Good question. I believe we will definitely know other people when we are in heaven. Our relationship with them won't be the same... because we will no longer have a need for relationships (I don't beleve) with anyone but Our Father. However, I believe we will be aware of who others are in heaven. The reason I believe we will know who other people are when we get to heaven is a couple fold.In Matthew 22:23-33 when Jesus is confronted by some Sadducees about who's wife (IN HEAVEN) a woman will be, whom has had seven husbands, who were brothers... Jesus corrects their theology, explaining that we will not be given into marriage at all in heaven, and then Jesus says this.
Mat22:31-32But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.
Jesus is basing his entire theology on one word... the word "am". God says, I *am* the god of... Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Not, I *was* the God of... Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. These past heroes of ours, keep their identity, as God says He *currently is* the God of Abramam, Isaac, and Jacob. Jesus said He is God of the living, not of the dead. They keep their identity.Furthermore, I do not believe we will be dumber in heaven then we are on earth. If you are smart enough, and whole enough to recognize someone here... surely you will recognize them in heaven. I don't know what those relationships will be like, but I believe it is absolutely accurate to say about dead brothers and sisters in Christ, "I will someday see you again in heaven."

If you are talking about when you die We are told be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. Our souls/spirit were all created at one time before this world age began it is why God said he foreknew some. It is appointed once for each soul to die that is be born of flesh souls know each other beyond the flesh. Now you seem to be mixing the New Heaven and new earth of Rev. that happens after the great white throne judgement where there will be no more sin and God will wipe away our tears and there will no more pain but at this time no flesh exists we are all in our natural spirit bodies these spirit bodies are not ghosts they have substance remember when Christ returned in his resurrected body you could touch him he could eat he was in a spirit body.

Of course Jesus was born flesh but after he was crusified he came back and all saw him they could touch him and he ate. MAT 28 5The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." 8So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 9Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me." 16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Heres John speaking after the resurection Jhn 20:18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and [that] he had spoken these things unto her. Jhn 20:19 ¶ Then the same day at evening, being the first [day] of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you. Jhn 20:24 ¶ But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. Jhn 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. Jhn 20:26 And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: [then] came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace [be] unto you. Jhn 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. Jhn 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jhn 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed [are] they that have not seen, and [yet] have believed. Jhn 20:30 ¶ And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: Jhn 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Jhn 20:20 And when he had so said, he shewed unto them [his] hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. Jhn 20:21 Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you. Jesus remained with the disciples untill he ascented into heaven with Enoch and Moses as the aspostels watched We are made in the image of God and the angels we have a Body, mind, and soul only the flesh dies When Jesus returns he turns all back to their spirit bodies 1Cr 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.Heaven is on earth at the End of the age and flesh and blood can not enter into heaven

Does that mean they were with Jesus, what does that verse mean? isen't this a whole other story.
Yes it means they came to accompany Jesus to heaven to take his seat at the right hand of God and yes its kind of a different story, its Christ Ascension but you asked so I was just answering your question

9After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

jb, did you actually go back and read Matthew 17:3? This is the event called the Transfiguration. It is totally different from Jesus' final ascension into heaven. This is when He was with His disciples after many religious leaders had questioned who He was and He had asked His own disciples who they said that He was. He took Peter, James, and John up on a high mountain and there He was transfigured before their eyes. That is when Moses and Elijah appeared and were talking with Jesus. Peter wanted to build a tabernacle for all 3 of them because he didn't understand what was going on. While they were standing there, a bright cloud overshadowed them and a the voice of God spoke. The disciples fell on their faces in fear. This was taken totally out of context. There is no place where it is mentioned that Moses and Elijah accompanied Jesus in His ascension. The 2 men mentioned are said to be angels. Remember, angels can take on human characteristics. See Hebrews 13:2.

Think about this too. Since the disciples had already seen Moses and Elijah on the Mount of Transfiguration, why would they have called the men in Acts 1:9-11 "two men in white apparel"? They would have called them by their names. This is purely speculative. Only a few hold to this theory.

There is a flaw in your logic. Gabriel is an angel, and his name is often translated "man of God" although I have heard it also as "champion of God." That's not my entire point however; this verse is:Daniel 9:21
Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.
Angel in the Hebrew means messenger. Angels are frequently referred to as men. When Abraham saw the angel of the Lord, he described it as a man.Genesis 18:1-2
And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
Similarly, Satan is called a man in Isaiah 14.
