1 of the aforementioned "books that were opened?" Not including "the Book of Life."
Is "marked:"
"Acts ATTRIBUTABLE towards Righteousness!"
As were those of Abram before he was renamed Abraham!
Jez sayin'.
This is good. Before a man can be justified by God....he has to show something that can be attributable towards righteousness. Whether by faith or works.

The Book of life is for the righteous and those who DID righteously. They inherit life in the future. It's like salvation in slow motion (at least from our perspective.

Instant salvation is by grace through faith. Such will be judged from a much harder judgment in order to qualify for the Lamb' Book of life.

Then there is God's mercy on His people who do the works attributable for righteousness on that level....to be written in the Book of Remembrance. These also inherit life in the future.

The sheer folly of those who have been indoctrinated to impute their sins to Jesus and then impute God's righteousness to themselves. It would make a Pharisee of Jesus' time blush.

No greater folly could be stated.

We see the rise of antichrist in these dogmatic statements...no fear of God but speaking great swelling words of religious hubris. Like animals that are meant to track down and eliminate.

But there is still time to repent and turn to the living God in Spirit and truth. Let go the false religiosity....and enter into Christ. If not at least OBEY Him.
"The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Is. 53:6.........which agrees with the allegory of the scapegoat when the priest imparted the sins of the people to it. In other words it is true that our iniquity was imputed to Jesus so that His righteousness could be imputed to us.. That is the meaning of the verse that says He was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God.

Your doctrine is convoluted and wrong. Not to mention very unorthodox. I don't know why it is allowed on Christian threads.

As I was pointing out in my earlier post, the Book of Remembrance was for OT saints before the cross and new covenant....that they would be "remembered" and granted eternal life when Christ came into His kingdom. There is no book of Remembrance in the NT.

Except that Jesus was not talking about works apart from faith. By works is our FAITH made perfect. Faith wrought with Abraham's works as it does with ours. We show our faith by our works. So again, it is not works apart from faith. The first and foremost work of God is this: to believe in the one He has sent, which even that faith to believe was a gift from God, not of our own lest any man boast.
Well Lizbeth?
You're HALF right!
Why couldn't have Jesus Christ of Nazareth been speaking concerning BOTH?
Especially when the verse continues:
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

Which kind of brings to light the parable of the good Samaritan.
Was the Samaritan a believer? :contemplate:
I don't think so!
Which grants this Samaritan feller "Acts attributable TOWARDS righteousness", even MORE SO than the so called "Self righteous" ones who did, or NOTHING!

What this SHOULD tell you is that those who do good that don't even know "the law."
Have MORE God in them then some who DO know "the law!" :vgood:

I think we need to be careful not to make these accounts to be saying more than the point they are actually making. Eg, Jesus was showing up the hypocrisy of some of the Jewish leaders........He didn't indicate that the Samaritan was saved. Applying that story to the church, it is true unfortunately that unbelievers sometimes behave better than some Christians. This doesn't make the unbeliever saved but it might call into question the eternal status of hypocritical Christians.

Where do you get that? Not in the bible. That's the Babylonian promise that overturns the truth that all who sin will die. Jesus said that all who sin are a slave to sin. But you brush that off based on reading certain verses that you use to ignore all the others.

Jesus paid for the sins that are PAST. We are called into His victory over sin....not given a license to sin.

Do you admit that you are walking in your own fallen Adamic nature that can't stop sinning?

That's what I'm trying to get you to realize here.

Of course.

false. Many will be IMPUTED with righteousness who obeyed God's commands but don't know Him.

Yes they do. It is both. God gives His Holy Spirit to those who obey Him. Do the work...look it up.

You are saying that Jesus is sinning through you? It's no longer you sinning but Jesus in you? Paul says you are a transgressor. Jesus is NOT a minster of sin.

I see beyond the indoctrination into one kind of verse and then ignore all the others. You are skipping over all that "repentance stuff" to arrive at the naming and claiming part that your self-interest demands.

You should actually read the bible. Everything I write is 100% bible and in context.
Because of a lack of humility and honesty...and also a lack of understanding...people will claim to have a sinful Christ and a sinful holiness. They will claim the verses meant ONLY for saints...and claim to be saints even as they transgress God's laws.

