No He is telling YOU to love one and other. To stop the horrible manner in which you speak to brothers and sisters, He is not telling you to sell everything. Your lack of love will be accompanied with a lack of understanding for as long as you dont love one and other.

Except...that is not what He said.

The question: "What shall I do to inherit eternal life"

The answer: "One thing thou lackest...sell whatsoever thou hast"

Yep, a cloak that he sued for under a court of law....which means he didn't just take it from you. So when or if someone wants your coat at the point of a gun or knife, when you get car jacked, I would love for you to hand it all over so you can come back on the forum and tell us all about it, put your money where your mouth is.

You come back and tell us when you do anything that represents Christ rightly?

Perhaps consideration should be given to the commands of Christ as to who they were given and their purpose.

For example, (Mark 10:17-21). "And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one...and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?...And Jesus said...Thou knowest the commandments,...And he answered and said...all these have I observed from my youth...Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven:..And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions."

Is Christ telling Christians that we are to keep the Law and sell all we have in order to inherit eternal life and have treasure in heaven? How many believers here have done or do that?

Let me ask you one question about the above scripture and statement, what have you done since you fully have the context of that scripture?

(Mark 10:19) "Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth."

He wasnt talking to Christians. If He said anything to the contry they would have put Him on a cross to early. This is really basic simple stuff you will learn as soon as you bend the knee and love one and other.

No, Jesus saw into the man's heart...and was speaking to him...
He was not telling everyone to do that same thing.

Meaning that distinction should be made as to who Jesus is addressing and the cirucmstances surrounding when He speaks before we label something a commandment the Church should follow.

Fair question.
But, my take is what it is...it will be taken however someone wants to take it.
Commandments, labels, Church stuff....beyond my pay grade.

From what I read from you thus far, yes it is beyond your pay grade.

But, no matter how anyone takes it....that doesn't mean their view is true. It behooves the people of God to find out what is being said.
