Good Post.

Yes, that would be a basic conclusion regarding two people.

However I believe on a deeper note...
When the thoughts of ones MIND and the thoughts of ones SPIRIT (in his Heart) are NOT in agreement; the man walks in Disagreement with himself.

Kind of a rocky road to walk with an other IN agreement, when one is in Disagreement with himself.

The Scriptural teaching is:
ONCE a man IS IN agreement in his SPIRIT, with Christ, they walk together SPIRITUALLY, and the MAN is SUPPOSED TO Using the Internal Spiritual Power of God to conform his own MIND in subjection TO the thoughts of his spirit.

If an when a man accomplished THAT ^, he is said to have a MIND LIKE CHRIST.

Forward, the man can continue to Walk IN the SPIRIT with Christ AND Walk with other men also in the Spirit of Christ AND those who have also a MIND LIKE CHrIST.

Glory to God,
Taken
In the end, the spiritual perspective is Godward, right?

I think a study of John's First Epistle with its strong theme of fellowship, would be good in the light of Amos 3.3.

Only by walking in righteousness can any two people walk together forever in peace.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, it would be good if professing Christians who are always talking about so called 'unity' could relate what they are pushing for to actual Biblical doctrine; a radical re-think might then be necessary.

Yes striving for true unity is the goal. True unity as per scripture is having the “fellowship of the Spirit”. Which is when one’s personal relationship with Christ is touching, speaking, having intercourse with another persons personal relationship with Christ. All else is human reasoning being in agreement, which sooner or later will devolve into opinions.

Blessings as we strive to make this a living reality in our lives.

It's a spiritual unity which in principle is already there, and not something that has to be imposed.

Experiencing and tasting this “fellowship of the Spirit” is a awesome blessing indeed.

Bearing in mind the principle of Amos 3.3, the theme of fellowship in John's First Epistle (there are other New Testament references also) makes for a good study.

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" Amos 3.3

Food for thought...

On secondary issues, such as end times, alcohol, smoking/chewing, attire at church, yes. But on the essentials, no.

But the context of Amos 3 is God’s ppl mingling with the world. We’re commanded to not marry a lost person(if we are saved), as that will cause strife.

It's funny how so many Christians don't seem to see the unequal yoke in marriage as leading to problems...

That’s why God commanded Israel not to marry pagans who resided outside of Israel. It would lead them into idolatry. Marrying a lost person could drag you away from the things of God.