Better to remain humble and claim only to be a sinner. Then there is a chance at salvation.

This sounds like a confession.

You can't see that.

False. Only evil men considered Jesus to be sinful. Why do you side with evil?

WE nailed our sins to His cross. Jesus didn't crucify Himself. Jesus took on OUR sins onto Himself.
You don't understand the bible at all.

If you see that then why do you take up their cause?

That's a huge mistake. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world. Imputing your sins to Jesus just makes you an even greater sinner.

You need to stop with the theorizing and go to God and be actually saved FROM your sins. Right now you want a salvation while you sin.

OR...you could humble yourself and turn to God and seek to enter into Christ. And if that doesn't work...just claim to be nothing but a sinner. Then God could maybe justify you for real.
Wow...what a strange anti-gospel and straw man argument you present.

Tell me why and how you're saved.

No, it't not Jesus sinning in me as you mentioned in a strawman fashion above...It's Jesus who took on my sin and paid the ransom for them.

I'm thinking you should re-read Eph 2 I posted above.

How have you turned to the living God in spirit and truth?
The bible says no man is good....none are righteous.

Romans 3:10 says....As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one.....but you post as if some people can be righteous and gain eternal life through a strange book. You even made a video about it.
The ONLY righteousness you have is what Jesus has imputed to you.

I'm not dogmatically religious. But people are saved from sin by grace through faith into a resurrection life in Christ Jesus. There is NO sinful salvation. There is only a salvation FROM sin at this time. A future inheritance/salvation is a whole other matter. People are not saved later because they claim to be saved now. Quite the opposite. The righteous don't claim to be saved.

Jesus died for the sin of the world. He purchased the world back from the devil, sin, and death with His blood. He was raised for the justification of those who enter into His life in order to overcome sin. Jesus came to TAKE away the sin of the world...not cover it up.

The verses you quoted are about being seated in heavenly places in Christ....you don't get that by reading the bible. You need to be translated into the kingdom realm for that. Of course because you are not spiritual in Christ you will not understands that. It will appear as foolishness to you.

You are still bible illiterate at this point. But you can learn a lot just by reading.

The ONLY righteousness you have is what Jesus has imputed to you.
No. Imputed righteousness is a personal righteousness...not God's. And the righteousness of God covers the saint....it is never imputed to humans. It is an anointing.

"The Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all." Is. 53:6.........which agrees with the allegory of the scapegoat when the priest imparted the sins of the people to it. That is the meaning of the verse that says He was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God.

The irony.... You want a heretical breakaway and crazy monk to represent what Christianity is. Luther failed to connect with God so he made up a pretend status that twists the plain meaning of the scriptures to that end. And the flesh LOVES that false way. So you have taken in the great delusion.

And that verse in Is. 53 should read.... And the Lord caused the iniquity of us all to violently collide (paga) with Him. This is not a sacrificial verse but an experiential one. Jesus suffered because of the transgression of His people...not FOR the transgressions of His people (its MIpesha, not Lepesha)

And the verse in 2 Cor 5 says He was made to be sin by us (by evil men) so that we could FULFILL the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus sends out His disciples as sheep among wolves.

There is one way to salvation over sin and the world...through Christ. There is only one way to the Father. But you are inventing a scheme that goes directly against the many verses that show God will have mercy on MORE than just His house.

You have to read with an open mind and heart...through the eyes of faith, not religious belief. God has made the bible to expose such as those who have no faith.

You are reading but not comprehending.

Among the Jews and His people yes. There is a great lack of faith among believers. This is not a contradiction in terms.

The Israelites in the wilderness believed in God. They had sworn that they would obey the Lord. But God rejected them for a lack of faith. God was not well pleased with them. He swore in His wrath that they would not enter His rest.

And the same goes for us. Many believers will be cast away from God's presence forever. Have you not read the bible? What of those who cry out Lord Lord....and Jesus rejects them because they were LAWLESS. Did they not expect that Jesus would receive them??

So your argument is turned on its head.

You have to believe Jesus...believe His words...obey His commandments otherwise you will be rejected as lawless. You put no emphasis on obedience to Christ so you are fully outside the faith.

Eternal life is a KIND of life to be entered into right now. Whoever is in Christ HAS eternal life right now.

