Greetings again Jay Ross,
Your suggestion that Gen 3:19 explains the meaning of Gen 2:17 is to rely on Satan's understanding of the consequence of sinning does not lead to the second death as God suggested in Gen 2:17 that the consequence of sinning/turning away from God is the second death at the time of the Final Judgement.
You have given some of your overall examination of this verse, but I cannot agree with the above statement. Again you introduce the second death even though it is not mentioned in Genesis 2:17. Also you mention Satan, but it was the Serpent who spoke. The Serpent speculated that they would not die, and I hold to the view that Adam was sentenced to die, that is, to return to the dust as stated in Genesis 3:19. Anyway, this has been off topic

Possibly related to Bible Marking as I could add a note to my margin. I am not aware of the history of the following change, not only with the NKJV but with also most modern translations.
Revelation 16:16 (AV): And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Revelation 16:16 (NKJV): And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.

At this point of time I consider the KJV to be correct.

The NLT goes one step further and replaces the "they" with "the demonic spirits" and the "them" with "the rulers".
Revelation 16:16 (NLT): And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.

Kind regards
Trevor

Maybe, but you have highlighted the problem of people writing in the margins of their Bible, possible to correct a perceived error. Over the years, I have found that what I thought was a good correction to my "Bible" was in fact an error on my part and that I was wrong in my understanding of the scriptures.

These days I'm mostly using on-line bibles, and Blue Letter Bible's site owner won't authorize me to write on their site, darn it.
If you get the app it has a section for notes and journaling
