Is "In God we trust" a lie?? What will be the cost for our unbelief in lives and money?? 2 Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."When I am afraid,
I will trust in you.
In God, whose word I

praise,
in God I trust; I will not be afraid.
What can mortal man do to me?" (Psalm 56:3-4)"Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me,
for in you my soul takes refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
until the disaster has passed." (Psalm 57:1)

Matthew 6:6 KJV
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Maybe someone is praying properly and thus, it isn't for you to hear.

I am saying that if we really believe "in God we trust" we should hear "church leaders" calling the 320 million Americans to pray for protection and help and that the hurricane be calmed down and turned away from our country. But do we really believe in God we trust??

Interesting point.
But it also causes me to think of Elijah and Elisha...both KNEW the heart of God...so THEY took the initiative and spoke the word in God's stead.

I am also reminded of Moses...when he " Cried to God " when they all came to the Red Sea...and the Egyptians were behind them.

God said to Moses " Why are you crying to Me?"
"What it in your hand?" Moses said " A rod"
So God says - " YOU stretch out YOUR hand over the water...etc.."

So often we sit crying and waiting for God to "do something"...when all along GOD is waiting for us to rise up and speak in His name.
He gave His authority to the Church...so the responsibility is not just on the 'leaders ' to do something...we have a mouth...it is our rod of authority. SPEAK in His name.

Very well put. I know a few Christians who just sit there wondering WHY God did or did not do something FOR them, complaints rather than gratitude. They are miserable and want everything to happen just as they had planned in their heads. Sorry but, I would MUCH rather God direct my plans and choices as, He never fails.
That's right sister, SPEAK IT! :)

Leaders are to lead otherwise they are of no good use.
Ephesians 4:11

“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”

Whatever. You seem to be one to just shift the blame...
Try growing up and becoming a mature son.

So I guess everything is their responsibility...not yours.
And you just a pew warmer...okay I got it...

Whatever...

Have a nice day...

Ministers put in place by God have a responsibility but so do the followers. Everyone needs to be watching:

"Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman:
If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.
He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul.
But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand." Ezek 33:2-6

I have not heard even one "church leader" call the church and 320 million Americans to pray that God calm down the hurricane and turn it away from the 5 + million people in it's path!!! Do we "" in God we trust"" or not??

Many people do not trust in God... but some do. I know some that do, but then again I know of too many who only pay lip service to God. Hurricane Florence may be the least of man's troubles before the end comes.

Has anyone considered that wild storms that come with high winds are God's pruning tool for his creation so that new growth can come.

If we build our structures so that they are strong to resist the forces of nature in appropriate locations, then the forces of nature will not prevail and overcome us.

Can we learn lessons from what happens naturally within nature so that we become strong in the soil of God's field with a dependence on God for our lives so that we obtain what is valuable in our lives.

If we build a house within the boundaries of a river's flood plain, then the living area of the house must be built high enough so that the living area of the house will not become flooded when the flood waters surge around the house. The foundations of the house must be strong and deep enough to withstand the surging flow of the water around the foundations so that they cannot fail.

Woe is me, because I have built my house out of the wrong stuff and in the wrong places without good foundations.

Telling God that He now cannot allow the wind and the rain to come because of our poor choices is nothing but foolishness.

Well why wait for the church leader? Just start praying!
Heavenly Father, I declare your Word as truth and that as it teaches us to rebuke the storm and to speak to it "peace, be still" in the name of Jesus that you are faithful to hear our prayers and to manifest your power through our faith to believe that what we pray we shall receive the answer. Father, you who commands the wind to blow and the seas to roar, are able to also command the wind and the seas to be still. I ask you now to spare the millions of lives and homes at stake here from the devastating affect a hurricane. Have mercy upon them Father and protect them....I ask that you do this in the Name of Jesus and declare it done. AMEN.

Ok... There is a Hurricane heading strait towards the Carolinas. Who is sending it? God is! I know no one wants to hear that, but its true.

I think what GISMY wants is for people to pray about this. People are going to die. So please... Pray about this storm. I think this is what he's looking for.

If he is simply looking to rebuke teleevangists... Shame on him.

You just need to just stop complaining and whining and get on with what you are called to do and be.

Stop pointing the finger at others and look to yourself.

Just because whatever ministers he is expecting to hear that are calling for prayer...how does he know who is and who isn't already praying???

It reminds me of Elijah when he complained and said to God.." I only I am left ..."

And God said to him... Just get a life , you are NOT the only holy one left... Or words to that effect. :)
God said:-
" I have yet reserved for myself 7000 which have NOT bowed the knee to Baal or kissed him..."

What power would the prayers of 320 million Americans have? Where is our "church" leadership?? We have two or three days to use the power of prayer or are we just too busy to bother??
