I'm curious if anyone else deals with or has dealt with heavy nostalgia? I am in my mid 40s and have had nostalgia feelings since my late teens, specifically for my 11sh to 15sh years give or take. I think I actually am now using it as some sort of coping mechanism for my life long battle of anxiety. Its not just a "good ol days" feeling but very strong.

Memories can often come uninvited and we have a choice whether to dwell on them or briefly enjoy them and then move on. It's lovely to have pleasant memories but not good to hanker after the past. As Christians we need to be living in the now and looking forward to our tomorrows instead of spending too much time in the past.

Hi @Ernie, yes, I get flashbacks of nostalgia often. Mostly about family gatherings and the close-knit community I lived in as a child. I miss those times. It was when we were more social rather than separated by constant work schedules, cell phones, or computers.

Ahhhh, the transience of life. We come out of childhood bursting into the world of adulthood with so many new discoveries....but alas, all too soon it's same ole, same ole.
What we want is that feeling of new; the unplanned (I remember it well) and yes, my youth had its challenges but what shines through most is its energy never knowing with what the next day or next month will show up.
Today in my mid seventies there is an acute awareness that I might have another twenty years if I don't get hit by a bus.....but there is peace and hope.....yes, I have come to KNOW my Saviour.

And you are quite correct about what has become the social construct of today and how empty it is .
This world has been lost
but worse now so is much of christendom lost and it has no idea What it has lost NOR that it is lost .
The simplicity of CHRIST has been replaced
with antoher jesus , another spirit , another gopsel and THEY GO WITH THE FLOW OF IT TOO .

Technology has . And it has and is leading them all , ALL them empty souls
to the digital utopia , the next big fit . AND NONE OF IT will ever fullfill them .
THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD they have LONG abandoned .
AND SEEING the world never knew him , AGAIN i speak of christendom .

AND SADLY MOST OF even christendom runs them off as haters , judgemental and monsters .
LET THEM CORRECT . leaven must be corrected.
WHEN the heck is this generation gonna realize the judge not love doey AINT WORKING .
UNLESS the goal is of course TO REMOVE JESUS and recreate another one and another god .
CAUSE THAT IS ALL ITS DOING NOW . Pray for the few , pray FOR those who stand to fill the gap
THAT MANY WILL NOT FILL .
