How Powerful Is the Power of Prayer? How Can We Gain It?
The Bible records many stories in which situations take a turn for the better and problems are solved through the power of prayer.

Lord Jesus said, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).

First, the power of prayer is so great.
Jehovah God said, “Then shall you call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you” (Jeremiah 29:12). God straightforwardly told us that as long as we genuinely call out and pray to Him, He will accomplish everything we ask for. Indeed, the Bible records many stories in which situations take a turn for the better and problems are solved through the power of prayer. For example, when God gave a revelation to Noah and let him make an ark, though he had never seen what an ark looked like, through sincerely praying to God, he miraculously built a big ark under God’s guidance and enlightenment, and when the world was destroyed by flood his family of eight survived. When Joshua led the people of Israel to attack Jericho, it was through praying that they finally won the victory. It was also through praying that the people of Nineveh gained God’s mercy and weren’t destroyed by God, able to go on living. When Esther and her Israeli compatriots fasted and prayed for three days and nights, Jehovah God heard their prayers and helped them be spared a catastrophe. From all this, we can see how great the power of prayer is. When we sincerely offer up prayers to God and look up to Him with our hearts, something marvelous and unexpected will happen—the power of prayer is indeed that great and prayer is extremely important. All this gives us a message: As Christians, regardless of whether it is in our life or work or when we encounter other things, as long as we sincerely pray to God and learn to rely on God, God will surely listen to our prayers and solve the difficulties we face, thus allowing us to feel His real existence.

Gee whiz, I don't even have to pray anymore...hahaha, tho, I do...what I mean is ...since I have a close intimate relationship
with God...my gosh, I can just think of something...and there it is within minutes...OH my, the examples I could give...
but they are so extraordinarily, ridiculously, impossible things ...not one person could really believe me.
So I'm not asking for anything...He simply knows my need.

Ok, I will give only one example, ha and this is not the most amazing, this is everyday stuff to me...but, it is a
more relatable story of not even needing to ask God or pray to our Father for something.

I was stuck...I HAD to go out of state and 'get' my mother, 88,...and within 2 weeks, no less!,... in the winter, mountains
in between us.
Oh brother. And she was a pill!! Meaning one tough cookie!
She could not live with me...pet conflicts and really no room.
I never looked once or picked up a phone to look for a place for her, never asked God for anything...why?
Because I knew my Heavenly Father would take of it.
That is the confidence I have in Him.

Playoff Sunday, I get a call: 'OMG, come to this Bronco party...there is a guy that has a place for your mom!'
I got a house, 325 footsteps from my front door...."of course".
In a city of 500,000 people.
Was I surprised?...not one bit...was I amazed? Not one bit....this is business as usual when you 100% rely on the Lord...
you adore Him and He adores you...and you know He hears every thought in your head...knows your confidence in Him.

There are WAY more amazing impossible things He has pulled out of His Hat......so, relying on God or answered prayers are
as common as relying on your son when you say, "Pick up some milk."....
Well, more reliable than that one...bad example. ;)

The power of prayer is pretty powerful.
For example, in 2018 the minister of agriculture in Israel asked all the priests and regular people to pray in Jerusalem’s west wall, for rain.
The country was going through the worst drought in 40 years.
So a lot of people went to the wall and prayed. A few people ridiculed the minister for asking this in the first place but guess what?
Their prayers were answered and rain came!

Well yes, when you’re praying, you are praying to God so of course the power comes from him but the first step is praying and then the Father decides on who to answer.

Prayer has no power, only God has power. People have power on the earth to do and to think as humans do. God has power to create the universe and heal us of things. We need to remember to be humble in that we have not those powers. Therefore our prayer is only a sweet scent to God that he may act in our lives with his power.

Prayer is great way to communicate with God. You can ask him for help in the Holy Spirit in your life.

“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.”
‭‭James‬ ‭5:17-18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If Elijah was able to pray and ask God who provided.

How much more with the Holy Spirit?

““So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:9-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:22-24‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You can ask for help in your life with areas you may be struggling in be it drugs or something plaguing you from our evil thoughts in our hearts.

“And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:20-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Asking God in prayer to help you become less prideful, less lewd, having an evil eye, being deceitful.

The power of prayer is effective and God desires to hear and listen to us
.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
‭‭I Peter‬ ‭5:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

See here he does hear you,

“In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let us boldly go to God, to find grace and mercy for help in our time of need.

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

What a great gift God has given to you, Christian.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:1-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You have the Holy Spirit, your sins are forgiven, God desires to help you in your life by the spirit that lives inside of you!

“But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.

(And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God.

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:9-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Be encouraged to read your Bible!

God bless.
