I would like to thank you all for the kind words, it’s helped me out a lot.

I was feeling helpless and searching the Internet for biblical words of encouragement and came across this forum, and am glad I joined.

Many of times I felt like giving up, but have always turned to Jesus and persevered on, just that lately it’s been a little harder.

Everyone who has posted in this thread has helped me a lot, God bless you all.

Remind me not to ask you for prayer! Yikes! Lol.
Just curious about how well you survived as a new born again believer? Did you know all these scriptures? Did you have anyone teach you?
As scripture says...as babes we are fed the "milk" of His Word until we are spiritually mature enough to receive the "meat" of it.

@JohnPaul said: "I’m a firm believer in God, I was raised Catholic but have since become non denominational."

Why do you treat this person as an infant?!? Treat a grown man as a man, and he'll be a man. Treat a grown man as an infant, and he'll be an infant. Mommy, I need a drink, -- NOT!

You know, I mentored a grown man (late teens) who liked being "nursed" by his mom. So when he acted like a child, I'd grab my chest and tell him, here -- get a sip. Funny thing is, -- he'd stop acting like a child. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Whew,
Bobby Jo

hello JP....persevere. All things that happen are for our growth/edification even if we don't see it as such. Abandonment is not part of God's agenda. Be strong.
Agreed , and to add to this , sometimes we need to take some actions ourselves, then God will lead us to make new personal network connections, and open doors to a brighter future. Give thanks for God's help ahead, believing and trusting in His goodness as our Father as He promises in the scriptures, to know our needs before we ask and that He will give us good gifts.

And so why does Paul say in Hebrews that by this time they should be teachers but he finds them in need of the milk again....
Hebrews 5:11–14...sometimes it is not necessarily the student who errs in maturing if the teacher is lacking.
So accept the fact that some are still growing....and just be HUMBLE and compassionate when they ask for prayer and Godly advice.

And by the way, you'd better get moving NOW, because we're already one year into the 42 month (Rev. 13:5) tribulation, and there ain't no magic parachute which the church deceives so many with.
Everyone should take this with A POUND of salt.

That might be your opinion re:Hebrews 5, but THAT certainly was not at all what Paul was teaching in Hebrews 5:11-14. He scolded them saying , "it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand...." Apostle Paul was indeed criticizing the members of the body who had been fed / taught enough that by now they themselves should be serving as teachers but since they were failing to grow in righteousness they failed to grow period and still needed milk and telling them THEY were lacking and had become dull of hearing. He reproved them, he did not say anything akin to oh you are still growing so just grow at your own pace. He essentially said , "You are not little babies, you should not continue to need the basics over and over again...so wake up , listen up and grow up, please!, the Lord's kingdom needs workman not a bunch of babes..." with Love, Paul
That's what I get from it. Now , that doesn 't mean people don't need prayer and compassion, but overly treating people as infants does cripple them eventually.

What's your point? Don't encourage people when they come here seeking advice, encouragement or to learn?
Even the disciples teach to exhort and uplift one another....
I will never cease to have need at times in my life to have someone remind me of what scripture has to say about the matter.
And trust me...I am very skilled in the Word.

I can think of churches that seem to show this.

We should always do this!

Much love!

How do I give praise reports? You will most certainly get a good one.
There is a Praise Forum here where members give God Praise through their testimony of what He did for them...giving Him all the glory.
So basically when things start looking up for you come and share!
