Cultivating a grateful heart is so key to my happiness and joy in my relationship with God. Finding something to be grateful about in every situation prepares my heart to practice unconditional love.

It is the answer to addiction, depression, bordem, anger, resentment, loneliness, and self centeredness.

How do you cultivate gratitude in your life and prayer life? How has it changed you?

I think it may start as a daily or even moment by moment discipline ..which grows of itself into a spiritual habit. My feet don't even touch the floor before I have lain there and thanked and praised Father for who He is , and who He is in my life.

I think it is more of a love response to Him, than a cultivated thing.
In my life anyway. :)

Bless you.

My Pastor taught me a great and comical lesson about this verse:

Romans 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Do you know hard that verse is? Let me demonsrate:

1. You get a flat tire in the rain on the way to a job interview. You are going to be a wet, greasy mess when you arrive. And you will be late!
2. You doubt this verse is right. Yet you are ashamed you doubt it.
3. You are now wet, tired, greasy, late,, probably not going to get the job, and ashamed. To boot. You are pissed off.
4. Yet you believe this verse and realize God is watching out for you.
5. Now you are upset cause God is raining on your pity party! Here you are rejoicing about God watching out for you, and you have every right to be upset but you can't even whine about it!

Si what do you end up doing? All you can do is laugh and look up to God... Say, "good one, God! And thanks!"

And then, believe in your heart that FGod prevented you from a more terrible accident a mile down the road. And that a better job offer is coming.

My point is gratitude is more than being thankful for what you see as a victory. Its being thankful he is a shepherd and looking out for you, even if you don't like it.
