John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

You either get your identity from what you have done in life, or you get your identity from Christ in you. You either identify with all the things that made you a you, or you see through it to Christ now. Such as; Christ as the doer, so to speak, using your background, your training, your ways become his ways when nessarry. It is nolonger just a you you, it is now a you joined unto another new life that is shared life. Shared by the knowledge of the Christ in you you have. Simple way to look at it is, "it is nolonger you that lives, but Christ lives in you, yet you live Paul said but the life you now live is the life of another. So you nolonger have an old life to live is what he is saying, all you have is a new life. You can only think (mind issue) you have an old life to live.

How do we get a new life? by accepting the finished work of the cross. Do you know what the finished work of the cross is? It is Christ crucifying the old man on the cross (no wonder Paul was determined to know nothing but Christ crucified). The old man is dead as Christ was when he died on the cross. What a message of hope, the gospel is the greatest news that can come to hopeless humanity. Sometimes we get caught up in our own situations in life and forget the world, the world needs Jesus, the world needs to hear the gospel.

They dont need corrected in their mess they need to hear hope, they are already living in misery and need a life-line. They need to know that thing that drives their sin and deep inhibitions is dead in Christ. The nature that caused all their pain and suffering is dead and gone, destroyed by Christ on the cross, never to be resurrected. They dont have to live for sins pleasure for a moment, that causes a lifetime of pain. They don't have to be addicted to every body pull imaginable, and therapists taking them back to relive it over and over again. There is hope for the vicious cycle of humanities debauchery. That hope comes one way and one way only, by the cross of Calvary and the delivering power of Jesus Christ to set a captive free. It comes by that one life that changed all life, Christ in you the hope of glory. No other way, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Thanks for posting this, soul man.

We need to remember that as believers in Jesus Christ, the life we now live is by faith - in and of- Jesus. We are not alone! He ever lives in and through us! We just have to remember that He is the vine and we are the branches. And that apart from Him, we can do nothing. But with Him, as we submit ourselves to Him, all things are possible!

How true that the world needs life. Nothing else will do - no psychology will fix people's dead spirits - only Jesus. We are all broken, and the only fix is death and resurrection in Jesus. Those of us who have this new life in Him need to spread it around, but it's easy to get distracted and forget this. Thanks for reminding me!

Blessings to you!

You get a new life by being baptized into Christ by the Lord's anointed. Moreover the scripture about Jesus being the way the truth and the life was referring to his Spirit.

The shallow way of a human belief puts Jesus in our lives as a "wishful thinking" operation that seeks to include Jesus in our own carnal lives.

But this is both a fiction and backwards.

We are to enter into Christ's life to live in a miraculous power....the same power that Jesus walked in. That is what grace is about.

I have known many believers who have been reduced to saying..."whatever I do that is right is Christ...and whatever I do wrong is me!"And these have the arrogance to consign others to hell for actually doing better than they are doing. How can these not fall under divine judgment?

But Jesus will have none of it. It is all the flesh.

The flesh is looking desperately to save itself...to be seen as Christian...to associate itself with the One who saves. But this all falls under the religious strategies of the carnal mind. Subtle...yes. But easy to discern when one compares one's own life with what we read about in Acts.

Where is the honesty today?

I have known many believers who have been reduced to saying..."whatever I do that is right is Christ...and whatever I do wrong is me!"

That is Biblical, actually. Romans 7; Galatians 5:17 &c.

And these have the arrogance to consign others to hell for actually doing better than they are doing. How can these not fall under divine judgment?

There is a never-ending assertion that you are always better than others, that you know who is hellbound, and who is not, who is better (generally you) and who is worse (generally others). Well, you really don't know this, it's simply more Luke 18:9-11.

Where is the honesty today?

Hmmmm...better yet, where is the humility that comes when one is truly in Christ? Lot's of self-righteousness, not a speck of the grace of being in Christ that shows humility, and thinks of others better than himself, not as the above; Philippian 2:3.

No friend it doesn't work like that. You must believe to be baptized into Christ then being in the body of Christ you are given the Spirit of Christ which shall save you from death. He that believes and is baptized shall be saved.

The Hope of the world. “the delivering power of Jesus Christ to set a captive free.” Not sure the hope of this world (age)that passes away is the same hope of Hebrews 6:4-5 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, [5] And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world (age)to come,

“...to set the captive free” ...freedom from vanity, futility, Emptiness. In Jesus Christ said He is the way, the truth, and the Life... there is movement there as He says what follows. Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

No - when you're BAPTIZED, you are Baptized into the Body of Christ.

Christ told Nicodemus that unless a man is born of WATER and Spirit (Baptism), he cannot enter the Kingdom of God (John 3:5).
Baptism brings about the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:39). Baptism is surrender to Christ.

'For God so loved the world,
.. that He gave His only begotten Son,
.... that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish,
...... but have everlasting life.
For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world;
.. but that the world through Him might be saved.
He that believeth on Him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already,
because He hath not believed in The Name of the only begotten Son of God.'

(John 3:16-18)

Praise His Holy Name!

Hello @soul man,

Yes, the Lord woke me up to my need of a Saviour, in a 'Youth For Christ' rally in the local Town Hall. I was just twelve years old, and remember walking home in the dark, with a sky full of stars, my eyes riveted to one particular star that I convinced myself was moving along with me, my heart was so full of joy at the awareness of being forgiven for all my sin, and of the knowledge that the Lord Jesus Christ was my Saviour.

I had a lot to learn, and a long way to go before the full awareness of the completeness of my position in Him became clear, but the seed was sown, the light had shone in my heart showing me the depth of my sinfulness, and the forgiveness that was mine in Christ Jesus my Lord comforted my heart. - Praise His Holy Name!

Thank you, too.
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Not surprising that you would refer to Scriptural truth as "mythology". . . .

This is not a derailment.
It's a correction of an earlier erroneous remark about Baptism.

WRONG.
You are denying the words of Christ Himself (John 3:5).

Baptism is necessary for salvation (John 3:5, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 1 Pat. 3:21).

i am so sorry you been mislead water NEVER SAVED ANY ONE. its a spiritual birth the spirit quickens brings to life
Romans 8 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

Such a GLORIOUS chapter, Romans 8.

Shows that truth and doctrine must be spiritually discerned, as the Holy Spirit gives enlightenment and understanding.
