And the righteousness of the disciple is much greater than the righteousness of the righteous....because God is working in His people.
Disciples of Jesus are righteous (in God's sight), through faith in him. Unbelievers are unrighteous, partly because whatever is not of faith is sin.

AND...the righteousness of the righteous is greater than the righteousness of the Pharisees. So the Pharisees are 2 layers of righteousness away from God. Adding sin to sin.
The Pharisees were only righteous in their own eyes (and the eyes of their followers).

This is your indoctrination talking. God is not a Christian. He has no favourites but only judges what He SEES us DO. You need to learn this or else you risk walking in vain.

You will be judged against the perfection of Christ UNLESS you allow mercy into your formula. Show no mercy and you will get none. You are throwing stones without BEING perfect yourself. And God does not see you in any other condition than what you really are. It is a delusion of the devil that says God sees you already like Jesus. It is a mockery of the power of Christ. His power is not to blind God. But the devil's power has blinded you.
The Pharisees were only righteous in their own eyes (and the eyes of their followers).
Most Christians today are exactly the same. Righteous in their own eyes. That's why SO MANY will be rejected. Do you not claim to be righteous? But God said that no man living can claim to be righteous in His eyes. (and don't say that God said all Christians are righteous...stick with the bible)

Eph. 2:8-10 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Those who have genuine faith in Jesus produce good fruit; in fact, that is one of the tests of genuineness.

Mark 4:20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

Without faith in the Lord, it is impossible to please God.

Heb. 11:5,6
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

When were you translated into Zion? And what does, or did it look like?
