I thought the blood of Christ washed away your sins...not water.
Does this mean the blood of Christ was symbolic and the washing away of our sins by water is how it really happens?
Seriously though...
maybe it's not one or the other...
maybe it's BOTH.

Read John 6 very carefully.
Every time I read it I notice something new.
I recently noticed verse 53 and 54.
Very interesting.

I understand that you are unable to answer a simple question
Please list the verses where Paul teaches WATER IMMERSE BAPTISM is a requirement to enter Heaven :)
Why does it have to be only Paul?
Did Paul go to the cross for you?

Do you believe what mark said?
Do you believe what JESUS said?

But I've already replied to this.

You must read the ENTIRE bible,,,
not just the parts you like.

So you really think that you need to drink the blood of Jesus Christ ?

But where to find the blood?
The Bible doesn't say that we are to drink the blood of Jesus to wash away our sins. It just says that His blood cleanses us from all sin:

NKJV 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

No need to go searching for the blood to collect it and drink it.

Did you ever read John 6?
You might understand it or not...
you might believe it or not....

But you most definitely should not make fun of what Jesus taught.

John 6:53-55
53So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54“He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55“For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.

Find out what the word EATS means in Greek in 54.
It's easy.
We have the internet now.

I know deeply what it means to eat milk and honey in the Promised Land.
I also know what it means to eat the flesh of Jesus and drink the blood of Jesus.
Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh.
Therefore, the focus of everything points to the Word of God.
Since the first sin of Adam and Eve, absolutely everything points to the authority and glory of God, and to the Word of God.

Thanks for reminding me that.

OH.
I see.
You pick out the verses that you like and ignore the rest.

A very interesting way of studying scripture.

Unfortunately, we must take all of scripture and make sense of it.
It's the only way.

Scripture presents us with baptism:

1. with water.
2. of the Holy Spirit.
3. as entrance into a group.
4. for forgiveness of sin.
5. for special strength.
6. for gifts...healing, speaking in tongues.
7. for regeneration.

Paul did baptize a few persons,,,but it was not his primary goal.
I'm sure he told those to whom he preached that they should get baptized.
And those to whom he just wrote.

I've studied baptism a few times now...
And probably will continue to do so.

Where does Paul teach WATER IMMERSE baptize is a requirement to enter Heaven ?
Verses please :)

Thats a good point.
If water baptism, immersion, was a requirement for salvation Paul or someone would have dedicated a chapter or two explaining how to baptize a person and how it works.

There would also be no verses that speak of salvation without being baptized.

There would be no cases of people in the bible getting saved prior to being baptized.

Really C...
it's a good thing you're not on an investigative team.
ABSENCE OF EVIDENCE
IS NOT EVIDENCE OF ABSENCE

Think on that for a while.

Some dont understand that the words of Christs are eternal life
Some believe Paul taught a different method of salvation than Jesus.

If this were true,,,we could throw away our bibles and just hope there's a God
and maybe one day we'll meet Him.

Paul taught exactly what Jesus taught.
He just used different words and some of us today, in these modern times, just don't understand what a jew of 2 thousand years ago would have understood.

They both taught this in order to be saved:

1. Believe in God.
2. Obey God.

the Problem I see with Paul is the same as Peter explained in 2 peter 3:16;

"as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; wherein are some things hard to be understood, which the ignorant and unstedfast wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

people ignore that Paul epistles were destined to the church leaders and not the Gentiles directly. its why today so many are very confused about so many things and that we have so many different denominations, so many ways to interpret Paul's epistles and t people forget that it has to match the words of Christ.

It is why I always use the words of Christ on my post and rarely use Paul's unless they are not subject to interpretation. I worry also some folllow only paul and have forgotten Christ. It reminds me I must get back in teaching his words, in the llast few months i have been mostly absent from this forum but there is much work to be done sister, continue the good works and Blessings.
