Why do you ignore the facts as described below in Zechariah 4:11-14 regarding the "Olive Trees" being interpreted as (The Two Anointed Ones) before your eyes and not one mention of this fact "Why"?
I look at ALL of the facts, unlike yourself. I'm not willing to ignore the fact that it only refers to ONE candlestick there, not two. And I'm not willing to ignore the fact that candlesticks represent churches in the book of Revelation (Rev 1:20), not individuals. And im not willing to ignore Romans 11 when it comes to identifying what the two olive trees represent.

Why do you ignore the facts in Revelation 11:3-4 that (The Two Witnesses) are described as being "Two Olive Trees" (These Are The Two Olive Trees) before your eyes and not one mention of this fact "Why"?

Why do you ignore the facts as described below regarding items 1 & 2?

(Items 1 & 2 Below, Same "Exact" Description In Parallel Teachings "Fact"!)

1.) Zechariah 4:14 and the words: (that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.)

2.) Revelation 11:4 and the words: (standing before the God of the earth.)

The interpretation for Revelation 11:3-4 is clearly given in Zechariah 4:11-14, these are parallel teachings, scripture interprets itself

Olive Trees, Olive Branches = The Two Anointed Ones, Who Are Described In Revelation Chapter 11 As Having Literal Bodies That Die, And These Dead Bodies Are Raised From The Dead Before A Literal World Watching

(These Are The Two Annointed Ones) = (The Two Witnesses) = (Two Prophets) Literal, Physical, And Upon This Earth, Rev 11:10

Zechariah 4:11-14KJV
11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.

Revelation 11:3-4 & 10KJV
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
You couldn't even bring yourself to explain how the two witnesses are described as TWO candlesticks, not ONE. You won't even address that fatal flaw in your belief about the two witnesses.

No, that is not a requirement to be of the "two witnesses". You have added that as your own personal requirement since the bible says nothing about that anywhere in Rev 11.

The truth is the two prophets of Rev 11 have not come yet and could not have been anyone in the past. Jesus and John are automatically disqualified to have been them for many reasons everyone here has already told you about.
Then I suggest that you name your two candidates for the position of "My two anointed ones", aka "My two witnesses". Please don't come up short, because it already has been 2,500+/- years.

Where have you been?? Of course I also have openly agreed, biblicaly supported and stated, that the TWO candlesticks in Rev. 11:4 are indeed TWO churches.
Rev. 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks [churches] standing before the God of the earth.
As for Zech. 4:2, 11, the singular candlestick is symbolic of the OC church in the wilderness under Moses.

I never said otherwise. I wasn't talking to you in that post (#401), I was talking to Truth7t7. Look at it again and you'll see that.

The bible does not name them so no one else should.

Where have you been?? Of course I also have openly agreed, biblicaly supported and stated, that the TWO candlesticks in Rev. 11:4 are indeed TWO churches.

So are the two Olive Trees! Selah!

Will this definition of the two witnesses hold true in the other images God uses for them, such as the two witnesses or the two Olive Trees? Do those also symbolize the Church which is the earthly representation of Christ? Again, we go back to the number one rule of sound hermeneutics, 'the Bible is it's own interpreter.' If we start off with no preconceived ideas about what it signifies, and search out the pertinent scriptures, it's not long before we see that the Olive tree is indeed used by God to symbolize the Church. For example in Hosea 14, speaking of Christ we read:

Hosea 14:5-7
  • "I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
  • His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the Olive Tree, and his smell as Lebanon."
  • They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon."
The Israel of God is ultimately Christ, and the children of God who dwell under the shadow of this tree will have no scorching sun on them. When we are in Christ, we are like a green olive tree in the house of the Lord (Psalms 52:8). This is the Salvation and the hope of the Israel of God. And as we are the light of the world because Christ is the light of the world, so we are the Olive tree because Christ is this Olive tree. He is the Israel of the New Covenant in whom if we abide, we are sons of God. We can see this most clearly in a passage like Romans chapter nine or chapter eleven where the Gentile nations are grafted into New Covenant Israel, which is symbolized by the Olive tree.