Your reading comprehension skills are very low. If someone is judged by their works...as you suggest... that doesn't mean they are condemned. That means that those who did good works are written in the book...and those whose works were evil are absent from the book.

The last verse lays out the 4 eternal destinies for you.

You have to discern between the the righteous and the wicked (The Book of Life) and between Him that serves God and His that serves Him not (Lamb's book of life)

You are NOT discerning this at all. When a person discerns between the destinies of mankind THEN he can behave in a way that qualifies him/her for the book of remembrance. Just read without the blinders on.

You have gone down a religious rabbit hole here based on unbelief. You need to back up and start again.
I have no desire to “comprehend” your mess of false teachings as though accepting it were some mark of spiritual understanding. I understand what you are claiming. I reject it because the passages you quote do not teach it. Your imagination is not revelation, and insulting my reading comprehension will not turn your inventions into Scripture.

You claim John 3:18 applies only “among the Jews and His people.” Read the context. John 3:16 says “the world” and “whosoever believeth.” Verse 18 says, “He that believeth not is condemned already.” Where does Jesus exempt unbelieving Gentiles from that statement? You invented that exception because His words contradict your system. God’s mercy extends beyond Israel, but that does not establish salvation apart from Christ through good works.

Your appeal to Israel’s unbelief proves nothing against my position. Hebrews 3:19 says, “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.” How does judgment for unbelief establish your claim that unbelievers can receive salvation through their works? It does not. Neither does Matthew 7. Jesus says, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:23). Their profession and impressive religious works did not establish that they belonged to Him.

Then you accuse me of putting no emphasis on obedience and declare me “fully outside the faith.” That is a false accusation, not an argument. Christians must obey Christ. Grace teaches us to deny “ungodliness and worldly lusts” and live righteously (Titus 2:11–12). Ephesians 2:10 says believers are “created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” But the preceding verses say salvation is “not of works, lest any man should boast.” Obedience matters. It does not become an alternative means of salvation for unbelievers.

Yes, believers have eternal life now. Nobody disputed that. But you avoided the other half of the verse: “He that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5:12). Calling eternal life a “KIND of life” does not erase that statement or provide another route for people without the Son.

Your argument about Revelation 20 also answers something I never said. Being judged according to works does not, by itself, mean everyone judged is condemned. But neither does it mean good works put someone’s name in the Book of Life. The passage never says that. You supplied that explanation yourself. Revelation 20:15 states the consequence of not being found in the book. It does not teach that unbelievers earn entry into it through good deeds. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).

And Malachi 3:18 does not “lay out” four eternal destinies. It says, “Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.” Those are corresponding descriptions of the contrast between righteousness and wickedness. The verse assigns neither pair to a different book. You inserted “The Book of Life” and “Lamb’s book of life” into your explanation because those words are absent from the passage.

Your claim that understanding your categories qualifies someone for the Book of Remembrance is another invention. Malachi 3:16 identifies those people as those who “feared the LORD” and “thought upon his name.” It never says they qualified by accepting your scheme of eternal destinies. You are making agreement with your teaching a spiritual qualification God never gave.

You also left the remaining objections unanswered. Paul still says the man whose work burns “shall be saved” (1 Corinthians 3:15). He still calls the believers at Corinth saints (1 Corinthians 1:2). Hebrews 6:9 still describes “things that accompany salvation,” not service that purchases a lesser salvation for people who cannot become saints. Dismissing those objections as a “religious rabbit hole” does nothing to answer them.

An open heart toward God does not require an open door to false doctrine. Scripture commands, “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Your teaching fails that test. Stop blaming other people’s lack of faith for your lack of biblical support. Repent of teaching your imagination as God’s truth.

Wow, your teaching is actually anti-christ! This has nothing to do with Luther but the simple words of scripture. Jesus was the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Heb 10:9-14

Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Heb 9:14

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

And Jesus was in Gethsemane sweating blood and submitting Himself to the Father’s will to go to the cross.

I usually tell a logic story to those who don't understand mercy.

There was a certain prince who was to inherit the kingdom who decided one day, that before he became king, he would venture into the kingdom to see what sort of people were there. On his way his horse bucked because of a snake and he fell and broke his foot. A farmer saw him in the ditch and carried the prince home and looked after him till he was healed.

