They said what work might we do, John 6:28-29,
- Then they said unto Jesus, What work shall we do, that we(not God) might work the works of God

ET what work did you do to work the works of God?
Jesus said it is belief in Him.

John 6:29,
- Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God that ye believe...

According to Christ He answered their question on what work they could do to work the works of God.
Jesus was not a faith onlyist.
He did not tell them there is no work to do!!!
He answered their question by telling them that to work Gods works, one believes on Him.

John 6:14,
- verily, verily I say to you he that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also

According to Christ believing is a work of God that we work.

To teach otherwise is denying Christ's teaching.
IT IS THE WORK OF GOD that WE BELIEVE

sorry you are unable to comprehend what Jesus said

You are. Because you say you must be baptized to be saved.

You are. again, your teaching you are saved by a work of righteousness which you must do.

Anytime you teach we must do a work to merit salvation. you teach merit based salvation.

Baptism is a work of righteousness.

Paul said in titus 3. It is not by works of righteousness (like water baptism) which we have done, but by his mercy.

Grace is cherity, You do not earn cherity by doing works.

But I am not wrong

Nope. not once.
Quote me teaching that salvation is not by grace but a works based system of merit.
Until you can do this, all you're doing is strawmanning my position,

Actual position: belief is a work of faith as is repentance, confession and baptism not works of merit.
No scripture refers to any of these works as works of merit. To do so is creating man made definition.

Strawman: You believe water itself saves and by your own effort not trust in Jesus' atonement.

The same argument can be used against anyone who believes they must submit to Gods will.

Noah, didn't believe that only God saved him.
Noah, really believed he saved himself in the work he did by building the boat/ark.
Noah,' faith is in a boat not God.

lets get this straight

trusting and doing the work of getting baptised are not the same

When we believe in jesus,l we are trusting him, His work. we are reciving his grace.

Water baptism is something that you must do. in fact. there is alot you have to do to get water baptized.

I trust God to save me

I do not trust that fact I get baptised to save me, that is somethign I do.

repent my friend.

Noah, also trusted in God to save him.
If God required boat building today.
You would accuse Noah if he were here today of trusting in his works not God.

btw, belief and repentance are two requirements of God to be saved.
Your gospel only has one requirement.

Believing on Jesus is something you must do.
God is not going to believe for you.
Acts 16:30,
- Sirs, what must I do to be saved

false.

if we were to translate it using todays english, it should say all of you repent. and let THEM be baptized. and YOU

it does not make sense in the origional text as it is written

again, the closes is the old english version, repent YE and let every one of YOU

modern english does not differentiate plural you with singular you
You are wrong friend.
You can make ANY translation support ANY doctrine invented by man.
Baptismal regeneration is one such problem error.
This argument seems based upon Acts 2:38.
The following are from the Interlinear Bible and the Complete Jewish Bible.

IB: And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, each of you ON the name of Jesus Christ TO forgiveness of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

CJB: Kefa answered them, Turn from sin, return to God, and each of you be immersed on the authority of Yeshua the Messiah INTO forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh!

As we see; each of these alternate translations based upon the perfectly preserved and inspired TR and Masoretic texts, baptism does NOT save you. Repentance and submission to the authority of Christ saves you. This cannot happen unless one BELIEVES on Christ. Just as Jesus said in John 3 and Paul said in 1 Cor 15, and Peter said in 1 Pet 1.

Noah, also trusted in God to save him.

Yep he did, Just like abraham did in Gen 15.

Both wer saved because of their faith. Not because they did the work

works were a byproduct of salvation, not to get saved

actually repening is going from a state of unbeliev to a state of faith/../ so you can not have one without the other.

I was saved by Grace, through faith.

Not through being baptized in water

I was baptized in water a year after I was born again by grace through faith

Beliving in the work of God.

is not the same of getting water baptised.

Both jesus and pau said our belief was not a work.,

your argument is with them. not me.

Your right I can

thats why we go into the greek to confirm what was really said

again, the greek text does not say what you think it does.

Actually it is taking the word of God as a whole

no one in the OT was saved by water baptism.

The gospel today is the same as it was in abrahams day, By faith.. we believe God and God credits us with righteousness

Jesus in john 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 gives the gospel. and not one time is water baptism mentioned.

so either we interpret acts 2: 38 to make it align with the rest of scripture

or we interpret it to align with our belief system, no matter if it agrees with the rest of scripture or not

God saved Noah without obeying God by building the ark?
Really? Are you claiming Noah could have been saved just by believing what God said and not doing the work God gave him to do?
That would be belief alone +disobedience.
No obedience to Gods commandments to be saved. Just belief in what He says.

Do you not know it was Jesus who was speaking in John 6:28-29?

Paul also says faith is a work,
1Thessalonians 1:3,
- Remembering without ceasing your work of faith
yes. I know what they asked

what work must we do

Jesus said IT IS THE WORK OF GOD.

why do you keep ignoring what Jesus said?

Jesus told them, there are no works.. Believe in the one jesus sant, if you do that, you will be saved.

No works involved.

yes. My faith gets me to work. its why I got baptised. Go to church. Give to the poor. Love Hod and keep his commands.

Not to get saved, I do not expect nothign in return, I deserve hell

Question: Would God have saved Noah if he had not built the ark? Only believed in God?
That would mean salvation by belief alone + no obedience.

WHICH "greek" would that be?
Sinaiticus?
Vaticanus?
Alexandrinus?
Or perhaps one of the other untold thousands of bits and pieces cobbled together by some monk somewhere?