Romans 11:17
  • "And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;"
Clearly God is using a wild olive tree to symbolize the Gentile nations, and the natural Olive Tree to symbolize the representation of Covenant Israel into which believers are grafted. i.e., we join with Paul and the Apostles into Christ, the true Israel of God (Ephesians 2:11-19) which this Covenant tree merely represents. This is the New Covenant Church, and it is symbolized by the olive tree having Gentiles grafted into it that they become heirs (right along with the Jews) according to the promises to Israel. And so once again we see the Word of God showing just who the olive tree represents. All those Gentiles coming into this Jewish olive tree are the believers coming into the New Covenant Congregation. Those branches of the tree broken off are those of Israel who come under judgment and are blinded. The Jewish brethren who are Saved are the branches in this same tree right along with us. So we see Jewish people and Gentiles, all in the exact same olive tree of Salvation.

Likewise in Zechariah chapter four, the symbolism of two olive trees and the candlestick (lampstand) are signifying the Church.

Zechariah 4:2-6
  • "And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
  • And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.
  • So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?
  • Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
  • Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts."
The Lampstands and olive tress stand before God, not by their own power or by their own might, but by the Holy Spirit of the Lord. This again illustrating what we've been seeing of the two Witnesses. It is not by any power we have inherently, but because of the power of the Holy Spirit of God given us that we witness or have the testimony of Christ. Not by our own oil, but by the pure oil of the Olive tree. Not by our own light, but by the light of the candle. The two olive trees symbolize the anointed ones that stand by the Lord of the whole earth (Zechariah 4:14), not by their own power, but by power of God. This symbolizes the Church, anointed by the Spirit of God. Just as we read that the two Witnesses of Revelation also stand by the Lord of the earth.

Zechariah 4:14
  • "Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth."
The same thing revelation chapter eleven says of the two candlestick/olive trees there. They stand before the God of the earth. They are the anointed ones, meaning they are those who are anointed by the Holy Spirit, by being in Christ. The oil for the light is not theirs, it is that given them.

1st John 2:27
  • "But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."
So we have seen from God's Word that the Witnesses represent the Church, the Candlesticks represent the Church, and the Olive Tree represents the Church, and that they are the anointed ones who stand before the God of the earth. All roads are leading to the same inescapable conclusion. This imagery represents the Church. Not your private vision of two physical men!

Case Closed!

Zech. 4:3, 11, 12, 14.

Now, since you still believe that there is still to come an additional two anointed witnesses, are you saying that they will be as anointed and/or more anointed than John the Baptist and/ Jesus? Will they also HAVE the fulness of the Holy Spirit within them BEFORE their physical birth?
Do you know of anyone else who were more anointed than John and Jesus?

I do hear your understanding, but I am not in full agreement with it. In many ways we are both on the same page, but with slight differences.

The comparison of symbolism between that of Two olive trees and that of Two candlesticks, are not one and the same.

In Rev. 11:4
The Two Olive trees/branches symbolize TWO people who are fully anointed by the Holy Spirit of God for His purposes.
Also in this case, there are TWO candlesticks which symbolizes TWO churches, not just one church or several churches.

In Zech. 4:12, It is at that time specifically stating that there is only ONE recipient of the "golden oil" that the TWO olive branches empty out of themselves and into the  ONE candlestick/church.
HOWEVER, in Rev. 11:4, we now see TWO Candlesticks.
How is it that there is only One candlestick in Zech. ch. 4, but Two candlesticks shown in Rev. 11:4?

The two candlesticks are:
#1. The OC church in the wilderness under Moses, described as the symbolic 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel = the figurative 144,000.
#2. The NC church under the Lord Jesus, is described as being the great multitude.
3. The Golden oil is of "the Spirit of Truth", that is emptied out of themselves (the 2 olive branches) and INTO the two churches, who are the saints of BOTH the churches.
By the shed blood of Christ, both the OC and the NC churches are now become ONE CHURCH, aka ONE candlestick.
The Epistles and the book of Revelation speak much about the two churches forming into ONE spiritual church.

The Holy Spirit of God Himself is not one of the two churches, but rather is the Golden oil. He is only the "Sealer", the "Comforter" and the "Teacher" to the two churches, who are people.

John the Baptist was that ONE witness of the TWO Olive trees that came preaching repentance to Israel, so that a people would be prepared for the coming of the other witness (Olive tree), who was Jesus, "the Lamb of God", "who in one day by His sacrificial death, took away the sin of that land and the world" Zech. 3:9.