One day the prince asked the farmer if he knew who he was. The farmer said he didn't know.

OK so here we have to have 2 different endings. One for the real Jesus and the other for the religious invention that probably most modern believers believe in.

1. The real Jesus: "Because you served Me even though you didn't know who I was, I COMMEND you to the highest honour for your selfless giving. Welcome in MY kingdom. "

2. The totally FAKE Jesus that most put their trust in: "Because you pretended to serve me and don't know who I am, I condemn you to death."

So then can the farmer be saved by his works apart from knowing who the prince was?

How many here think they are serving God...but its a totally fake Jesus. As in...go away I never knew you...AND you never knew Me.

Those who see a condemning Jesus will themselves be condemned. Those who see a commending Jesus should start obeying Him.
Your claim that an unbeliever can be saved by good works is false. Scripture says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5). You invented a story where a good deed earns entrance into a kingdom, then slapped the name of Jesus on your preferred ending. That is your imagination, not Christ’s teaching.

Your claim that a condemning Jesus is a “FAKE Jesus” directly attacks what the real Jesus said: “Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire” (Matthew 25:41). Those are His words. The Jesus who shows mercy also pronounces judgment. You do not get to erase His judgment because it ruins your story.

And your declaration that “those who see a condemning Jesus will themselves be condemned” is another invented teaching. Jesus said the Father “hath committed all judgment unto the Son” (John 5:22). Believing that Christ judges the wicked is believing Christ, not following a counterfeit.

Matthew 25 does not rescue your argument. The sheep did not recognize when they had served Jesus through serving others. The passage never says they were unbelievers who earned salvation through kindness. You put that into the text.

Stop manufacturing a Jesus who agrees with you and calling the biblical Jesus fake. “He that believeth not is condemned already” (John 3:18). Your fictional farmer does not overturn those words. Repent of teaching salvation by works and presenting your imagination as the gospel.

Your claim that an unbeliever can be saved by good works is false. Scripture says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us” (Titus 3:5).

Your illogic here is monumental. Not everybody is trying to copy the early disciples. Paul and his friends were saved by grace through faith....but nowhere does it say that they were the only ones who were to be saved. And because you read how they were saved you think by reading about it you also have it. Another colossal error.

It's like saying someone got their job by going to university. Does that mean that you can't get a job unless you go to university?

So you are fully indoctrinated into a false understanding of the bible narrative. Are you even still able to reason...or did you abandon any critical thinking in favour of a dead dogmatic belief?
You invented a story where a good deed earns entrance into a kingdom, then slapped the name of Jesus on your preferred ending. That is your imagination, not Christ’s teaching.

I know the truth so I can give examples that accurately portray God's intention. You are stuck parroting verses you don't understand. If I use a bible story but use different language...then you say its false. Why? Because you don't understand the bible.

So you took up the fake Jesus in the story.....no surprise there. I leave you to your delusion.

What indoctrinated people do is rather than address the scriptures being posted these will just parrot the verses they were indoctrinated with (without understanding them) while fully ignoring any verse that exposes their lack of understanding. Do they WANT to understand? No. They prefer the lie. They hold onto their indoctrination like a security blanket that they can hide their eyes in.

Like a scared little child. And a bratty one at that.

Tis a good thing the days are being shortened. Eh?
And, it's not so much in trying to teach these ones'.
As much as it is trying to "serve God the Father" by keeping these ones' from making righteous ones' sad that God did not make sad.
Ezekiel 13:
19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?
22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:

It is the denomination of the truth which is everywhere spoken evil of by the religious system. It is by revelation of God. The brotherhood is universal (everywhere) but very small. The attachment is only by the Spirit and love of the truth. There is no name but Christ.

Jesus suffered because of the transgression of His people...not FOR the transgressions of His people
And just to say, it is both. As usual you are only seeing one side of the coin..........which is very deceitful. The people sacrificed/slew the Lamb, but on the other hand it was God who provided/gave the Lamb to be sacrificed and purposely allowed it in His sovereignty. Remember why Jesus rebuked Peter when He said "Get thee behind me Satan for thou savourest not the things OF GOD but of man."
