I was thinking this morning about the many time we Christians wonder why God does not answer prayer.
Or we often hear someone say. "Why isn't God hearing me?"

Then, we remember in Daniel 10

"Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia
."

So we see the situation. It was NOT God withholding the answer to Daniels prayer, but an evil angel of the Enemy blocking the answer...it even took extra help, the angel Michael to come along and fight with the angel with carrying the message.

I so often forget the delays of the Enemy. And we tend to always think that God's ear is closed to us.
The encouragement is, it says in that verse:-
"for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard."

We tend to forget just how busy the Enemy is against God's people.
There is much warfare going on.

Yes Helen, and to all, I find the above soo true everyday.
The book of Revelation informs us that throughout history the true believers have been accused “day and night,” so much so that Satan is called “the accuser of our brethren” (12:10). From the book of Job (Chs. 1-2) we are instructed as to some of the traits of Satan’s accusation of the believer:

Revelation 12:10 New International Version (NIV)
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
Which reminds us as: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.

Addressing the OP, good post, and good replies. but sometimes when we ask God for something we might ask amiss. or we might just don't need what we ask for right then. I'm glad now that somethings I asked God for and he did not give me it at all, (thank you Jesus). but as with Daniel, the prophet and king David said it best, Psalms 27:14 "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD".

Good things comes to those who wait. and when you get, man it was on time.

The above reminds us of: Isaiah 40:31 31but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Love you all.

Thanks for the Post. this reminds me of My wife and I was going to get financing on our first house. after being accepted, and qualifying for a new home Loan, we were called to come in, sign and close the deal. well when we got to the finance and title company, something was wrong, and we could not close the deal. so on our way home we prayed about it while, and thank God (of all thing while driving). about half way home, the finance and title company called us on the cell phone and asked if we could come back and finish the deal for what was wrong was worked out. this remined me of your scripture you posted, Isaiah 40:31 31 "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint".

this is true, for I have experence this first hand. we as christian, are alway the victor/winner in God. for, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD", Isaiah 54:17 (kjv). and God don't lie. amen... Glory to God.

In my study of revelation this morning it mentioned about the ' prayers of Gods people ' going before the throne- this was just prior to the seven trumpets being sounded and all kinds of things being released. It mentioned about the parallels with the plagues when Gods people were in Eqypt and what the trumpets heralded. It struck me that prior to all the plagues God had ' heard the cries of his people ' and then everything stated to happen, but for some time it would have been negatives being experienced. However it led to release and rescue. You know we look at the world and all the problems and kind of presume that it's Satan that has the upper hand, we do not actually look upon it all as leading to the ultimate rescue of mankind. All the prayers of the people signalled things being released............ certain things have to happen in order to bring Satan down.

Good stuff Rita,
Revelation is initially what really got me interested in all things God as, there was just no refuting His prophetic word! So very interesting.