In so doing, Jesus Himself formed the two candlesticks to become one candlestick, which is what we see in Zech. 4:2-3, and is now known of today as being that New "nation" of Born again Christians.
1 Peter 1-9
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Or duped into Preterism. Prophecy is about the future and Rev 11 is the tribulation and shows how it ends, and the 7th trump return of Christ and the wrath of God. Obviously not part of past events.

You can and will only say that, because Pretribbers and Premils don't understand WHEN the 70th week was fulfilled already, and by who!

Once Again no mention of the "Olive Trees" or "Items 1 & 2" seen below, because it opposes your claim of "The Church" being the (Two Witnesses) this being 100% "Wrong"

Why do you ignore the facts as described below in Zechariah 4:11-14 regarding the "Olive Trees" being interpreted as (The Two Anointed Ones) before your eyes and not one mention of this fact "Why"?

Is it just too difficult for you to address why you are using a passage that references ONE candlestick in support of your understanding of the two witnesses being called TWO candlesticks? Does it not matter to you that candlesticks symbolically represent churches in Revelation 1:20? Is that not something you think is worth taking into account? And is it not worth it for you to take into account what the two olive trees in Romans 11 represent?

Does it not matter that you give complete disregard to Zechariah 4:11-14 and it's interpretation of Revelation 11:3-4, perfectly describing these two future prophets that will be physically upon this earth?

Does it not matter that you take (Two Literal Prophets) that have literal physical bodies that die, that are raised from the dead as a literal world watches, and you remove this literal biblical fact with symbolic allegory claiming (The Two Witnesses/Prophets) represent the church?

Why do you ignore the facts as described below in Zechariah 4:11-14 regarding the "Olive Trees" being interpreted as (The Two Anointed Ones) before your eyes and not one mention of this fact "Why"?

Does it not matter that you give complete disregard to Zechariah 4:11-14 and it's interpretation of Revelation 11:3-4, perfectly describing these two future prophets that will be physically upon this earth?

Your problem is like a double sided coin. You want to believe and prove that the two olive trees/branches symbolize literal prophets, but then in the original prophecy in Zech. 4:11, you neglect to identify who/what the ONE candlestick symbolizes, and then you don't notice that the number of candlesticks changed from ONE to TWO in Rev. 11:4.

Ok, thus far, I agree that the TWO Olive trees/branches are two people, but who are the candlesticks, and for what reason or cause did the number of candlesticks CHANGE from ONE to TWO? Please compare Zech. 4:11 with Rev. 11:4.

In Zech 4:11, the original prophecy reveals ONLY ONE candlestick. However, in Rev. 11:4, the prophecy is then updated, thus revealing that there are now TWO candlesticks.
Concerning the TWO Olive trees/branches, ONLY THEY are the TWO ANOINTED ones, whereas they who were of that ONE candlestick and/or those who are now of the TWO candlestick(s) are NOT ANOINTED before birth, as the TWO Olive trees/branches were.

Do you agree so far, that the number of candlesticks changed from one to two, but the number of Olive trees/branches did not change? If so, then to you, who/what does the candlestick(s) symbolize?

I agree that the two olive trees/branches in Zech. 4:11-14 are the ONLY TWO who are anointed.

I agree that Zech. 4:14 and Rev. 11:4 say the same thing.

I agree 100%
Zechariah 4:11-14KJV
11 Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

I agree 100%

Revelation 11:3-4 & 10KJV
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses,
I agree 100%
and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
I disagree 100%. You see them as being still to come in the far future. I see them as
John the Baptist for 6 mos. and
Jesus for 3.0 yrs.= total of 1260 days, who already came.

(It's all about how one understands the 70th week and what happened in the midst of that week, in Dan. 9:24-27.)
4 These are the two olive trees
Yes, I agree.
, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
Sorry, I disagree. In Zech. 4:11 THERE IS ONLY ONE CANDLESTICK.
But then in Revelation 11:4 THERE IS NOW TWO CANDLESTICKS. WHY????
That is the question of which I ASKED YOU in my post #417, and still you don't see it, to give your answer!!

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
No comment at this time, until you answer of why Zech 4:11 says ONE candlestick and Rev. 11:4 says TWO candlesticks. Rom. 11 is your clue.
