Heart = spirit.No. Born again cleanses the spirit, not the heart.
The Holy Spirit did not indwell and cleanse anyone until after the resurrection. That requires requires blood of Christ.

A slight digression, but wasn't Saul filled with the Holy Spirit, doesn't it mention at one time that the spirit of God left him.( or was that Samson !! Lol ) either way- was that not the same as ' indwelling ?
I am not saying I don't agree with there being a difference after Pentecost, but just wondered if ' at times, if God willed it ' it happened from time to time prior to Pentecost ?

We are body, soul, and spirit. Which do you think is the heart (metaphorically speaking)?False.
Heart = spirit.
“He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” (Matthew 22:37)No, actually it doesn't. A heart can be "darkened" but the spirit is never spoken of that way. It is the spirit which is born again from above. Before conversion, a person still has a heart (although a "foolish" one--"The fool says, in his heart, 'there is no God'."). Most believe that the "soul" and the "heart" are roughly equivalent. But, we were meant to be tri-partite beings--see 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Body, soul, and spirit.
We are body, soul, and spirit. Which do you think is the heart (metaphorically speaking)?
Not being funny, but isn't it also presumption to say ' he most likely brought the best of his crop ' the truth is that we don't actually know because there is not enough information about the crops he brought, all we know is that what he brought was not what God wanted. I honestly had not considered the fact that he needed to bring a blood sacrifice too until I read the study the other day !

The characteristics of the circumcised heart and the new birth are the same.soul
When he acknowledged he was looking to the sacrifice of Christ to cover his sin. Same with Abraham and all Saints
You are correct there is not enough information, and this is only an assumption on our part nevertheless it is a possibility. Nothing in the account implies Cain’s offering was not the very best of his crops.
Imagine yourself in his shoes; what type of sacrifice would you have given to the LORD God your creator? Would you have chosen the very best of your crops or simply whatever was at hand at the time?
Faith is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. So all of the faithful in Hebrews 11 had the Holy Spirit.
You are confusing the New Birth with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The Scriptures make a distraction between the faithful of the past who were moved by the holy spirit, and those during the Gospel age who are begotten by the holy spirit. Both have the holy spirits presence and guidance, but only those begotten of the holy spirit are begotten to a new nature, a spirit nature.
In the next age the Lord will pour out his spirit on all flesh (Joel 2:28), they will all have the holy spirits presence in and with them, but they will not experience a change of nature, that is something which is restricted to the Gospel age and only to those called of God.
"Now is the acceptable time"
The characteristics of the circumcised heart and the new birth are the same.
“And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.” (Deuteronomy 30:6)No they are not
He was not born again. No one was until the resurrection.
That is what Russell taught that JW and Bible Students believe. But it is falseThis is true, no one begotten of the holy spirit during the Gospel age is born of the holy spirit until they have experienced their resurrection change.
First, if we are called we are begotten of the spirit, then comes the gestation period in which the "new creature" in us develops, but presently we are only in possession of the new mind, not the new body. We will not receive this until our resurrection change.
If we make our calling and election sure, and are proven faithful until death, we will receive the divine nature, immortality and share with Christ in his throne and his glory and in the blessings of the world.
If we felled to make this calling and election sure, but nevertheless refuse to deny our Lord we will still be resurrected spirit beings, but on a much lower plane of being than our more faithful brethren.
The third option is Second Death.
If you had read our post you would have noted we never said that Abel offered the first animal sacrifice (it was God who sacrificed the first animal), we simply stated that Abel’s offering of a lamb as a sacrifice (in distinction with any other type of animal sacrifice) was the first sacrifice proved acceptable.
Likewise there is nothing in the Genesis narrative which suggests that Adam and Eve witnessed the sacrifice of the animal in whose skins they were covered, nor is it mentioned anywhere what type of animal was sacrificed.
As for the inference that Adam and Eve offered sacrifices prior to Abel, this too is only speculation, there is no evidence to support this.
The fact that the Scriptures note specifically that the LORD accepted Abel’s sacrifice of a lamb as an acceptable offering suggest that it was the first such acceptable sacrifice.
Nevertheless there is no need to be dogmatic on this issue as regardless of what one believes it is not pertinent to their salvation
Why do you use plural expressions in your posts i.e ' an assumption on our part ' and in another post you used ' if you had read ' our ' post ?
