Christians are a minority community in India. Last few years were difficult times for minorities living in this country. There might be few who weren't affected. I've seen myself, heard and even read about communal torture by religious fanatics. Our state is heading towards an election which is next month and that of our country, next year. I'm seeing our communities in here, coming together and praying for living and survival of Christians in India.

The people in this country had suffered from caste system for many centuries before it was invaded and ruled by Muslims and the British. Some religious fundamentalists still think of such discriminating social practices. I've heard of caste system still existing among Christians at some villages in India. There are some Christians who look down on others depending on whether they are a Roman Catholic or a Protestant Christian. This kind of discrimination makes a minority community too weak in this country. This would eventually inspire the prominent personalities of dominant religious groups to provoke people against minorities.

I've seen communal torture at work place in this city. I've seen people living in villages who bear the names of Hindhu religion even though they are Christians. There are Christians in this country, who live in fear.

It gives me hope when political leaders express their support (in south India) whenever requests are made by our religious associations. It gives me courage when our associations fight for our representation in the Parliament as this is a democratic country. Change should come in the Christian community at the individual level. The Christians in here still need to learn to be broadminded and united in face of the multi-religious society. We cannot afford to discriminate each other with the thinking of being a Roman Catholic or a Protestant Christian.

Please pray for unity among Christians in India. Please pray for people in here to vote for secular parties in the coming elections. Please pray for the representation of our community in the Parliament. Also please pray for the survival and better living of Christians in India.

All glory to God.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! God has given me a heart for India, and I pray that the light of the gospel will shine in the darkness throughout India and that many will be saved. I also pray for unity among believers there.

Love the new avatar. :)

Praying with you...thank you so much for the update here.
We are ignorant of all the goings on over there...prayer is much better when we are informed, and know more , ..and how to pray.

Helen! It's so nice to see you on the forum again. I've been wondering how you're doing.:)

The issue is not politics.

The issue more fundamentally - and with eternal consequences - is justification. See Romans chapter 5. Also, Hebrews chapters 9 and 10 regarding the finished work of Christ at the Cross.

Leave politics alone, when it comes to Biblical doctrine.

You have my prayers. When I see all the true persecution of the saints in other countries, I cannot help but think of how strong a faith one must have in Jesus, to live under that kind of persecution, and still press on! God bless and keep you all.

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Daniel 4:17 . . the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

Romans 9:17 . . Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew My power in thee, and that My name might be declared throughout all the earth."

India’s present president is Ram Nath Kovind, and his religion Hinduism. Did God put him there, and for what purpose? With Pharaoh it was to remove Israel from Egypt.

How does God think this might have positive effect on our brethren?

Act 9:23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews (In Damascus) took counsel to kill him (the Apostle Paul): . . Should Paul have stayed in Damascus, or did God have purpose in Paul going to Jerusalem?

Does suffering with Christ enter the equation? Heb 5:8 Though He (Jesus) were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered;

I will certainly pray for your nation Brother Prashanthd, and that that which our Father has purposed there comes to pass in Jesus’ name. Not only India, but the entire world is coming to a time before us never before we read of in the following scripture.

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Though small now in India remember the parable of the Mustard seed. Sown by the early disciples it yet grows.

Mark 4:30-32 KJVS
And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? [31] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: [32] But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
