so setting flesh and blood as one choice, and what came directly from the Father, when He asked Peter, "Who do you say I am?"

Peter gave the correct answer...but the church, soon after, alternatively began to follow flesh and blood, appointing men over the church between the Bride and her Groom.

I look forward to looking at your study!
