This reminded of an NDE I read online:
You do not have to believe this of course, or even believe in NDEs...but as short as i can make it:

An atheist shoots herself trying to commit suicide. She passes over and finds herself in a large place with people chatting in groups.
One small group she thinks, 'They look like they were from Jesus' time by their clothes'.
A female stranger seems to be calling to her.
The gray haired stranger tells her kindly how suicide is very bad, etc..."You a going to go back..you have much to do still."
The woman is greatly moved by the kindness and love she is being shown...knowing she is an atheist besides.
The guide-helper says,
'Do you rem when you thought that group looked like from the time of Jesus? Well, Just that was enough to send you back and have another chance...that you even thought Jesus existed.'

This was her story.

many will be deceived; even the elect

Another strange thread eh!

tut tut you never quote the full verse Matt 24:24
" For there shall arise false Christ's, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

If we stay close, and listen to the Holy Spirit there will be no deception for the true believers.

Should Christians judge?
Jesus commanded men to judge rightly and He told them to judge not.
Did the Lord contradict Himself?
Or does the Bible say more about judging than Christians are generally taught?

Don't judge? But Jesus repeatedly taught men to judge rightly, insisting they “judge with righteous judgment” (John 7:24) and He praised a man who “rightly judged” (Luke 7:43). Paul shamed the Corinthian Christians because no one among them was willing to “judge the smallest matters” (1 Cor. 6:2). As the Apostle wrote, “He who is spiritual judges all things” for “we have the mind of Christ” (1 Cor. 2:15-16).

ah ha now then - the difference that makes the difference between slip shod reading and right interpretation - know and finally accept that Jesus has the devil beaten - there is a lovely little piece titled 'My Advocate' that says "I sinned and straight away the devil flew to the throne of my high God and there he did accuse me day and night and every word he spoke O God my God was true - anyone know it - more later - twinc

missed teh last bit
if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
i suggest, just for purposes of revelation, that one reflect upon the possibility that it is not possible because the elect is a perception, not a truth. Iow i do not mean that there are no elect for a fact, bc obv i cannot prove this in court ok, but as far as getting closer to truth,

behold, the elect.
