Salvation is something to continue in and no Calvinistic game...

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. - John 4:23-24

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; - John 8:31

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.
22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. - Romans 11

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; - Colossians 1:23

I worked with three ladies in my factory making samples. These ladies were all Baptist, cheerful, decent, and I would not doubt if they were to tell me they were eternally saved, especially as I don't see it in their character. And this was also true of the old people in the Baptist church I was brought up in. They continued in the way they were brought up in.

And then my generation came along.

In the Baptist church I was brought up in we had a large youth group and all the adults thought of them as angels and good saved Christians. That was until someone busted them in one of their dope smoking parties. I also met a lady who is in her fifties as well as I. This lady was Baptist, single, never married, and I thought we were the perfect fit... But the more that woman talked... Come to find out that she sees nothing wrong with the party or sex scene. I finally, after enduring much talk on carnality, said to her, "You know I don't believe you can do those things and get to heaven." Almost immediately she replies, "Are you trying to threaten my salvation?" She thought because she got saved as a little one licenses her to do whatever she pleases.

Of all the young people I know growing up not a one of them shows any fruit of Christianity. The matters of eternal significance are the furthest thing from their carnal mind. I believe that the Lord also takes issues with this...

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. - Revelation 3:5

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. - Mark 13:13

This is my main gripe against Calvinism, and that is it gives people a false sense of eternal security. This is a race to be run, to be continued in, and not a destination at some point of doctrinal sense.

The road is narrow, per Jesus' words. But, Jesus empowers His sheep to walk the narrow road, for we are not alone.

I will up that one... And.... Thank God for that!

You do not understand that Calvinism = holiness (the Puritans) and only those who are not saved will live in sin.

The biblical language used is in "past tense" since the cross, i.e., we "were" crucified and raised up with Christ, meaning that our salvation is not "a process" as some believe. But as it is clearly stated, at that very hour we become "a new creation" born anew "of the spirit of God", "old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new."

Thus, the language and the passages that would appear to indicate something different, something over time, something of a process, actually mean something else. For scripture cannot be against scripture, but is the renderings of one mind by God. Therefore, contrary to what some believe, the appearance of a process over time, is not for the one who's hour of decision has come and gone, but rather for each new generation, for which Paul clarifies, saying "each in his own order."

And this is the work of the church, for which Christ "Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" unto every generation.

Yes, His sheep are empowered but if they fail to properly use that God given power, then they are to blame for their own loss.

If the doctrine of salvation was properly taught from the Bible and understood, all Christians would know that salvation has three tenses:

PAST TENSE -- JUSTIFIED BY GOD AND SANCTIFIED BY THE GIFT OF THE SPIRIT

PRESENT TENSE -- BEING CONTINUOUSLY SANCTIFIED BY THE POWER OF THE SPIRIT

FUTURE TENSE -- BEING GLORIFIED AND PERFECTED AT THE RESURRECTION/RAPTURE BY THE POWER OF GOD AND CHRIST

The New Testament is full of teaching about Christians working out their own salvation with fear and trembling -- being transformed into the image of Christ.

Slight tweak.
PAST TENSE and PRESENT TENSE depending on when obtained.

If you kick in God's foreknowledge it is all future.
