Everyone should take this with A POUND of salt.

... only those people who prefer to be SURPRISED:

1 Thess. 5:3 When people say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as travail comes upon a woman with child, and there will be no escape.

For the rest of us, we might wish to be informed:

1 Thess. 5:4 But you are not in darkness, brethren, for that day to surprise you like a thief.

Ignorant Vs Informed, -- it's a choice,

@JohnPaul said: "I’m a firm believer in God, I was raised Catholic but have since become non denominational."

Why do you treat this person as an infant?!? Treat a grown man as a man, and he'll be a man. Treat a grown man as an infant, and he'll be an infant. Mommy, I need a drink, -- NOT!

You know, I mentored a grown man (late teens) who liked being "nursed" by his mom. So when he acted like a child, I'd grab my chest and tell him, here -- get a sip. Funny thing is, -- he'd stop acting like a child. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Whew,
Bobby Jo

Wow....what a tough guy

Your self-righteous pride in how you think we should all be at your level of faith, knowledge, or understanding could become an area that the Holy Spirit will convict your heart and then allow you to experience humility through trials and tribulations.
But i dunno...I can't imagine that He is pleased with your sarcasm and bullying.

I don't get it. From what I see, -- live your life:

Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

Did you expect bolts of lightning, the heavens to open up, manna to fall from heaven? Really?

Do the things which GOD expects, put your hand to the spiritual and physical plow, and keep moving one foot in front of the other. Let GOD worry about straightening your path while you do everything else the BEST YOU CAN.

OR, -- lay around on the sofa, watching OPRAH®, eating a bag of Lays® potato chips, and sipping a Pepsi®, feeling like you're not succeeding, -- which you won't be.

And by the way, you'd better get moving NOW, because we're already one year into the 42 month (Rev. 13:5) tribulation, and there ain't no magic parachute which the church deceives so many with.

Seriously Bobby jo - is that your favourite verse at the moment- and do you honestly think throwing that summery at everyone is called ' coming alongside ' people.
Maybe it's just me, but it didn't seem appropriate !!

And I stand by what I have provided. We're not to coddle each other, -- we're to exhort, reprove, and admonish. So my exhortation is to not have a pity party. Take life head-on with all your strength and endurance:

Rev. 13:10 ... Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
Rev. 14:12 Here is a call for the endurance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

... and use all the resources at your disposal:

Luke 22:35 And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no purse or bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” 36 He said to them, “But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag. And let him who has no sword sell his mantle and buy one.

... and you might inherit the Kingdom of Heaven:

Matt. 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force. -- If better rendered should read: The kingdom of heaven is obtain by pursuit, and pursuers take it by ardent action.

You mean the way the Lord backhand slapped Elijah for running away from Jezebel, and read him the riot act for heading out far into the wilderness in fear? Oh, wait...

I see a man who is weak in spirit right now. He is also weak in the faith so, do these things mean we are to immediately breakout all of the "correction" scriptures and whip him into shape!??
I prefer to pray for his weaknesses right now, and to give him a little bit of encouragement. I'm not sure if we are on the same page here, maybe? lol

I'm reminded of Jonah....and Heb 12:6
What about... Hebrews 12: 6 “My son, do not take lightly the discipline of the Lord, and do not lose heart when He rebukes you. 6For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” 7Endure suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?…"
I've received the chastisement.
Please keep in mind this post of mine has nothing whatsoever to do with the OP, (since apparently I have to say that or else this will be assumed even when the OP is not mentioned in my post and I'm strictly thinking of scriptures. )

I’m new here and don’t really know where to post this.

I’m a firm believer in God, I was raised Catholic but have since become non denominational.

Lately I have been feeling like I have no where to turn to, my job is a dead end job, and I think they’re about to let me go, simply because I get reactions from one of the chemicals I have to work with, I pray to Jesus to come into my life and help me through these things, I even ask Jesus to please help me find a better job so that I may be happier in life.

But nothing seems to happen, I pray every night and I am starting to feel an emptiness inside of me, I repent for all the wrong doings I have done in my life and beg for forgiveness, so that I may be saved.

Can someone please help me?
Sometimes having a heart to heart with the Lord is what is we need in order to feel close with Him again. I find giving thanks is something we forget to bring into our prayers and offer Him along with our Love. Speak to God as a son in Jesus name, telling the Father & the Lord Jesus that you want more then anything to have a close relationship with them to feel the Lord as your anchor and refuge. Send Him offerings of your love, praise and gratitude for all that He does that has sustained you and lead you to seek HIM. The Psalms are great places to find wonderful prayers to read to God.

What if the Holy Spirit lead him to give that advice? Perhaps he is trying to encourage him to get into the scriptures and find comfort there? and guidance there?

My theory is when the Bible talks about a strong drink to help the perishing in Proverbs 31, it really means coffee.

Kidding. :) but there are some encouraging threads in the fellowship and praise sections.

When I was at Teen Challenge, they sent me with a small group of girls to a candle/oil place. I had to leave, because I turned beet red from my head to my feet. I guess I was allergic to about everything there...but perhaps if you are having some problems, looking for a place in your free time might help if they suddenly let you go. Hopefully not, but if so, you could probably be eligible for unemployment because of the circumstances to help you.
