You must prove from scripture the gifts continued beyond the apostles. Only an apostle could distribute the charismatic gifts beyond the two outpourings.
This actually is what Protestants believe as to confession..that it did not go beyond the Apostles.

Have you never witnessed anything supernatural?

And the earth is flat.

See, I can make silly statements too! :)
Are you saying there are prophets today?
Like in the O.T. and the N.T.

WHO are they?
Prophecy ended with Jesus..otherwise, we should read up the Qu'ran
and that book by Joseph Smith and some others...

That is not biblical and without precedence, for the prophets of old did not confirm through the scriptures.

If you mean to "test every spirit", then by all means do so. But if you do so against the scriptures regarding the precedence set in the prophets, then it is you yourself who is doing so without the scriptures and by a contrary spirit.
You're responding to Dave L in post no. 145 with the above.

This is what @Dave L said:
Again, I would not be following Christ to believe anything not originating in scripture.

You're telling him the above statement of his is not biblical...
What's not biblical about it? It sounds very biblical to me...
especially for Protestants that prove everything by scripture.
Like the Bareans in Acts.

I've seen the prayer of faith heal, and demons flee. But scripture is our only source for divine revelation.

Willingly means the same as free will. In fact in some versions it says that he didn't want to go against Philemon's free will.

It's in the O.T.
Deuteronomy
Joshua
even free will offerings.

BUT, like I said before, I won't argue this with you because, as I said, how do you argue with someone who believes that GOD MAKES him WANT to do what he wants to do???

I'll only say this regarding the 3 points of the tulip that you agree with.
They're ALL wrong.
Sorry. But this could be for a different thread.
TULIP is right for the most part. Jesus told the pharisees he did not die for them. And this is the reason they did not believe. You believe because Jesus died for you. Had he not, you could not believe.

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11) (KJV 1900)
“But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.” (John 10:26) (KJV 1900)

This has to be correct.
God reveals Himself through the bible.

He can also reveal something spiritual to a person INDIVIDUALLY, but this is not to be shared with everyone a scriptural.

Acts 17:11

And the earth is still flat. Your theology is very flawed and full of ignorant suppositions. This is why Jesus called the age of the Reformation the dead church.

God is the Healer. He is not subject to the apostles or anyone.
We're not talking about healing. Only the "charismatic gifts" now replaced by scripture. You are in the devil's domain if you go beyond scripture for your insights.

I hate going back and forth with scripture.
You know very well that anything could be proven with verses.
How about taking the entire bible all together as one complete thought?

Does it seem to you that we can choose to worship God?
Can we decide to walk away from Him? Do you know anyone who ever has?
Too tired for this now...tomorrow.

In the meantime, what do you make of John 3:16?

You're quote about the sheep is right...no problem.
Only those who love Jesus and are His sheep hear His voice....no one else.

What do you mean by charismatic gifts replaced by scripture?
Like what, for instance?

Yes, but they love him only because he first died for them. Not the other way around.

Tongues, prophecy and word of knowledge. These came only during the two outpourings, or through the hands on an apostle. No longer available since the death of the apostles.

Explain
1 Timothy 2:4
and 2 Peter 3:9

The Lord desires that none should perish.
Then why do they?
Because they do NOT ACCEPT His conditions...

Later..

Scripture does when coupled with a RHEMA. Why is this still so hard for you to understand? And that is what Hagin taught.

I suspect you believe supernatural healing ended with the apostles. You seem to have more unbelief than belief.
We still have many dead in the WOF movement unheard of in the NT.

Read these in context and both verses speak of Christians, not unbelievers.

Wow. I agree with prophecy.
Tongues...I'm told some speak in tongues; people I trust. I've seen a lot of persons go up to an altar and try really hard to get this gift. I don't think we should try hard to get a gift -- we either get it or we don't.

Word of knowledge...I could tell you a story...About my own brother.

It's all false today. No true substance.

2 Peter
Are persons who have to come to repentance believers?
verse 9b

No matter what we want to say,,,it still states that God does not wish for any to perish. We do have a loving God, after all. Not a wicked one, which God would have to be to send some to hell for no reason at all.

1 Timothy
Please read again...paying attention to verse 2:1-3
WHO is Paul saying to pray for?
ALL MEN. Kings, all who are in authority...

God is a loving God and wishes all men to be saved...

John 3:20-21
Sounds like a choice to me...

John 5:40
Sounds like a choice to me...

John 8:51
Sounds like a choice...

John 10:3-4
Ditto...

John 11:25-26
Ditto...

John 12:32

I could go on forever.
And this is JESUS speaking.
must go now...please answer.

What happened to my brother was not false.
If Word of Knowledge means that a pastor knows something about you he could not possibly know,,,this did happen to my brother when he was a pretty new Christian many years ago.

BTW, I do know that some of it is fake to in order to condition the crowd.

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:4) (KJV 1900) = All people in general = not just Jews but gentiles too.

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) (KJV 1900) = not willing that any of us should perish but all come to repentance.

Beyond scripture you are in the devil's domain.
