A meek and quiet spirit comes through studying the bible asking God for these qualities and also being forgetful and thankful in times of problems.

For me, meek and quiet involves not needing to say when Im praying all the time, and not correcting doctrine for males. Occasionally I slip up but its gotten better.
Don't jump out of the doctrinal threads entirely Sister. Not that I always agree with you, but it's pretty clear where you are coming from. I won't be here long, but I hope you stick around and keep shining your light.

I love Scripture but I draw the line at being argumentative and correcting men on doctrine. Paul wrote I suffer not a woman to teach... Not to say men are always right but it's men who are to safeguard doctrine.
I can't, phone gets shut off today and I've been telling myself it was time to leave it off for a while now. In a few weeks I'll turn my flip phone on. I'll send you my email in a direct message so the hubby can stay in touch. Tell him I meditated on it, and yes, I would go. He should know what I'm talking about. It could be a few more months as I'm waiting on some dental work, but that gives the Lord lots of time to get me ready.

Self awareness and self focus have different objectives.
Self awareness realises that one's 'morality' is wanting.
Self focus makes certain ego is flattered under the guise of piety.

---other people, what they do and say

---the nation
---your own situation, what happens to you
You can only really control yourself. Once you surrender control to God, you can rest knowing it's Him on the throne and He is with you and for you.

This landed with me. A meek and quiet spirit is not weakness; it is trust that does not have to win every moment. 1 Peter 3:4 and Philippians 4:7 keep pulling me back to that inner steadiness when my instincts want to push or defend.
