are we judged on works?

thks
Yes, but for Christians, you are judged for good works and receive rewards based in your contribution. But it is not tied to your salvation. Billy Graham certainly received more rewards than most of us will. My Pastor will.

Appeal to Majority.
A lazy man is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who can answer sensibly..Prov. 16:16amq
The majority wouldn't work in Iran, but in Christianity, the doctrine ofnthe Trinity is held by 97%. A doctrine so important, logic would dictate that is we are in fact led by the Holy Spirit, He would not lead most of astray.
Personal attack
Not an attack, just an observation. An ex- Unitarian is obviously not connected to a church congregation and can be described as a lone ranger. Unless you have family and friends who share these beliefs in common. Maybe, but only a 3%
chance they do? So out 50 family members and friends, maybe 1 share your beliefs. Ever think of that, that you the odd ball... or the black sheep the family? And during the holiday get together do you debate or argue your beliefs with them? Or you just keep yours views to yourself. Again you don't have to answer these questions, it's just as numbers go, you aren't going to find many like minded people on the same page.

Spirit led reading brought me to these verses that don't support certainty:
  • 1 Peter 2:2 Grow in salvation
  • 1 John 4:17 MAY have confidence (not certainty)

Another verse undermining certainly, Luke 21:19 By your endurance you will gain your souls.

Why do we have to endure if Jesus did it all?

How Confidant Are You Being Saved?

I have confidence in Christ’s saving grace, but I cannot claim final salvation prematurely. Jesus Himself taught that “he who perseveres to the end will be saved,” so my assurance is lived through ongoing fidelity, not presumption.

Gal 1:11-12 Christ taught Paul the Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4, Eph 1:13 by which we ARE saved, ARE HS sealed & Col 2:13 ALL our sins are forgiven.
Why do you doubt what Christ taught Paul ?

I’m not doubting Paul at all — I’m agreeing with him. Paul teaches that we are saved by grace, sealed with the Spirit, and forgiven, but he also teaches that final salvation is future and conditioned on persevering in the faith (Colossians 1:22-23; 1 Corinthians 15:2; 2 Timothy 2:12). My confidence is in Christ, but I don’t claim the final reward before the perseverance He Himself requires.

Col 1:22-23 - not a condition to be or remain saved & HS sealed
2 Tim 2:12 - eternal rewards/loss issue but not a condition to be & or remain saved & HS sealed.
Final reward/s is different to being saved & HS sealed.
Saved & HS sealed = enter Heaven
Final rewards/loss eg 1 Cor 3:10-15, 2 Cor 5:6-10 is not a condition to enter Heaven

Paul distinguishes present salvation (grace, forgiveness, sealing) from final salvation (being presented holy and reigning with Christ). Colossians 1:22-23 is explicitly conditional — “He will present you holy if you continue in the faith.” And 2 Timothy 2:12 is not about rewards; “reigning with Christ” is the destiny of the saved, contrasted with being denied by Christ. Paul teaches perseverance for final salvation, not automatic entrance into Heaven.

Paul teaches present salvation (justification, forgiveness, sealing) and future salvation (being presented holy, reigning with Christ). The verses you quoted describe how salvation begins, not how it is completed. Paul explicitly teaches conditions for final salvation: “You are being saved if you hold fast” (1 Corinthians 15:2), “He will present you holy if you continue in the faith” (Colossians 1:23), and “If we endure, we shall reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12). Perseverance is grace-enabled, but it is still required. Paul never teaches automatic final salvation.

Paul teaches we ARE JUSTIFIED/SAVED & HS sealed ONLY by trusting in the death/burial/resurrection of Christ
You are teaching AND PERFORMANCE to be & or remain SAVED/JUSTIFIED/HS sealed
List the verses where Paul teaches ANY TYPE OF BELIEVER 'performance' is required to remain saved/justified/sealed.
Just the verses, not mans opinion

Paul teaches present salvation (justification, forgiveness, sealing) and future salvation (being presented holy, reigning with Christ). I already quoted God’s conditions spoken through Paul. Paul says “you are being saved if you hold fast” (1 Corinthians 15:2), “He will present you holy if you continue in the faith” (Colossians 1:23), “If we endure, we shall reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12), and “you will be cut off if you do not continue” (Romans 11:22). Not my conditions — God’s.

ps, Since hear, believe, trust the death, burial, resurrection of Christ is THE requirement to be saved/justified it makes sense that the believe, trust needs to be ongoing

Paul teaches present salvation (justification, forgiveness, sealing) and future salvation (being presented holy, reigning with Christ). You are quoting verses about how salvation begins. I already quoted God’s conditions spoken through Paul about how salvation is completed: “you are being saved if you hold fast” (1 Corinthians 15:2), “He will present you holy if you continue in the faith” (Colossians 1:23), “If we endure, we shall reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12), and “you will be cut off if you do not continue” (Romans 11:22). Not my conditions — God’s.

And you just acknowledged that believing and trusting Christ must be ongoing. That is exactly what Paul teaches: “you are being saved if you hold fast,” “He will present you holy if you continue,” “we shall reign if we endure,” and “you will be cut off if you do not continue.” Ongoing faith is the condition God speaks through Paul.

Justified/saved/HS sealed is ONLY by 1 Cor 15:1-4, Eph 1:13
Performance is NOT a condition to be saved/justifed/HS sealed
Your are twisting Paul to suit your 'works/performance' requirement claim to be & or remain JUSTIFIED

You keep collapsing everything into initial justification. I agree that initial justification and sealing are by grace through faith alone (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:13, 2:8-9; Titus 3:5-7). Paul also teaches what happens after that: “you are being saved if you hold fast” (1 Corinthians 15:2), “He will present you holy if you continue in the faith” (Colossians 1:23), “If we endure, we shall reign with Him” (2 Timothy 2:12), and “you will be cut off if you do not continue” (Romans 11:22). Ongoing faith is not "works/performance"; it is exactly what you yourself called “ongoing belief, trust.” I’m not twisting Paul—I’m quoting all of him, not only the initial‑justification texts.
